“And Harry Potter caches the snitch! Concluding the game with Gryffindor at 130 points and Hufflepuff at 120. what a close game lady’s and gentlemen, but GRYFFINDOR WINS!” The crowd went wild at the announcement but Minerva McGonagall was just starring at one Harry James Potter the son of one of her best students James Fleamont Potter.

Merlin’s beard,as she looked at him all she could see was James, his smile just as infectious as his late father. There was not a day goes by she didn’t miss James, he was to young,to happy to have met the fate he did, but fate the cruel thing she is, took him from a world that only had but a tasted of his greatness.

As she made her way to the Gryffindor common room, transformed into her cat form she could not help remembering the day she was just walking in the corridors of Hogwarts when someone picked her up and started to pet her. She tried to get out of the persons arms but whoever grabbed her just held on tighter she thought of transforming back to human form but she knew she could accidentally hurt herself or whoever picked her up. She remembered being carried to the Gryffindor common room hearing Sirius and Remus talking to each other.

“No Sirius we can’t do that because at the moment your little pea brain could not pull off a spell like this and I promised Lilly I would help her today.” Remus had said

“But Remus it would be an epic prank..”

“ hey guys!” McGonagall’s catnapper had interrupted.

“ I think someone lost there cat, we should…”He had started

“Um James.” Remus had interrupted. “ that’s Minnie.”

Sirius started full on laughing as James put her down.

“ I’m so sorry professor so sorry I had no idea.” James kept repeating. Which made Sirius and now Remus laugh harder. James looked absolutely mortified. Mcgonagall herself was holding in laughter. After she transformed back to human.

“No need for apologies it was a noble thing to want to return another students pet and such thing deserves rewarding even if it didn’t turn out as you expected.” She had announced a big smirk on her face, “five points to Gryffindor.”

At that she walked out of the common room and went to her chambers where she laughed until her lungs hurt than went to bed.

It still brought a smile to McGonagall’s face all these years later. It truly was a memory she was quite fond of.

As she finally got to the Gryffindor common room a party a blazing she saw it. Harry Potter was on a table with his friends singing very happily and very drunk.

No she wasn’t here to stop there party, she was just here to make sure her Gryffindors stayed safe and sound. Something she had been doing for quite some time now.

But this was something that actually almost brought her tears. As almost twenty or so years prior she watched as James did the same thing, as he clung to to his best friend Sirius singing his heart out drunk out of his mind. Oh this day was a lot for her heart she really was going to go to her chambers and cry tonight, but for now she just watched and hoped that Harry would not meet the same fate as her favourite student.
