It was like no other day in Harry Potter’s sixth year. He was currently wandering the castle under his infamous invisibility cloak with the marauders map in hand wand in the other casting a soft lumos to help find his way. He smiled as he passed the trophy cabinet with the shield where his dads name stood loud and proud, showing off as being the best quidditch keeper of his time. Yet he quickly moved on as he was a man on a mission.

See lately he had been having a slight ‘obsession’ as Hermione called it, with none other than Draco Malfoy. Harry would deny it with an excuse of ‘keeping tabs on him’ as he was none other than Lucius Malfoy’s son. Ron seemed to buy it.

Harry had been thinking of the topic of Draco Malfoy for a while now, he couldn’t deny that he had grown into an attractive being. It wasn’t until the unfortunate potions incident that he realised the line between love and hate is in fact very thin.

See in this particular class he was late. Very late. And it was NOT his fault, it was fully a certain blond haired grey eyed wizard. He had bumped into him in the hallway, dropping his books at his feet. They exchanged their usual snarky comments, yet this time it was slightly awkward as they were on their way to the same classroom.

When they had finally made it, they parted ways and Harry had gone to partner with Hermione as she was the only one without a partner as she always insisted she could do everything by herself. Though desperate times called for desperate measures.

Harry peeked into the cauldron and took a whiff, he recoiled at the unexpected smell. ‘Jesus Hermione, what did you use for this? Malfoy’s whole morning routine?’ He looked at her with complete seriousness while Hermione was stifling a laugh.

In the end it turned out to be, as you guessed it, amortentia.

The point was Harry had made some serious reconsiderations about his feelings. That was why he was now on the way to the north astronomy tower where Draco’s little dot lay on the map. Truth be told he was worried about the blond. It was only the start of the year and he was already looking miserable and considerably thinner.

He made his way up the last few steps of the tower. The taller wizard sat there, legs hanging dangerously off the edge. Harry’s heart skipped a beat. He slowly took off his cloak and made his way to sit down next to the lonely boy.

Draco jumped suddenly, not expecting the company. He looked up, ‘What do you want Potter?’ He muttered.

‘You’re looking awfully thin,’ he said looking at the boy knowingly.

Draco sighed and looked up at the sky, he could see the Leo constellation. Of course he could. Potter and his bloody Gryffindorness. ‘I’m fine thanks for the concern,’ he managed to sputter out.

‘Do you know what I said to Hermione in potions class two weeks ago?’ Harry says, looking Draco straight in the eyes. If he was gonna do this, he had to do it now or he would absolutely lose the courage.

‘What the hell are you on about Potter?’ He looks at him confused, about to get up but he gets interrupted by the curly haired boy starting to speak again.

‘I asked her if she had used your morning routine to make the potion.’

Draco looked at him confused and racked his brains, what were they doing two weeks ago and why would Granger be using his precious hair products for a potion?

His eyes widened. Amortentia. He looked at Harry again from where he had skewed his vision in concentration. ‘You’re in love with me?’ He stammered out, barely audible.

Harry blushed, ‘I suppose so.’

‘Would you like to know what I smelt?’

‘Yes.’

‘Broom polish and treacle tart were the most prominent ones.’

‘Oh, that's my favourite pudding.’

‘I know.’

They stared at each other for what seemed like ages. Their heart rates were abnormal as they continued the eye contact. ‘Can I-’ Harry starts, and Draco immediately responds with a yes.

Harry put both his hands on Draco’s cheeks and slowly pulled him in. As their lips connected it just felt right. Like two soulmates finally finding one another. It was slow and meaningful, full of love.

They pulled apart with their hands entwined looking up towards the stars.

‘I hope we can meet again.’
