Tsunayoshi was a bright boy as a kid, before he got sick.
His father did it to him, they whispered. It can’t be a coincidence he got sick right after he left?
No, no, it must’ve been his mother, the townsfolk say. She’s not right in the head, doesn’t see what goes on around her. She probably got so distracted by her husband coming home she forgot to care for her child, they say.
He was officially diagnosed with Huntington's Disease, even though he had none of the markers except for his symptoms.
He was so strong, for fighting his sickness, they said. He even managed to stay with his grade, the people whispered, as if he’d won an olympic medal.
Maybe he did. Huntington's Disease was incurable, after all.
People were a lot nicer to him because of that. Any whispers of Dame-Tsuna were quickly and quietly squashed, it’s not like it was his fault he was sick. He’s so brave, still going to school, they couldn’t let the cruelty of children make the poor things life worse than it already must be.
