Into the world once more
Ah, was it another's time? He'd nearly forgotten floating in the sea of time as he was. Almost forgotten his promise to Draco when his time came... to be there for all who share Black blood.
He could almost hear the blond twat's sneer "It's the least you can do for you're own kin Lord Black." The usual bite never quite reaching his icy eyes however. It brought a small smile to his somber face.
With a sigh, everything shifted as the once hauntingly beautiful grayscale world slowly grew lighter and lighter as he moved once more towards that accursed veil, that he- and he alone could cross. There before him stood that towering arch, the one that haunted him so, the sickening memory of his godfather's tragic demise coming to mind and reopening deep wounds- it wouldn't do to linger here any longer than necessary.
The hushed whispers of the dead and the sound of his own footsteps growing louder... more corporeal were all that accompanied him as he reached out and touched the shimmering silver gate that he'd so long ago crossed. Instead of simply passing through the curtain as he continued however, the veil seemed to cling to him, wrapping itself around his body and entwining with his very soul. With nothing more than a faint gust of wind did his master vanish, to fate's golden land. Once more did their paths separate... for a time.
---------------------------------------------------------------------------- Alice gasped as she came back from the brink, if she had been human she would be dizzy with the disjointed images that came before her sight: A strange boy with shaggy black hair, a blond man with a nasty snear and icy blue eyes, an Ancient and crumbling arch filled with wispy flowing silver and a million whispering voices drowning each other out, a skeletal hand clutching a shoulder, and a pair of haunting green eyes that sent a shiver down her spine.
No matter how it turned in her head she couldn't make sense of it, a vision most certainly, but of what? Of who? It was nothing like anything her sight had shown her before... but the more she puzzled over it the more she felt her brother's annoyance, (Edward didn't like being interrupted from his brooding) and Jasper's concern. She turned to give him a reassuring smile, knowing full well he desperately needed it, drowning in guilt as he was.
She screamed as she was thrust into a vision and standing behind the man with the honey blond locks and golden eyes was a dark shadow, a skeletal hand gripping the blonde's shoulder tightly as two piercing green eyes bored into her soul. "I see you little seer, glimpsing into fate... be careful where you shine your light... there are things in the dark that do not wish to be seen." A cold voice warned. The final words being hissed out as her vision cut to black, as for the first time in her undead life she felt her conciousness slip away from her.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Edward felt sick as Alice's vision burned itself into his mind, fear growing as venom pooled in his throat. What in the world was that thing, and what the fuck did it want with Jasper?!
The family was in a panic as Alice's vision ended, and like a marionette with its string cut she crumpled to the floor in an unceremonious heap at the bottom of the stairs. Jasper was at her side in seconds as furious thoughts raced through his mind- the Major scanning every Avenue for whatever hurt his partner, only calming slightly when he felt her emotions faintly. His eyes were pitch black as he looked to him expectantly.
------------------------------------------------------------------------
Jasper was drowning, his brother's emotions were overwhelming, his aura spattered with a clash of ugly colors: bright red anger mixed with deep blue grief, and sickly green regret, all framed by that all-consuming grey guilt that hung in the air between them like a noose around their necks. He wanted nothing more than to be far away from that turbulent storm of emotions, so as to sort his own clearly, but he was ever the dutiful partner he stayed home for Alice, speaking of the bubbly girl he heard her soft footsteps coming down the steps, feelings of blue-gray melancholy not quite hidden by her typical golden optimism. Her emotions lurched suddenly going from that melancholy to a bright white confusion. A vision then? Whatever had she seen to cause her this much trouble?
He rounded the corner to catch her eye at the bottom of the stairs. As she came out of the vision, her confusion even more evident on her face- her nose scrunched up and mouth pursed in her overly exaggerated "Thinking" expression (it truly was adorable).
As their eyes met Alice let out a scream of terror- the likes of which he'd never heard from her before. The white of confusion being consumed by pitch black and sticky fear, specks of white shock all that dotted that deep black void.
He watched in Horror as her eyes rolled to the back of her head and she seemed to go limp on her feet, crumpling to the floor. In an instant he was there, catching her as she fell from the stairs. He looked to the top, and saw his brother, the storm of color that was his bitter grief now painted that sticky tar-black of shock and fear. He stared at him like he'd seen a ghost, a shiver went down his spine as his eyes trailed to the pixie in his arms... perhaps he had.
