James is standing up, his vision is blurred and he doesnt think he can hear properly. he has to be imagining this. how could regulus do this to him? making such a big deal infront of his family. they're all watching, what is he meant to do now?
"no." james cant really tell what regulus is feeling, he cant even see his short arse right now. he can only assume there are tears and every one is shocked. "oh" he finally hears regulus say something. not very telling to his feelings though.
"ive gotta go" one last word and off goes regulus. probably the night train, its either bustling crowds or sudden sleepers, hes not sure which is worse. james akwardly trudges back to bed. hopefully when he wakes up this fresh hell will be over with.
in his unfortunate slumber he remembers it more clearly. Regulus' brother sirius had drank almost the entire bottle, no one was enjoying the party anymore. No one clapped, or cheered or even smiled, they could tell by the look on his face that this marriage would never work out. it sas fine when they were dating, back when it was all roses, portrait poses and trips downtown.
But regulus cant be domesticated, like taming a bear. No one could control him. whose to say he doesnt run away with a younger james, one who could treat him better than james could, one who could provide him an heir to his stupid fucking family, his fucking 'legacy' that almost got them all killed, his fucking 'fate' with abusive parents and no one left to protect him.
he cant go home. he knows regulus is going to be waiting for him at the door, than he latches himself to james' leg and begs him for an explanation, either that or a fucking beatdown for embarrassing him. you can never tell with assholes like him. he knows what fucking wall burger is gonna say, "he wouldve been a beautiful groom, what a shame hes fucked in the head. but you'll find the real thing instead". he knows that regulus will settle down with a 20 year old and plough her heartlessly every night, than have 3 useless children and regulus will continue the cycle of abuse that goes in that incest house.
he decides to go home. hopefully regukus has cleared out his shit and fucked off like he would usually do.
