late happy birthday fic (posted on another fic too ^_^)
Kim Dokja woke up feeling extremely different. Something important was happening on that day.
Right, it's Yoo Joonghyuk's birthday. Kim Dokja realises, and immediately is refreshed as he gets out of bed and goes to get ready. They were granted permission to go to Hogsmeade that day, and Kim Dokja wanted to give Yoo Joonghyuk a present that he might like there. Just in case the sunfish didn't like anything, he'd just make him some sort of pastry, maybe. Or maybe he'd beg Han Sooyoung to help him make something, because they were childhood friends, so they should know each other better, right?
He brushes his teeth, puts on his robes, and leaves the Hufflepuff common rooms.
On the way to Yoo Joonghyuk's dorm, he goes to the dorms of his Slytherin companion, Sooyoung.
"Oh, Sooyoung-ah. Good morning," Kim Dokja says good-naturedly. Han Sooyoung replies with a LOT of anger.
"Don't just 'good morning' me, Kim Dokja! I am panicking here! How the fuck did I burn that constipated asshole's birthday present?? KIM DOKJA, please save me, Namgung Minyoung is going to murder me if she finds out that I burnt it, oh god!"
"Slow down, you burnt her present for Joonghyuk?"
"..Yes."
Kim Dokja was speechless.
"What exactly was it that you burnt?"
"Uhh, a letter and some plushie that looks very, very similar to the one Yoo Mia has..?"
"Do you still have the remains of them?"
"Well, yes.."
Kim Dokja asks where they are, and Han Sooyoung hands the ashes to him. Han Sooyoung was absolutely confused, but never mind that. Kim Dokja chants some longass spell, where Han Sooyoung almost falls asleep during the time that he said it, but in the end it was done and the reader managed to somehow restore both the letter and the plush. Han Sooyoung almost got on her knees and thank him for saving her life.
Then, the two of them head over to the Gryffindor dorms, where Yoo Joonghyuk was. They entered the room, Kim Dokja having threatened the Fat Lady with a very abstract string of curses and offers to destroy her painting, and Han Sooyoung adding fuel onto the fire by telling her not-so-nice things. But then again, she wasn't exactly considered nice, was she?
Han Sooyoung enters the dorm first, seeing the red decoration and judging why the hell they chose that shade of red. Kim Dokja said that Yoo Joonghyuk looked absolutely dashing in the colour, though, and Han Sooyoung slaps the back of his head.
They move upstairs and look into Yoo Joonghyuk's dorm room. Yoo Joonghyuk was peacefully asleep, thankfully. Their unnecessary commotion downstairs was loud enough so that the bastard would wake up. He had a whole dorm room to himself, due to his insane popularity leading to multiple stalking cases and he felt very uncomfortable. He'd wrote about it in a letter to Namgung Minyoung, and she successfully got him his own room.
They were given spare keys by Yoo Joonghyuk, because their late night meet-ups would not be very secret if they loudly knocked on the door to get in.
Han Sooyoung runs over to Yoo Joonghyuk's sleeping figure as Kim Dokja re-locks the door, and basically jumps onto the unconscious man, resulting in a loudass groan from said Gryffindor. He blinks blearily, and then shoots a very, very sharp glare at Han Sooyoung.
Kim Dokja joins them after he's done locking the door, and leans down to give Yoo Joonghyuk a kiss on the forehead.
"Good morning, Hyuk-ah," he says, as Yoo Joonghyuk holds his hand and kisses it in response.
"Mm."
Han Sooyoung gags, and says things like "ew, that's disgusting, kill yourselves", while Kim Dokja laughs at her and Yoo Joonghyuk ignores her, busy caressing Kim Dokja's hand.
He gets up soon after that, and gets ready to go out to Hogsmeade. Han Sooyoung reads out the letter from Namgung Minyoung to him while he brushed his teeth, and handed him the plushie when he was done. Yoo Joonghyuk leaves it on his bed, and they leave the room.
When they reach the meeting point, there were already a lot of students, all in their little groups and chattering away excitedly. Kim Dokja and Han Sooyoung were arguing away, with Yoo Joonghyuk making comments from time to time.
Eventually, all the students arrived at the meeting point, and Han Sooyoung scoffs with a "finally" as the teachers assemble them together and prepare for everyone to set off.
After a very long time of safety briefings later, they all finally set off, and the walk was extremely noisy. Kim Dokja and Yoo Joonghyuk decided to walk further behind, while Han Sooyoung points her middle finger goodbye to them to look for her beloved Yoo Sangah.
Snow was falling all over around them, and soon after, Kim Dokja's complaining incessantly about the unnecessarily cold weather. After about 5 minutes, Yoo Joonghyuk sighs and unwraps the scarf around his neck, gently putting it around Kim Dokja. Kim Dokja instantly turns red, and Yoo Joonghyuk lightly laughs at him. Kim Dokja's ears turn even redder, and Yoo Joonghyuk kisses him lightly on the lips.
"Let's keep walking, Dokja-yah."
"O-okay.."
