The Boys
Remus was walking back to his dorm, thinking about what Regulus just told him and whether he shouldâve told him about the little encounter he had with Sirius the day before when he walked straight into someone. âHey man, watch it-â he started, before realising that, yet again, he had bumped into Sirius.
âWeâve got to stop meeting like thisâ He said, smirking like he knew exactly what Remus was thinking.
âI think itâs more fitting to say we have to start looking where weâre going.â
âI donât know, I mean itâs clear youâre just trying to find excuses to get a feel of thisâ Sirius gestured to himself, âmasterpieceâ
âOh how could I not! Is that what you want me to say? Stop flattering yourself mateâ Remus said, trying to hide what he recently realised about certain feelings towards Sirius.
âWell who else could I flatter? All this attention has got to go somewhere. It's bad for me to keep it all bottled up, doctor said to release it all whenever I canâ Sirius replied.
âChrist, how one person can be so narcissistic is beyond me.â
âOh please, affection comes in all forms, narcissism is just a subgenre, being kind to myself by showing me all the love I need.â
âMy god, you canât be serious.â
âNo, I am Sirius, I'd hoped youâd know that by now.â Sirius said, smirking. It was a stupid joke that Remus walked right into. Regardless he still laughed, how could he not? Sirius had a certain charm that meant you couldnât resist. While they were talking, a group of students walked past, giggling to themselves while watching not Sirius, but Remus.
âSomeone's popularâ Sirius said, gesturing to said students. Remus looked over to them and when he did, they all giggled even more and walked away. He blushed slightly, not used to this new attention, and turned back to face Sirius, who was smiling at him.
âWhat are you smiling at then?â
âYou, you look so clueless when people show any remote signs of affection.â
âYeah well Iâm not exactly used to being the one people watch, and I doubt they were even looking at me like that, probably just laughing at me. I mean there were guys there tooâ
âSo?â Sirius asked, like there was nothing wrong with what he said.
âSo, they canât have been looking at me like thatâ
âSays who? Thereâs nothing wrong with itâ
âI guess not but like,â Remus was struggling to find the words âIt's just not the kind of thing people agree with on the Isle. Trust me.â Siriusâ face changed, the confident, jokey look wavering to show something softer, almost sympathy. Remus looked away, not able to look him in the eyes anymore.
âThereâs nothing wrong with it here, no one cares who you wanna fuck, they just wanna hear the gossip when youâve done it.â Sirius smiled and Remus laughed, happy for the mood change. He never liked people feeling bad for him, it made him feel vulnerable. Weak. And if Remus was anything, it was not weak.
âThanks mate. God this got deep quickâ
âYeah, maybe we should change the subject?â
âAlright, how about we talk about how bloody loud you are? Are you perhaps compensating for something a bit smallerâ Remus looked down at Siriusâ dick, suggesting without having to clarify what he's talking about. Sirius looked appalled.
âMe? Compensating? I would never! And it's not being loud, it's called having a personality. You should try it, might make you more likeableâ
âOh come off it, you know you like me anyways, just like i like youâ Remus said without thinking. When he realised what he had said, he went bright red. Sirius just stared at him, smirking. Clearly amused at his slip-up. âI didnât mean like that, just like, as a friend. I don't even know you that well.â Remus was desperately trying to save himself when Sirius stopped him, still smirking.
âRemus, it's ok, I'm irresistible.â With that, Remus punched his arm, and Sirius laughed. And Remus laughed. And everything was fine because Remus thought that maybe, just maybe, there was a chance that Sirius liked him back. Maybe.
