Chapter 12
"Okay, so Greengrass is Duelling Magic, which just means they have an instinctual knowledge when duelling of what to do with what they're capable of, it's why many were relieved during the War that Johnathon Greengrass wasn't fighting against them and pissed he wasn't fighting for them."
"Makes sense, though it doesn't sound fair," Fred said.
"Right you are, Fred," I said.
"How do you always know which of us is which?" George asked.
"You have a different Aura and Magical Signature so Draco and I can tell which of you is which," I said.
"Oh, what colours are they?" Fred asked.
"Yours is blood-red and George, yours is dark green," I said.
"Cool!" They said.
"Okay, so Crouch is Magical Languages, which just means they understand every Human language, Flint is Enhanced Strength, Parkinson is Gossip Detection, which serves them well in the Sacred 28, Rowle is Night Vision, Shacklebolt is Familiar Detection, which just means they can detect Familiar Bonds and Yaxley is Gift Detection, which means they can detect when someone has their Family's Gift. Honestly, I would've thought you'd think that one was the most boring," I said.
"Thanks, Cassie!" Fred said.
"Yeah, thanks!" George said.
...
"Oh, this just got good!" I said as Draco summoned a Snake during his duel with Harry. "Aw, she's so cute!" Sev walked closer to the Snake, talking as he did so.
"Don't move, Potter. I'll get rid of it for you."
"Allow me, Professor Snape," Lockhart said before using a Spell to throw it in the air. I quickly ran onto the platform, pushing Lockhart out of the way as I did so, and I saw the Snake aiming to attack Justin. Harry spoke to it.
Don't attack him! Don't attack Justin! Don't attack Justin!
Come to me, little one. Come to me. The Snake quickly slithered over to me. What's your name, little one?
I don't have a name, Mistress.
How about Rigel?
I like it, Mistress.
Are you a girl or a boy?
A girl, Mistress.
A good girl.
Why'd she listen to you and not me? Harry asked, interrupting my conversation with Rigel.
You are not my Master. She is my Mistress.
And you're adorable Rigel. Now, let's go and find you a nice little Rat or Mouse for you to eat, shall we?
Yes, please, Mistress.
Are you venomous?
Very, Mistress.
Cool!
"What're you playing at?" Justin asked as I turned around to leave.
"Excuse you, jerk. Harry and I just saved your life! Rigel here is very venomous and as she was upset she'd been tossed into the air-" I glared at Lockhart who looked sheepish for a moment. "And randomly summoned from her home-" I glared at Draco. "She was very rightly mad and wanted to attack the first thing she saw, which happened to be you. Harry tried telling her not to and she was starting to listen when I told her to come to me and she did. Then, I named her and asked if she is venomous and she said yes. Now, I'm going to get her a nice Mouse or Rat to eat because she's hungry. Draco, I suggest not using that Spell again. It's not nice for the Snakes you summon. If anyone tries to get rid of Rigel again, they'll regret it. She's mine now. And, Justin, I expect a thank you for both me and Harry. If Harry didn't understand Snakes and I didn't understand every Animal, thanks to having the Shafiq Family Gift, you'd've been bitten and while I'm sure Madam Pomfrey has the Anti-Venom, it would've been a question as to whether or not you'd've gotten to the Hospital Wing on time." I quickly left with Rigel to the kitchens to ask the House Elves if they'd recently caught any Rats or Mice. They're really helpful. They even told me all about the Room of Requirement so I have a new place to practice with no risk of anyone walking in on me.
...
"Thanks, Cassie," Harry said after he, Ron and Hermione walked up to me in the library. "For defending me. Half the people in the school think I petrified Justin because I'm a Parselmouth and half of them don't. The only reason everyone doesn't is because you defended me and the Hufflepuffs and Ravenclaws love you while the Gryffindors and Slytherins think your Gift is cool."
"Wait, Justin's been petrified!? That asshole! How dare he go and get petrified when he still hasn't apologised to us yet!" I said with a pissed-off tone of voice. Hermione chuckled. "Hi, Cutie." She immediately blushed and I smirked.
"So, we, er, celebrated my birthday in September," Hermione stuttered. "Ron's is March, Harry's is July, the twins are January, Luna is December, Percy is April and Ginny's is May... When's yours?"
"Halloween is my birthday. Draco and I spent the morning together with our friends, I spent the rest of the day as I usually do but opened my presents at lunch and then everything else happened after dinner... I'm sorry I stormed off like that. I should've at least done our etiquette lesson first." Harry, Hermione and Ron frowned.
"I'm sorry again for what I said," Harry said.
"We missed your birthday!?" Hermione asked in disbelief. "But- But- That's not fair! I got you a present!" Hermione ran away and came back fifteen minutes later out of breath with a present in her hands. "I used Hedwig for it. Open it!" I opened it and saw an Antipodean Opaleye Dragon teddy. I squealed.
"It's so cute! I'm naming him Draco," I said and Harry smirked, Ron chuckled and Hermione beamed.
