Chapter 1
TRIGGER WARNINGS: violence, swearing,
NOLAN’S POV
A young man was walking down the sidewalk dressed in a dark gray hoodie and black pants, boots, gloves and a mask, ‘How did my life get so fucked up’ he sighed trying not to let his thoughts get too dark. He internally did some calculations before suddenly disappearing from the sidewalk and reappearing in the hallway of a nearby bank.
The hallway was dark and before Nolan could process anything else he noticed a security guard raising his gun and took off down the hallway. Just as a shot rang in his ears he was on the roof but he kept running before ducking behind an air-conditioning unit on the roof to catch his breath.
He leaned his head back against the cold metal fighting the urge to cry ‘god damnit’ he thought ‘if I go back in there I'm either getting shot or a hero is going to haul me off to jail but… what the boss will do to me if I come back empty-handed again’.
He put his hands over his soft blue eyes ‘I fucking hate my life’. He forced himself to get up and started running to the nearest door.
EVAN’S POV
Evan walked down the sidewalk feeling bored portal was usually pretty quiet. Suddenly he heard a beep in his ear then a voice “Hercules bank robbery on 5th Ave”, ‘Just when I thought tonight was going to quiet’ he thought before tapping the earbud “Got it” he spoke before tapping it again.
When he got to the bank he noticed a person running on the roof ‘Oh great Hermes of course I have to deal with the only teleporter in this part of the country… Again’.
NOLAN’S POV
He ran up to a door panting and kneeled down, pulling out a lock-picking kit.
He would have teleported in if it wasn't for his current lack of energy he was scared if he teleported again, he would pass out. After a bit the lock clicked and the door swung open.
He perked up slightly hearing footsteps and then notices a hero a tall man with dark brown hair and brown eyes ‘Oh shit I'm screwed’ he thought as he stood up and started running again.
He tried to ignore his aching lungs as he ran ‘god damnit fuck you Zeus if you hadn't made me teleport so much earlier I would have been done this by now!’. He slipped as he rounded the corner he was suddenly grabbed and slammed against the brick wall causing a jolt of pain to shoot across his body. The hero held onto his sweater his forearm pressing into Nolan’s throat, “A teleporter can't teleport away from someone touching them” his voice sounded cold as he pressed harder causing Nolan to cough and struggle slightly as he tried to think of a way out of it.
He focused and suddenly they were about six feet off the ground when the hero released him he curled in on himself hitting the roof shoulder first before getting to his feet and running fighting the urge to pass out he managed to run out of view.
“Fuck this” he mumbled to himself trying to shake off the immense fatigue, ” I’ll just tell boss I couldn't do it alone”
EVAN’S POV
He stepped into the dark quiet house ‘Nolan isn't home yet?’ he ran his hands through his hair deciding to message him, get a shower and go to bed. After his shower, he looked at his phone still saying delivered “It's 1AM how late is his boss making him work?”. He set his phone down and laid in bed.
