Nonchalance
Draco panicked as he heard Hermione’s keys at the door of the flat. “Sheshomegottagobye!” he yelled quickly as he slammed down the phone. Unfortunately, his insistence on the courtesy of formally, albeit speedily, ending the call to Potter meant he had no time to move away from the phone table. He quickly tried to arrange himself into a nonchalant slouch, as if that were just a convenient place to lounge.
“I’m home, Draco! Were you on the phone with Harry just now?” Hermione looked much too pleased.
“No, of course not, Granger, I just like hanging out here. This table is very comfortable to lean on, you know. I’ve just been here all afternoon, it’s such a…pleasant…place to, uh…rest.” Draco felt his flimsy defense unraveling as Hermione swiftly crossed the room and gave him a long kiss. Draco groaned as she pulled away and smirked wickedly.
“Seeing as how you’re so well-rested now, I’m sure you won’t mind having dinner at Harry’s. I know it’s been ages since you’ve caught up with him, and he must be dying for some adult conversation after only talking to a three month old all day.”
