Chapter 5
Sirius waits in his and Remus’ room for Remus to return from dinner. He currently has one of the files open in front of him reading it. Not Ava’s though he wanted Remus to be in the room and for them to go over it together incase the Black madness decided to rear its ugly head.
Ezra NO. 14 Nightingale
Found January 1982 left abandoned in the Atrium of the Ministry of Magic at 11:01 am by an auror. Was held for 2 weeks in New Dawn while Aurors looked for his family, no one claimed forward and he was officially marked as an orphan. Only injuries was a scratch on his cheek no illness present. Birthday sometime in 1980. Assigned birthday April 20th 1980. Was normal for a toddler maybe a bit calmer than most.
Incident reports
July 12th 1985 - First bought of Accidental magic, took a toy from fellow orphan floating it to himself.
January 4th 1986 - Threatened staff for making him eat veggies with a fork
March 21st 1986 - Calmly threatened a teacher while insulting them
November 14th 1986 - Moved directly to Nightingale after a fit of rage.
Update after move - Ezra seems to have adjust well to the transfer, has been friendly with a few other children seem to be finally making friends. Had a family reach out about him but it was blocked by the ministry. No reason listed.
Sirius runs a hand through his hair, maybe there was some truth to what his cousin had said. Which means there is a lot more going on behind the scenes. He looks at the other two files debating if he should look at Noah’s. After a moment he stands and walks over to a shelf grabbing a tumbler and the bottle of fire whiskey. He pulls the stopper out and pulls himself three fingers. He recorks the bottle and sits back down taking a sip. He leans back closing his eyes. Alright, he thinks to himself he might as well read Noah’s and get it out of the way. He picks up Noah’s file and flips it open.
Noah NO. 8 Nightingale
Found November 1981 found in Knockturn alley Around 22:00 and brought to Ministry of Magic by Albus Dumbledore several days after he was said to be found. Claimed the child was left in a box and found by one of his people who brought the boy to him. Albus claimed he spent those days looking for the child's family. None was found and child was placed in Little Whispers with the name Noland. Child had some bruises on his back and legs at time of placement. Birthday sometime in 1980. Assigned birthday February 14th 1980. Was normal for a toddler maybe a bit more high strung than most. After being moved to Nightingale had his named changed to Noah.

March 13th 1984 - First bought of Accidental magic, unlocked door to go outside.
January 4th 1985 - Threw a potion at staff member, causing injury.
March 21st 1986 - Pushed another child down the stair then laughed, Moved to Nightingale immediately.
November 10th 1986 - Gave another child a black eye while claiming he was protecting his friend.
December 15th 1986 - Screamed at staff threatening them, claims he was protecting his friends.
Sirius reads down the pages of Noah’s file most childhood incidents capped off around 1987. The very last page said there was more information in school records available at request. Sirius sets the file down taking another sip of firewhiskey. Noah’s file was strange though brought to the Ministry by Albus, who had kept the child for several days before hand. Sirius had been filled in about the months following the war. Every child that was found was to be turned into the aurors or the department of children services. No excuses, they had to be turned in. But Albus hadn’t listened, interesting.

Across the school grounds a small group moves through the woods laughing, enjoying their freedom under the new moon, in the darkness.
“Big root coming up in about 6 feet.” Ava calls out as she jumps over it smiling over her shoulder at her friends her eyes glowing amber despite there being no moon light. She keeps running hearing the sound of three other sets of feet hitting the ground behind her.
“Ava slow down not all of us are part wolf and can see in the dark.” Tara calls out only receiving a laugh in response.
“Ava come on at least slow down a bit.” Ezra calls out sounding a bit closer than Tara.
“This is good for you guys. Who knows when we will need to out run a threat.” Noah calls back being the closest to Ava.
“Exactly besides if we don’t get this energy out we won’t sleep tonight… Wait slow down.” Ava says coming to a stop at the edge of a clearing. The other three come to a stop around her.
“What is it Ava?” Ezra asks placing his hand on her shoulder.
“It smells off, feels off. I just can’t pin point it.” She says taking a step back further into the shadows.
“Could it be because Lupin is here now?” Tara asks looking across the clearing.
“No, one we haven’t had a full moon yet so Remus wouldn’t be out here yet. Besides a wolf’s scent doesn’t change much. It’s not Remus’ scent. That also wouldn’t explain the feeling being off.” Ava takes another step back. “I think we need to get back to the safety of the school…”

