MY SHALLOW GOD

Ever since europa was a kid, she was much more special than the other moon pets.
Unlike other pets, she didn’t have a bad owner or an abusive one at all, she was a rare one. She had a beautiful, and caring planer owner who always looked out to her and treated her like her own daughter even if they weren’t the same species, and europa was deeply grateful of it. An owner she knew would never hurt her and would always understand her.
but that happiness came with a price in such a destroyed world like this where nobody could be happy.
Europa’s owner never bothered or understood moons enough to tell europa the truth of the universe, leading to europa to think that every star, planet and the other bodies were good, pure and treated moons greatly, and due to that she never lost her innocence, and that was a huge problem.
As one day, Europa’s owner heard her singing. So she immediately asked europa if she wanted to participate in solar stage, the most popular singing competition for moons..
And without knowing anything expect for the fact that solar stage was a music competition that showed moons the chance to be famous, europa said yes.
During her first time in ANAKT system though, she was a loner despite being talkative and social she didn’t have the urge to talk to anyone at all out of worries, after all she had never seen another moon before beside her and the moons broadcasted. This was like this for the first couple of weeks and europa was getting sick of it, she even told her owner about it but it wasn’t like they had any advice anyways.
Soon, some hours later europa was as normal walking around away from other kids since she didn’t have any friends. This was her daily routine since..she had nobody to talk to and almost all the other kids had friends. So she was basically just the only lonely one, was what she thought.
Till she heard singing.
It was distant singing, a singing from deep in the ANAKT system, someone more lonely than her or would just prefer to stay alone.
And the closer europa got to it, the more beautiful melodies she heard. Like it was filling her ears, giving her life and beauty together.
Till she saw the moon singing it..
It was a young girl, about her age with a developing surface like hers. And even if she still didn’t have any, unique things or something,
She was still so beautiful. It was like europa had finally seen an angel her owner would talk about that guarded the stars.
But of course europa was too scared to approach the girl.
So for the next few months, europa didn’t talk or approach the girl at all, and only listened to her silently behind a big asteroid or an asteroid bush. Listening to the soft melodies of her voice silently and steadily.
Till one day she couldn’t take it anymore.
it happened so suddenly, she was listening one time thinking in her own little world till she stood up revealing herself like her mind wasn’t even controlling her anymore, sneaked up behind the girl and sang with her..
”Oh my clematis, stay forever by my side..” it was only after she sang that, she realized what just happened.
Europa quickly covered her mouth, her eyes widening as she took a step back from the girl who stared down her looking to have little to no emotions. That was..not the first appearance she wanted to show to the girl. After all, a stranger singing beside you all so suddenly must of been weird. “I..” she stuttered shaking her hands in-front of her face, stumbling over her own gravity trying to find words to say that wouldn’t be weird.
”SORRY— I- youmustthinkIwasstalkingyouright??IAMNOT.Iwasjustlisteningtoyousingand—“
“You were listening to me?” The girl asked, yet spoke as if that wasn’t even a question straightforwardly, making europa pause slowly turning to her. The girl was insanely beautiful, she looked just like a doll. Her hair flowing with the breeze of space, yet her face said something else. It was emotionless and dark just like a real doll almost scaring europa away as she had never seen the girl’s face before, yet she didn’t run away. After all that would be rude.
”um..” europa paused for a second, trying to not sound weird “yeah..you don’t- mind? Isn’t that weird?” She spoke out with concern, every moon she had tried to talk to always said she was invading too much of their private space whenever she just got A LITTLE CLOSE, and europa didn’t know why they were saying that yet argued with them, leading to the lonely self she was so this was complete confusion for her.
”I don’t, actually.” The girl nodded her head, before suddenly turning away looking into the vastness of space making europa raise her eyebrow as she looked at space too, seeing..nothing at all.
The two stood together in plain silence for about a minute, before the girl suddenly started to walk away.
”H-HEY?!” Europa called out in shock but also offense in her voice, her eyebrows narrowing. “what?! We haven’t even finished talking yet?! Why are you leaving!!! That’s so rude—“
”To get to our class. Duh. Class time is soon and we can’t talk here forever.” The girl responded, europa still in shock responded back immediately without thinking at all “well could you have atleast stayed for like a MINUTE OR SOMETHING??? THATS SOOO RUDE!!”
”who cares? Well I’m leaving now..” the girl crossed her arms, looking a little annoyed then before, turning to leave. But as she flew away Europa stood in surprise now looking as she left..
This might have been her only chance to know the beautiful moon.. and she was just rude to her! Europa had to do something quick..
So she grabbed the girl’s gown, tugging on it yelling out “WAIT!” But quickly returning back to a silent tone as the girl looked to her, like her voice had just disappeared.
..”what?” the girl said only for a few seconds as Europa tucked her hair behind her ear shaking her head as she looked down slowly “erm..”
”What’s your name?”