"I bet Malfoy would love that," Ron snarked. Harry chuckled. I went over to my favourite circle window and put my bag down in front of it while keeping an eye on the Gryffindors. I placed my book down on the windowsill so I could get more comfortable. I placed my hand on the windowsill so I could pull myself up as I didn't feel like using my Air Magic to fly up as I usually do.
"Ow! That hurt!" I exclaimed when I felt something prick my palm. I looked at my hand after moving it closer to my face and I saw a little blood on my palm. I looked where my hand had been and saw a small needle that hadn't been there before. It had my blood on it. It disappeared into the stone and I heard a noise.
"What is that?" Harry asked and I looked at him before looking where he was looking. Next to the window was a door. "But... It's a wall... There can't be anything on the other side. There's a window right next to it. You'd see if there was."
"Harry?"
"Yes, Cassie?" He asked.
"Magic." Harry rolled his eyes and we opened the door and entered the corridor. The door closed behind us and disappeared. I turned to where the door had been. "Lumos," I said and Harry, Ron and Hermione followed suit. "Look! There!" I pointed at the blue button next to where the door had been. "That must be how you get out." I turned back to the front and saw a door. I walked over to the door and opened it. On the other side was a small Library that looked a lot like the Ravenclaw Common Room (which I've seen thanks to Luna) but slightly different. There were shelves full of books, a fireplace, two black leather sofas like the ones in the Slytherin Common Room, a few tables with chairs at them and two armchairs. "Whoa! This must be The Secret Library."
"Secret Library?" Harry and Ron asked.
"Each of the Four Founders of Hogwarts had their own secret place made. Salazar Slytherin's is the Chamber of Secrets, Rowena Ravenclaw's is the Secret Library, Helga Hufflepuff's is the Badger's Den and Godric Gryffindor's is the Duelling Grounds. No one's ever been able to find any of them no matter how hard they looked," I said. "Given that we only got in because I was pricked, my blood was taken and I'm the Head of the Most Noble, Most Ancient and Most Reverent House of Ravenclaw, we can assume that no one's gotten into them before because they weren't Heirs, except for the Chamber of Secrets. That could easily be accessed by any Parselmouth and not just an Heir of Slytherin."
"How'd you figure that?" Hermione asked. "Maybe the Chamber of Secrets also takes blood like the other three Founder's Rooms do, if your theory is correct." I glared at her.
"Watch it, Cutie. I haven't even been in the school for a whole term yet and the Professors are already saying I'm your main competition for the title of 'Brightest Witch of Her Age'. My theory is right," I said with a scowl. "And I know because I know who the real Heir of Slytherin is and they're not responsible for the attacks. The person responsible is a fraud and I am highly offended, as are most of the other Slytherins, that this person is using the Slytherin title. No Slytherin is responsible for the attacks, I can assure you. Honestly, it would seem like a Gryffindor thing to do if there weren't Mudbloods being attacked..."
"What, trying to protect your Heir of Slytherin Brother?" Harry asked with a scowl and I laughed.
"Oh, my Gods! You think Draco is-" I cut myself off, laughing. "I guess it makes sense why you'd think that since he's my Brother and all but no. I'm the Head of the Most Noble, Most Ancient and Most Reverent House of Slytherin. Draco's not a Slytherin Heir at all. Draco and I both share our Mother and Father's blood but I was also Blood Adopted. His name was Tom Marvolo Riddle and he was the last Heir of Slytherin. He set the Monster on the school 50 years ago when he was in school. However, the Monster killed a student and he didn't want Hogwarts to close so he framed someone else for it. A third year. That third year got expelled and my Blood Adoptive Father closed the Chamber. I don't know who's doing these attacks but I'm glad I didn't announce my Slytherin title when I announced the others now. Besides, I'm also offended by this imposter's declaration. That grammar was horrible! I don't want that on my reputation. Beware didn't have a capital letter or any punctuation after it. Enemies should've had a capital with a full stop after opened or a comma after opened if enemies didn't have a capital... At least they got the spelling right but whoever did that writing needs to learn better grammar. I'm so offended. I can assure you, no Malfoy's grammar is that bad."
"Since you got the Gryffindor Heir title due to being Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff's Head of House, wouldn't people be suspicious of you with the Slytherin title?" Hermione asked as Harry and Ron were just sitting in shock.
"No," I said. "The Slytherin title only goes to those who are blood descendants. That's well known. Look, we need to find out who's really responsible for this. I've been trying but so far I've got nothing. My reputation's on the line here."
"We will... Though I still think your Brother knows something," Harry said and I rolled my eyes.
"So, you're really the Slytherin Head?" Ron asked.
"Yes, I'm also the Hufflepuff and Ravenclaw Heads and the Gryffindor Heir. Harry's the Gryffindor Head and the Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff Heir. So, as long as you're with me or Harry, or even just have some of our blood with you, you should be able to get in here whenever you want," I said. "This seems like a great spot for us to continue our etiquette classes..."
"You'd have to tell the others. Percy'll never leave this place once he knows about it," Ron muttered.
