You Are In Love

Hermione looked into the eyes of the man she's love privately for so many years. Her brows furrowed as she tried to process what exactly was going on. She looked around, recognizing that she was in St. Mungo's, before focusing on Fred once more. A warmth had settled in her bones, but she could feel the chill of the hospital air surrounding her. "What's going on?"

"You're awake." He whispered, grinning widely down at her.

"Fred, what's going on? Did we win?"

He chuckled softly, his hand reaching out to hold her tightly for a moment. "Yes. We won. You've been in a coma for almost two months."

"Two months? Where is everyone? What's wrong with me?"

"Hermione, calm down. Bellatrix got a hold of you in the second half of the battle. You managed to get rid of her, but it sent you into a coma." Fred explained gently. "Everyone is at home. Harry will be back soon though."

"I remember fighting with Bellatrix, but I don't-"

"True Loves kiss is a powerful thing." Fred whispered with a grin, pressing his lips into her knuckles.

She froze, her eyes widening. "That wasn't a dream?"

"What do you remember?"

"I was at my grandma's farm. You were there. We talked, but you kept disappearing."

"I kept disappearing because I would wake up. You wouldn't." He supplied.

"But how?"

Fred handed her the book on bonds, flipping to the spell that she used and pointing to the section on two sided bonds. "You're mighty brilliant, Hermione, but sometimes you miss the details."

He watched her read the passage, her eyes growing wider and wider, before she looked up at him. Her cheeks tinged in red, as she processed what exactly all this meant. "You-I-But-Wait! How did you know?"

"I saw the red in the spell before it hit me. Then in the dream scape, you told me that you were really fascinated with soulmate bonds. The only spell that had red magic was this one. Plus the doctors and nurses wouldn't stop telling me I had to figure it out on my own. So I did."

"You can't-This doesn't mean-Fred, you don't understand-"

He silenced her by leaning forward and silencing her with the simple press of his lips on hers. She froze completely, but he didn't move away. He waited for her to react, whether it be to push him away, or kiss him back. Either way, he wasn't moving until she did. When she did, it was to kiss him back, her hands coming up to tangle in his hair. He grinned, pressing more firmly into her. Their lips moving in sync, brushing and pressing together in a dance of relief. Relief that she was awake. Relief that he was alive. As the relief faded a little, it was just enough to let their love fill in the gaps. His own hands moved and tangled in her curls, gripping them gently and angling her head upwards enough to give him more access. She gasped, letting his tongue slip through her parted lips to explore. Slowly, he pulled away, leaving chase kisses on her lips as he did so. He rested his forehead against hers, both breathing heavily.

"Do you feel that?" He whispered. She focused for a moment, before her eyes widened at the surge of warmth that filled her body. "I feel that every time you walk into a room. Every time you talk, or lecture, or breath. That warmth, is my love for you. I've felt that warmth since third year." He pressed a kiss to the tip of her nose.

Hermione gasped, searching his eyes as she thought through his words. "Have you really?" She whispered. He nodded, watching her carefully. "The spell-the bond-is two sided?" He nodded again. Slowly, Hermione grin grew. Her hands cupping the sides of his face as she leaned forward and kissed his once more. "Fourth Year." She whispered when she pulled back. "I've loved you since fourth year."

Fred grinned, joy surging through him so quickly he wanted to jump up and down and scream from the rooftops, that the love of his life loved him back, and has for a very long time. "No running away." He whispered after a moment. He locked eyes with her, seeing the confusion mar her features. "I know that once the healers come in, and then my family, and everyone else, you're amazing brain is going to go a million miles a minute in panic on how they will preserve us. Don't run away from me. We will face it together. You and me."

She took a moment, picking apart his words carefully, before nodding her head. "No running." She whispered.

"I love you, Hermione Granger."

"I love you, Fred Weasley."

Then the stampede arrived.