They walk in silence, hands intertwined as they eventually catch up to the rest of the students. Many students turned their way when they finally caught up, Yoo Joonghyuk's popularity being far too high, and immediately, the whispers started.
It was mostly because Kim Dokja was just some random Hufflepuff student, while Yoo Joonghyuk was the Supreme King of Hogwarts, but Yoo Joonghyuk quickly shut down their whispering by glaring sharply at them.
"Hyuk-ah, it's okay-"
"Be quiet, Kim Dokja."
He was silent after that, letting Joonghyuk do whatever he wanted. After all, it was his birthday, so he would just let him do what he wanted.
When they finally reach Hogsmeade, the crowd of students quickly vanished into different shops, all of which were rather popular. However, Kim Dokja wanted to show Yoo Joonghyuk a special shop that was less popular, but even more spectacular than the popular shops, in his words.
He holds Yoo Joonghyuk's hand tighter, leading the way and ensuring that they don't get separated by the crowd.
They enter a shop called "Aileen's Workshop", and as shabby as the outside was, the inside was absolutely mesmerising. There were many clocks and watches everywhere, and even those olden houglasses that the wizards and witches used back then.
"Come on," Kim Dokja says, pulling him deeper into the shop. The one who greeted them was someone with short blonde hair, and they gave off a very androgynous look.
"Oh, it's you! The ugly guy," they say, and Yoo Joonghyuk shoots him a glare.
"Yes, yes, it's me, Hayoung. Joonghyukie, don't worry, they don't really mean it. It's just some old nickname."
"Hmph," Yoo Joonghyuk huffs, and Kim Dokja laughs lightly, squeezing their hands.
"Are you looking for Aileen?"
"Yeah, is she in the back?"
"Mhm, let me go get her."
Hayoung disappears into the back of the shop, and soon there was a loud "Jang Hayoung!" being yelled. Aileen, the shop owner, soon walks out, her hair messy and Jang Hayoung snickering at her.
"Hello, Kim Dokja, what can I do for you today.. oh? Who's this? You finally have a friend, I see."
"Aha.. this is my boyfriend, Yoo Joonghyuk," he replies sheepishly, and Aileen's eyes widen.
"Oh? Skipped the friend stage, didn't you?" Jang Hayoung pitches in, and Aileen loudly shushes them. They disappear into the back with a "geez, let me be" and Aileen turns back to them.
"So, what are you here for?"
"You know the thing I talked to you about in my letter? Uh, yeah. That."
"Oh, so that was for him?"
"Yes."
Yoo Joonghyuk is left out of the conversation. Not that he minds, but he's just very, very confused.
Aileen takes a small box out from under the counter, and hands it to Kim Dokja. It was pre-paid for, so Kim Dokja didn't need to pay for it then. He knew that Yoo Joonghyuk would flip out at the cost, so..
"Here, Hyuk-ah. Happy birthday."
Yoo Joonghyuk takes the box, and opens it. It's a silver pocket watch, and the design in the middle was a kkoma version of him, Kim Dokja and Han Sooyoung holding hands in the middle.
Kim Dokja twists a small knob at the side, and the little slot turns to the left to reveal another kkoma, but of him carrying Yoo Mia, and Namgung Minyoung standing beside them. Once he was done gaping at it, he turned it again, and it was of him and Kim Dokja, holding hands and kissing. It was very cute, and Yoo Joonghyuk found himself smiling slightly at it.
"So..? Do you like it?" Kim Dokja asks nervously, and Yoo Joonghyuk replies with absolutely zero hesitance.
"Yes. I love it, Kim Dokja. Thank you," he says, and Kim Dokja let out a breath he didn't even know he was holding in.
"Thank god, I thought you wouldn't like it."
"Why in the world wouldn't I? This is beautiful."
Yoo Joonghyuk smiles fondly at Kim Dokja, who was absolutely red because of how pretty he looked. Then, he kissed him, gently and lovingly.
When he pulled away, Kim Dokja was still processing everything, and gasped a bit when he realised that he had kissed him.
They leave the shop soon after, thanking Aileen and Jang Hayoung, and Kim Dokja belatedly realises that he's still wearing Yoo Joonghyuk's scarf.
"Joonghyukie, I still have your scarf! Aren't you cold?"
"Not after you gave me this," he says, looking at Dokja with the fondest eyes he'd ever seen. He's blushing again for the third time that day, and Yoo Joonghyuk teases him a bit about it.
The rest of the day goes by with the two enjoying their Hogsmeade trip, getting food (Kim Dokja fed Yoo Joonghyuk his lunch, and he was very, very happy.) and eventually returning to Hogwarts. They find Han Sooyoung waiting for them at the gate with Yoo Sangah, and waves a phone around at them.
"Aileen sent me a video, wanna see?"
Kim Dokja's mouth hangs open, and he runs over to snatch the phone away and delete the video, all while shouting curses at Han Sooyoung and Aileen, who wasn't even there. Yoo Sangah watched the scene, laughing, and Yoo Joonghyuk smiles at the little fight.
He was looking forward to his next birthday already.
