Marriage did not seem like a new beginning. With James, marriage was merely a continuation. A promise to keep going, to continue loving, continue caring. To hold and keep holding, until his arms couldn’t hold anymore. Remus couldn’t imagine that happening; it seemed more likely his arms would completely evaporate.
