Draco walked into the noisy common room smiling to himself. At the beginning of the year, everyone was very quiet and kept to themselves and their houses, but Hermione had quickly tried to change that, making game nights and speeches about house unity. After that, everyone kinda just became friends.
Draco moved through some people, mumbling apologies when he bumped into them, making his way over to where Ron and Harry were playing chess, Hermione on Ron's lap.
“Hey,” He said, sitting himself on the bench with Harry. Ron smiled at him.
“Hey mate, wanna play after?” Ron said, gesturing to the board. Draco nodded.
“Sure but I have to work on the transfiguration homework.” Draco said with a shrug, leaning back. He heard Harry chuckle, and even Hermione sighed.
“Draco you know you don’t always have to be doing homework, that essay isn’t due for another 2 weeks.” She said, Draco rolled his eyes.
“Of all people I thought you would be on my side, Hermione. I am hurt.” He said with a pout, clutching onto his chest. She narrowed her eyes at him.
“Sersoiuly, just take a break for a night, chill. It’s Saturday and we have a quidditch tournament in a few hours, you’ll go right?.” Harry said from next to him. Draco looked at him, and found that the raven haired boy was looking at him already. Draco felt his heart speed up in his chest. Is this what they talked about in the book? Teenage love in what Americans called High School?
“Yeah, I'll be there.” Draco said. Harry smiled so big his eyes crinkled in the corners. Draco felt himself melt on the spot. Eventually he settled down and did end up playing Ron in chess and still lost. One day he’ll win.

Not even a day later Draco sat with some friends in the common room, drinking a beer. It wasn’t a party, just a small gathering, but Draco sat still with a content smile.
“We should play Marry Kiss or Kill!”
Someone, probably Seamus, yelled. Draco raised an eyebrow while others agreed. He leaned into Harry’s space a little.
“What is that?” Draco whispered, a little embarrassed that he didn’t know and everyone else did. Harry looked at him and chuckled and for a moment Draco thought Harry was going to make fun of him, but all that came out of his mouth was..
“Basically it’s a game where someone names 3 people and the other person has to pick who they want to Marry, Kiss, or kill. It’s pretty easy, you’ll get the hang of it.” Harry said, flashing a small grin to Draco then talking with others. Draco smiled, feeling the same butterflies he felt a few days ago. It seemed to be a common occurrence with Harry and him. A few rounds went by, some saying teachers and others saying voldemort multiple times. Finally it was Harry’s turn and he was a little interested in what Luna was going to ask him.
“Harry, Kiss, Marry, or Kill.....Neville, Ron, or Draco.” She said with a smile. Draco's heart beated in his chest and he for sure turned a dark red. People laughed and placed their bets.
“I’m betting on all three.” Draco watched Harry as he kind of laughed about it but also grimaced. Me too.
“I guess kiss Ron because I could never Marry or Kill you.” Harry said, looking at his best friend. Ron looked a bit offended but smiled no less.
“Thanks, I guess?” Ron said, a little confused. Harry opened his mouth but nothing came out. Draco waited, it could either Harry pick Kill and he wouldn’t be mad because they were once enemies and fought on opposite sides of the war but his heart would probably shatter with the words, or Harry would be Marry. Draco didn’t want to think about what he would feel like because Harry would never choose to Marry him. So, Draco prepared for the heartbreak.
“Marry Draco, Kill Neville. Sorry Mate.” Harry said, then took a sip of his beer. Some cheered, getting money handed to them by the others who bet. Other’s were shocked or laughed. Hermione and Pansy had looks on their faces that honestly scared Draco.
“It’s just a game.” Harry said to the group and snuck a look at Draco. Draco felt his heart sore and stomach filled with butterflies. He felt so in love. It was a sickening feeling but he never wanted it to go away.