the girl stared at europa for a silent few seconds, like she was processing the question before looking at europa directly in the eyes and answering.
“Callisto.”
And ever since they met, they became the best of friends.
The both of them were spotted everywhere, always talking to each other and playing games together. They were the iconic duo of ANAKT system, yet not many people even knew of them, but they didn’t care. All they wanted was to be together, living in peace together and honestly just being together.
But Callisto knew that would never happen and that this was just their imagination dream especially for europa. Even with all their happy memories, she knew god wouldn’t help them in this situation or any. After all love definitely wasn’t destined to be in this type of world.
So when Callisto and Europa passed, and it was revealed that they were participating in the first round of solar stage, Callisto made a plan.
She was gonna pretend to sing along with Europa, so that she would win and she would lose.
The plan was absolutely terrible. But it was all Callisto had on her mind right now, and she took with it till they became adults and were about to head on stage.
On solar stage. The competition of despair.
The curtains were shut closed, backstage where planets ran around getting everything ready and putting on makeup for callisto and europa. Soon Europa’s makeup finished, and she walked around backstage, calling out for Callisto which europa was sure had already finished and was waiting beside the curtain leading outside onto the stage.
”Callistooo!~” europa hummed Callisto’s name as she walked into the room connected to the stage, seeing Callisto Europa quickly went to pull her into a deep embrace hugging her tightly “I acually CAN’T believe it! We’re on stage.. we’re gonna show our love to the whole world!” She let go of Callisto, making movement with her body making Callisto grin a bit
”do you think I’m gonna let you show our love acting like that?” She chuckled sarcastically, pitching Europa’s cheek as europa put her hands on her waist “Jezz, Mrs frown huh?” Europa frowned, trying to act upset but soon showing her true side her smile widening “no but seriously, I can’t believe we’re ON solar stage!”
Callisto’s smile faded away a bit listening to europa say that, but she quickly formed it back nodding her head “Yeah..I can’t believe it. I’m getting Deja vu back when we would sing together during childhood. I never imagined us getting her right?” She smiled her voice in a bit of a low tone.
“for REAL!” Europa yelled out before glancing at the curtains revealing the blinding lights of the stage. “..I think we’re up!” She spoke with happiness, but that wasn’t for Callisto.
That made Callisto pause for a moment. They..were up. This was the day she would die.
A small smile started to form on Callisto’s face though, even if she was going to die..it was for europa. Her true love.
and because of that it was worth it.
They both stepped onto the giant stage shinning pink, standing side by side in a sea full of burning lights. It was a dream europa could have never imaged, but Callisto? She definitely didn’t feel that. But it was okay. She was with her childhood love after all.
They both sang lines, equally together in such a beautiful tone that maybe the stars would reconsider. The song they sang being from childhood always reciting over and over again up to here. Well which was what europa thought, the happiness thing and them being together forever. Callisto was just..
Lip syncing. It would be too late when europa realized after all anyways for Callisto.
They both turned to each other slowly, smiling softly as they held their hands out to each other, deeply in love while singing..
' Oh my clematis, hope bloomed from the abyss. '
' Oh my clematis, anyways be by my side.. '
Soon after they finished their childhood icons appeared in the sky and a ‘VS’ in between, signaling that the round was about to end and that the points were about to be shown. But right as it would europa remembered a line told to her before..
do you believe in god?
in the past, humans believed in God and had religion.
Things that cannot be solved by human power were the will of god.
believed that the entire universe revolved around the Earth.
Thought that the place that connected with the sky, which they could not dare to reach was the place where the gods lived.
From the moment humanity left the universe, we all forgot God.
But if believing in god is human..
Europa would be bending down on her knees during the training at ANAKT system not wanting to sing with the other kids due to stress.
If all I can do as a god is believe..
She would suddenly look up, her eyes glimmering as she stared deep at Callisto. Singing like an absolute angel.
My god.
Callisto, would notice looking back at europa. Her once emotionless expression forming a smile.
My universe.
And Callisto would stick out her tongue playfully, europa quickly going back to the modern times..of Callisto smiling at her.
They both continued to stare at each other smiling warmly as the points counted up, from 0 to 20 to 30 and higher and higher up.. till it started to slow down, finally showing their real points.

It was time.
Callisto continued to smile at europa, sweat dripping down her surface. She was going to die soon, and yet she had a fear of dying. Callisto held back her tears, her hands shaking as she stared at europa, totally innocent not knowing what was going to happen. It almost made Callisto burst out crying, but she didn’t. She had to be brave in her final moments.
Then..
BANG!
Callisto’s neck would get shot, and she would fall to the floor blood splitting out leaving europa in shock as all splattered on her face, the taste slowly sinking into her mouth as she fell to her knees her eyes wide.
Callisto was dead.
She couldn’t accept it. How was Callisto dead? She knew well that if your eliminated in solar stage that you get sent back to ANAKT, did Callisto lie to her? But europa knew Callisto would never lie to her..so why was she dead? Did Callisto do something wrong to the stars? Was it a punishment for the both of them? Europa didn’t know. And she couldn’t form a reason either.
Europa sat on the cold floor of the stage that was once warm, blood covered her face as she stared at Callisto’s once lovely body now nowhere in site as blood continued to drop down her neck. Slowly a robot gas giant approached europa from behind.
And put the collar back on her.
But instead of green, it glowed red.
