Chapter 5
Next day Harry received a letter from someone named Hagrid, inviting him and a couple of friends to a little chat that afternoon.
"Who is Hagrid?" Asked Harry to no one.
"Hagrid is the ground keeper that live at the border of the Forbidden Forest." Answered an older student.
Listening that Harry turned and asked if Ernie or Susan wanted to visit the man with him that afternoon, but booth refused.
That afternoon Harry, alone, visited Hagrid "little" hut were he was surprised by a huge dog barking to him, but the dog wasn't as huge as the man holding it.
"Good afternoon Harry. Don't worry about Fang, he is a softie." Said the huge man.
"Are you Hagrid?" Asked Harry a little unsure about the man's identity.
"Yes, I'm Hagrid, Hogwarts ground keeper. But that's not why I called you here today. I just wanted to know how where you doing in your firsts week of classes." Said Hagrid.
With thar they started to chat about Harry first class of every subject before Hagrid told him a few stories about his parents and how they did at Hogwarts at their time. Much of it was about "little" James and his friends pranks.
The weekend has passed eventless and a new week of classes began. With it Harry already tired of his lack of progress in trying to recreate the sensation of his magic flowing without a wand tried to ask professor Flitwick about it.
"The wand is nothing but a tool to connect the wizard to his magic." Said the diminutive professor. "But to create magic without a wand one need to fully know the paths take by the magic when casting. One can pass his whole life and not be able to cast a simple lighting charm wandless, or cast it with just a few casts of experience. It's just a matter of understanding one own magic."
By listening that Harry felt like he may have to work more on casting a spell before trying it wandless.
But the boy immediately pulled his wand and casted the simplest spell he knew, focusing on the felling his magic give him wille casting.
He did that four more times before rising his hand without a wand and repeated the same movement and words. This time he saw a little spark coming from his finger, but the sensation was less powerful and lasted as much as the spark, but now he knew that he was in the right path.