Sirius and Remus stare at Ava’s file. They have read over it several times now but are still trying to connect the dots, something in it feels wrong.
Ava NO. 67 Nightingale
Given over on March 3rd 1982, to the department of family and children by an unknown wizard. The wizard claimed her found her under a tree in Hyde park located in London, England. Never was stated when the child was found just that the child being alive while soaked by the rain and the low temperature made him suspect the child was magical. Test were run and confirmed that the child was in fact a magical child. She was placed in First Light and named Avalonleigh. Child had a slight fever at the time of being placed. Birth year 1980 assigned birthday July 5th 1980.

April 4th 1984 - First bout of accidental magic, broke window during a tantrum with no known cause
August 5th 1984 - Screamed for 3 days straight and shocked everyone who touched her, transferred to New Dawn
Update after move - Seems to have settled down in new environment, a bit introverted but does interact with other children as of November 15th 1984 no signs of misbehavior. Although has complained of a headache each month. Attempted adoption.
March 21st 1985 - Hit another child with a book then threw said book at staff
March 29th 1985 - Threw rocks at several other students possible magic use. (Moved to small bedroom and only allowed out for school and meals for 2 weeks. Grounded)
April 13th 1985 - Cut another child's hair with scissors, when confronted tried to cut staff member. (Grounded for 1 week.)
April 20th 1985 - Couple tried to adopt her when denied she threw a cup at the staff member that told her.
May 1st 1985 - Refused meals all day then threw plate at staff.
July 6th 1985 - Shoved tampered potion down older child’s throat, Moved to Little Whispers due to continued violent behavior.
Update after move - Name was changed to Avalon. Has made friends with 3 other children, well behaved and polite.
September 18th 1986 - Went to nurse due to headache, eyes were amber and was very temperamental.
September 30th 1986 - Punched another student.
November 1st 1986 - When to attack another child with a fork, was stopped by staff in time.
November 10th 1986 - Returned inside from recess with several cuts and bruises, other children returned in similar states.
November 20th 1986 - Has stopped speaking on day 5.
December 25th 1986 - Burned down the Christmas tree claims the fire was an accident per written note, threw several papers with writing into the fire before it was put out.
January 3rd 1987 - Attacked another student at school refuses to state why. Still not speaking.
January 23rd 1987 - Using Amber eyes to scare other students, possible half werewolf. More testing to be done.
Testing update - Is confirmed to have wolf blood. Never has transformed not bitten.
February 14th 1987 - Bit another child while cackling, still has not spoken words.
March 1st 1987 - Had to be separated from other children, seems to be attacking others for just speaking.
March 5th 1987 - Found sick in room, seems to have caught an illness, possible explanation for previous incident.
March 8th 1987 - Refused to take potion today, growled at staff member.
March 9th 1987 - Found semi-conscious in bed after having to be force fed potion night before. Diagnostics show it’s due to a bad potion.
March 15th 1987 - Allowed to interact with others again, growled at staff and tried to bite when given a potion, broke the bottle, contents burned staff. Potion seemed to be tampered with.
May 19th 1987 - Refuses anything she doesn’t see being made, throws food and drinks at staff if not there when prepared. Talks have begun of moving her.
July 31st 1987 - Moved to Nightengale after stealing staff member’s wand.
Update after move - Has settled in quick making fast friends, has begun speaking again. Will eat and drink if friends eat or drink from her plate/glass first. Name changed to Ava. 3 families tried to adopt her all turned down. Malfoy’s have officially begun sponsoring her.

Sirius and Remus sigh after reading it for the 5th time, and Sirius finishes off his 4th glass of fire whiskey.
“Well reading this and what Cissa told me something is definitely off Moony.” Sirius says tossing the file onto the floor irritation clear in his voice. “But it still leaves more questions than answers.” Remus watches as Sirius stands and starts to pace the room. “What do we do now?”
“Nothing, we watch and wait. There is nothing tying her to Ariel, the location where she was found isn’t near where she would would have been, Albus told us she was dead, and well Black hair and Blue eyes while not common can be found in the muggle world, she could be muggle born.” Remus says leaning back in his seat.
“Alright we wait.” Sirius agrees walking back over to the shelf and refilling his glass with fire whiskey.