“Tell me ‘bout the first time you saw me.” Harry said, looking over at Draco. Right now they were both sprawled across their shared dorm, eating jelly beans and doing homework- well trying. Draco kept getting distracted by Harry. Draco raised an eyebrow at Harry's question, popping a cherry jellybean into his mouth. He thought for a moment.
“What do you want to know?” Draco asked, putting his book down beside him. Harry shrugged, sitting up a little, resting his body on his arms. Draco sat up and leaned against the dresser.
“What you thought.” Harry said. Draco sighed, thinking.
“Well, my mother would always read the articles about the boy who lived: coming to Hogwarts.. I was really excited. I thought to myself ‘I am going to be his friend.’ and well, you know the rest.” Draco said, looking over at Harry who had a slight smile. Then he laughed. Draco glared at him and threw a Jellybean, hitting him square in the face.
“Stop laughing, idiot.” Draco said, but couldn’t help but smile at the boy who was laughing in front of him.
“I’m not laughing at you, I think it’s sweet.” Harry said, smiling so big his eyes crinkled. Draco rolled his eyes.
“Shut up, Potter.” Draco snapped, but couldn’t hide his smile fast enough. Harry crawled towards him.
“Has the bad, mean, cunning Slytherin Draco Malfoy gone soft?” Harry said softly. Draco scoffed.
“Soft? I am not soft!” Draco defended himself. Harry got closer, sitting next to Draco, looking over at him with a glint in his eyes. Draco thought if he were to die right now, he could die happy.
“You’ve gone fully soft, Draco Malfoy.” Harry said quietly. Draco opened his mouth and looked over at Harry but froze. They were so close. Noses almost touching. Draco watched Harry look at his lips then up again, then turned away with a small laugh, nervously. He waited a moment before talking.
“Oh yeah, I wanted to show you something later. 9 o'clock sharp.” Harry said, avoiding eye contact. Draco smiled a little, seeing the blush on Harry's cheeks and nodded.
“9, got it.”

Harry walked Draco to Hogsmeade late Saturday night, arriving at the Floo. Draco eyed Harry really suspiciously.
“Where are we going?” Draco asked. Harry glanced over at him, looking a little nervous. Harry then grabbed some floo powder, looking at Draco to do the same.
“London.” Harry said. Draco's eyes went wide. Harry threw the floo powder into the fire, the fire ablaze with green flames, and Harry yelled an address, taking Draco's hand and walking in. Draco closed his eyes until he felt Harry's pull again, and he opened them, revealing a field in the countryside. They stood on a gravel road, in the starry night. There wasn’t a sound except for the crickets in the field. Harry let go off his hand and Draco whipped his head over to where Harry walked off to. Then he saw it.
A beautiful red convertible.
Harry smiled over at Draco, waving his hand.
“Come on!” Harry said, standing next to the passenger seat. Draco walked over to him, his arms crossed.
“I have so many questions.” Draco said. Harry laughed, shaking his head.
“Come on idiot, just get in.” Harry said with a smile, opening the door for Draco. Draco rolled his eyes, getting in.
“Isn’t that sweet.” Draco said. Harry winked and walked around the car, jumping in..literally. He didn’t even open the door. Draco laughed and Harry smirked at him as he started the car.
“Do you even know how to drive this thing, Potter?” Draco asked. Harry looked over at him.
“You scared, Malfoy?” Harry asked. Draco gave him a challenging look back.
“You wish.” Draco said. Harry smiled and looked forward, pressing on the gas, and they were off. They rode through the dirt road, a little bumpy but with the wind in his face and god awful music Harry was playing, he was content. After about 10 minutes Harry stopped the car, still in the middle of nowhere and turned the car off.
“Come here.” Harry said, jumping in the backseat. Draco raised a questioning eyebrow at him and Harry waited. Draco sighed and hopped in the backseat with him. Draco watched as Harry looked up at the sky, all the constellations.
“See, we are so far away from any part of the city so we can see the stars a little more clearly.” Harry explained, looking over at Draco. Draco stared at Harry, his lips parting slightly. Harry watched the action, getting closer to Draco.
“No one’s ever had me,” Draco leaned in, showing some confidence. “Not like you.” He said quietly. He heard Harry's breath hitch and he knew he was long gone. Harry put a hand on Dracos cheek and leaned in, kissing him.
From then on, Harry and Draco had always had each other.
