Chapter 6

His hands clenched in his lap until his knuckles turned white. His eyes darted around the room, staring everywhere but at the angry, terrifying man in front of him.

"Answer me, you faggot. Where the hell do you get off, liking a boy? Huh?" He raised his hand as if to hit him.

He flinched, shying away from him. "I- I don't like him, Father... it was a rumor, a lie!"

"Are you calling Severus a liar?"

He stared up at his father suddenly. "N-no, Father. I-"

The sound of flesh banging against flesh could be heard even in the corridor outside the office. His face stung, his cheek an angry, flaring red. His father had never hit him before, and yet, there he was, standing over him, his hand still raised from the slap.

"I don't ever want to hear that you like boys. If I have to come back here, Draco, I will bring your mother. You've been warned, Draco." He turned and walked away from him, his staff banging the steps as he made his way up to the Great Hall.

Tears slowly streamed down Draco's face. He hated himself for liking the Poter boy. He couldn't believe himself. But, as much as he had resentment for Snape, himself, and his father, he had more fear.

Fear for one thing.

His mother.
