Lestrange Manor
(Unknown Room)
Bellatrix was in ruins. Her master, her mentor, her purpose in life was gone. All because of that Potter brat. Her entire life, she had meticulously crafted it to be his follower and she had done so with pride. She was his whole heartedly. If she was ordered by him to die, she would do so without hesitation.
As soon as her mark faded, she knew her master had been defeated. The Potters couldn’t have stopped him. No, that was impossible. Something went wrong. Terribly wrong.
“Rudolphus! What has happened?” she was hysterically screaming at her husband.
“I do not know Bella” he paused trying his best to reel in her hysterics “We’re going to go look for him now. We think the Longbottom might know”.
“IMPOSSIBLE! Those blood traitors wouldn’t have been able to even scratch him!”
Now it was Rabastan who said “Those blood traitors are the only other possible explanation! He was keeping close tabs on them as well!”
“Don’t try to reason with me Rabastan! That great oaf Dumble's didn’t even try to protect them! There’s no way they had anything to do with this!” Bellatrix screeched. Her husband and brother-in-law were idiots!
“Bella, we’re attacking the Longbottom's tonight!”
“Rudolphus! You can’t be serious”. She looked for any sign of hesitation in the brothers' eyes but found none. She hmphed angrily and stormed out. If no one else would help her she would do it on her own. She had to! Her master depended on her. Those two idiots could go on a wild goose chase for all she cared, as long as her master was returned to her.
Bellatrix decided she’d go to the Potters home herself. That rat bastard, Pettigrew, was good for something. She knew the Potters were at Godric's Hollow and where exactly. Bellatrix apparated to the small home and saw the destruction of the home. Which wasn’t weird, her lord was like that. He liked chaos and destruction. The front door was off the hinges and slightly open. Every window was blown out and shattered from the inside out. The roof was collapsed on the top floor on one spot of the home.
Bellatrix walked closer to the home only to hear the crying of a baby. She stopped frozen. Her lord had failed? Impossible! He had come to kill the boy! Curiosity taking over her, she walked inside. Upon entry she sees James Potter dead on the stairs. He had no curse damage, so he was definitely killed by the Killing Curse. Bellatrix looked around him to see no wand. Had the foolish boy tried to fend off her lord without a wand? Bellatrix almost laughed.
Ignoring the body, she walked past him and up the stairs, following the sounds of crying. Walking into the nursery was like being hit by a weak confundus. There was so much to process in one room. There on the floor was a dead Lily Potter again without her wand in sight, in front of a crib with a bleeding and alive Harry Potter. In the middle of the room were her lord's robes, a pile of ashes, and his wand. Bellatrix screamed. This was proof her lord was dead! Her screaming scared the Potter boy more, his crying growing louder and more hysterical. She felt like crying the same way. Unfortunately for Bellatrix, she knew she had limited time here. She quickly collected herself and made a decision. She knew her lord wasn’t dead forever. This was only for a brief time, until he could gain a body again at least!
Bellatrix grabbed her lord's wand; he would need it when he came back! She then turned for the boy, who now had a lightning bolt scar that was trickling blood. Before Bellatrix could grab him, she heard the sound of a motorcycle. No doubt her annoying cousin. She hurried to grab the boy and apparated out before he entered the home.
Bellatrix landed in Lestrange Manor, with the boy in tow. “ELLLLFFF” She screamed out.
“Yes Lady Lestrange, what may Epimetheus be doing for you?” the house elf popped in and asked.
“Call Corvus down immediately.”
“Yes, lady Lestrange.” The elf popped away and a minute or so later popped back. “He's be coming.”
“Good now go.” The elf popped away. Around five minutes later Corvus Lestrange walks into the foyer.
“What is it dear Bellatrix”
“Father-in-law” Bellatrix curtsied gracefully but quickly. “We should go to the drawing room to speak.” Corvus eyed the baby and nodded quickly enough.
“Very well. Come along then.” Corvus turned and led her to the drawing room. She waited for him to sit before she did, as was polite. “Now why do you have a baby Bellatrix? And where are my sons?”
Bellatrix was quick to explain herself. “I’m sure you felt our lord leave.” At his nod she continued. “Rudolphus and Rabastan decided they wanted to find the Longbottom's and get information from them, since our lord was paying close attention to them as well. They tried to get me to come along but I refused. I wanted to find our lord! So, I went to Godric's Hollow myself! Our lord had killed the Potters but failed to kill the boy! So, I brought him here.”
Corvus thought for a long moment before responding. “Very well Bella. That was good thinking. Did you find our lord?”
“Yes. I found his remains. He was reduced to a pile of ashes! I did however retrieve our lord's wand!” Bellatrix was proud of herself, rightfully so of course!
“Good, Good. You did good”.
“Of course I did.”
“Well, have you thought about what you're doing with the boy?”.
“Our lord would probably want him dead” she paused to think for a moment. “He however made it adamant that he was to kill the boy himself. We both know our lord won’t be gone forever. I say we keep him until then.”
Corvus was deep in thought again. “Yes. I believe we could manage that. Of course it will be difficult. The Aurors and the Order of Phoenix will be searching for the boy. Your cousin will also be searching for him as his godfather”.
“Yes, yes, we will have to hide him for a while or so. While he’s hidden, we will have enough time to come up with a plan to hide him in plain sight.” Corvus just nodded.
“Priapus!” Corvus yelled out.
A small female elf popped into the room. “What can Priapus be doing for you master?”
“Take this baby and hide him. You will be taking care of him. If Aurors show up, you will take him and leave until we call you back. Do you understand?”
“I be’s understanding master!” The small elf squeaked while taking the baby from Bellatrix.
“If you fail...you will not live to see another day. I hope that tells you the importance of your success.”
“Of course, master!”
“Good. Now leave us.” The elf popped away, taking Harry with her. “I’m going to retire for the night. We will continue our discussion in the morning.” Corvus stood.
“Of course, father-in-law. Goodnight.”
“Goodnight my dear.” Corvus leaves.
Bellatrix stays there for a while, her adrenaline from the night still rushing through her like the emotions she’s now having. She smiles eventually, she’s still being useful to her lord. Taking the Potter boy had been an excellent idea. Of course, it was going to come with challenges, but Bellatrix had always loved a challenge.
