Falling through my arms

For a man who hadn't done a lot to upset people, here he laid alone on the floor with anger and regret in his heart, he had never gotten a trial, and nobody would listen or look at him as human.

Here lays, sirius black, a man visited less than a tombstone, ever since Pettigrew framed him, he was never able to recover. Everybody he knew had left and he only carried more scars as he tried to move past things.

Nobody was sure where sirius was after he got out of azkaban, not even himself, in fact, he wasn't even sure if the man who went there had ever survived. The only sound in the room was the wind or sound of sirius moving, sometimes he'd hear voices of people outside, but even then, he was too scared to find anyone who would accept him.

Sirius got up, he leaned against a wall until he could fully stand up, it had been hours since he'd last walked, he had no reason to get up and nowhere to go, that was until now, he needed to find a reason to live, but he wouldn't find it here.

Sirius packed his small belongings into a bag and carried it on his side, he stumbled out of the place he was rotting in and kept moving forward, it was dark out, but that'd never stopped him in the past.

As sirius rounded the corner, he saw his brother regulus, who he'd not seen since 12 years prior to his arrest. Sirius put his head down hoping regulus didn't see him until words struck into his heart deeper than any spell could.

"Sirius, did they really let you out?"

Regulus's tone wasn't mocking him, but it sure felt like it.

"I mean you do see me now don't you?"

Sirius only knew how to push, that's how he'd protect himself or the people he loves, he'd push them away when he thought something would hurt them.

"Why'd you do it?"

James was genuinely curious, but regulus's eyebrows furrowed as he took in sirius's response.

"I never did, it's none of your business anyways."

Sirius desperately wanted to explain everything, but he never thought someone would listen to him. So he never bothered with it.

"If you didn't do it then why'd they lock you up for so long."

Regulus was trying to get a reaction out of sirius, their bond has gotten worse over time and even worse with sirius being sent to azkaban.

Sirius didn't answer, instead he kept walking, James and regulus didn't follow him or try to keep the conversation, they had no reason to. However, Sirius kept walking, kicking rocks along the way, he'd never wish his pain onto anyone else, but he didn't want to deal with it either.

Sirius walked until he found a nice place to watch the waves, he watched the waves crash into the rocks, and wondered if anything in his life really mattered at that moment.

Sirius began pacing, thinking about how he was betrayed or how he'd get his revenge, why would anyone believe him, everyone should've known, but nobody questioned anything, because everyone hated sirius, and so did he.

Sirius lost his train of thought and went down a worser mental path.

Does my life matter anymore, nobody wants to stay so why should I, everybody would cheer on if I'd went down, even my parents, nobody would ever look at a 'killer' with humanity in their eyes, if I should live, why? I had hardly anyone in my life before and now I have nobody, not even myself, I've been stripped of my name and honor, my life has been taken from me. Hell, knowing them, they'd probably let my body drift out into the sea, and not even the fish would take me.

Sirius stepped closer to the edge

Does anything I do matter anymore?

Sirius took another step

Why should I have any hope for myself?

Sirius placed his feet at the edge, staring.

"I'm sorry to anyone who's ever seen me as a person"

And he let one foot lead the way off of the cliff, except he didn't fall. Something, someone was holding him.

"Why are you sorry? You're no less than me sirius."

Sirius fell back and looked at who took him from taking himself away, his eyes met a light brown pair of eyes looking back at his, it was Remus.

"Why would you save me remus, I thought you'd hate me the most."

"I could never hate you."

And those words struck sirius like lightning, someone saw sirius black as a person, somebody didn't hate him, and he didn't know if he was ready to accept that yet.

"If you'd like, you can sleep at mine, you look like you could use good shower and some rest."

"..."

Sirius nodded silently, remus knew sirius was thankful, but he couldn't speak for someone being so kind to him, he felt strange but it was comforting.

Sirius followed remus to his car and got in.

"Why'd you come here? Why'd you save me?"

"I had a feeling, I saved you because I still see you as a person, I never thought for a second that you did it, nobody should have to deal with that pain.

Sirius still couldn't take it in, but he didn't have much time to think about it before he ended up dozing off
