James potter didn’t mean to kill that man. Well…he did.
earlier that morning:
harry, james and luna were having a day out. lily and her girlfriend, pandora went on a trip to Paris since they had been taking care of Harry (as well as luna) all week since james was busy with work. Luna is Pandora’s daughter and Pandora and lily both take care of her along with Harry.
James, Luna and Harry went to get ice cream, they went to the fun fair and then as they were making their way home, Luna and Harry had fell asleep, Harry on James’ back and Luna in his arms.
they had to walk through a sketchy alleyway, james was cautious when walking though and rightfully so, a man appeared from nowhere. james thought he would just keep on walking but he didn’t. The man stopped right there and said “she’s a beauty isn’t she” referring to Luna.
If you said james was disgusted, that was an understatement.
James couldn’t help himself. His fist collided with the man’s face too fast.
James’ ears were ringing. The man tried to grab luna’s foot but was unsuccessful as james noticed what he was doing and set Luna down. She was awake now and so was Harry. James got Harry off his back and told him and Luna to go into the shop across the street and tell them what’s happening. he then ruffled Harry and luna’s hair before a fist collided with his stomach.
Luna and Harry ran to the shop and went in. Good they were safe.
James sort of blacked out. When he woke up, the man was on the floor. He didn’t care to check for a pulse. He wishes that man is dead.
As james wiped blood from the corner of his mouth, a shop owner came running around the corner. Harry and Luna behind. james grabbed their hands and lifted them both into his arms, both on his hips and he apologised to the shop owner.
Later that evening:
James, Harry and Luna got home soon enough. James called lily immediately and told her what had happened and she was utterly disgusted. Her and Pandora were getting the next flight home. James felt horrible for running their well deserved trip.
Two hours later:
Harry wanted chocolate milk so james called Sirius to come and babysit the kids as he went out to tescos.
As james was leaving Tesco’s he was stopped by police. Uh oh.
James kept calm, he was a good liar. It was self defence right?
“Where were you last night?” james acted confused as he heard the police
“What’s going on.” He said “I need to get home to my kids this better be quick.”
The police looked at him unimpressed “Sir, there was a murder last night and the woman who owned a coffee shop across the street street caught on cameras your face.”
James was nervous. “I didn’t do anything.”
“Sir, where was you last night. Last time I’ll ask.” The officer said.
“I didn’t murder anyone.” james says.
the police just looked at him obviously not believing him.
“I HAD AN ALIBI” he yelled out as he lifted his hands above his head.
oh fuck… he doesn’t have an alibi why did he say that?
the officer quirks an eyebrow
suddenly, a man who looks too much like Sirius appears at James’ side and says “honey did you get the milk?” james was confused for a second before he realised what’s happening. “Oh yes I did, this officer has reason to believe im the reason for a murder what happened.” james says before looking back up at the officer “you see sir, I was with my boyfriend here on a date night to celebrate our anniversary.”
the man nodded along. “I was with him last night. We went to my favourite restaurant, I told him he didn’t have to spend so much but he did. He’s such a romantic isn’t he?”
The officers leave. Holy shit it worked.
“So who’d you kill?” The raven haired man asked curiously.
“What.?” James blurts out.
“Who…did…you…kill…” He says slowly.
“A man who made a comment on my ex girlfriend’s daughter.” James said as he looked down at his feet.
“You did the right thing james.” the raven haired boy realises his mistake.
“How did you…” james says, incredibly perplexed.
he sighs. “Regulus…Black.” He says. The boy looks away.
“Thanks regulus.” James says, smiling now.
