Evan and Barty were at a party with their friends. Evan was next to the food and Barty next to the speaker. People say eyes don’t lie, well it’s true they can’t. Even across the room you can see the feelings that they share. Not only those two, obviously, but for them you could see it even if you were not close to them.
Dark Red by Steve Lacy started to play and one pair of eyes was looking for his other half. Barty wanted to catch Evan’s attention. Everyone knows that they want each other but they don’t find the right moment to say it. Evan recognized one of his favorite music ever. He had dreams about Barty, really often, but the last one was with this music, so for a couple of seconds he was looking for Barty. With no surprise he was already looking at him. A smile appeared on his face.
The lyrics start and they can’t stop looking at each other.

Evan knows the lyrics by heart but he can’t sing it, he’s speechless. Barty is too beautiful to be real.
The chorus start and Barty begin singing it

But when Barty is singing he’s not saying my girl, he’s saying my boy with a little smile.
He starts to walk to be closer to Evan, but this one is not moving at all. He wants to but he is mesmerized by the sight of his friend, well not really his friend. I mean, do people feel butterflies because their friends are looking at them ? No, I don't think so.

Leaving him ? Never. He can’t be without him. People may say that this is toxic but to them it’s just love.
Evan was finally moving to be closer to Barty. He wanted to join him. There was only him, no one else existed. So slowly, he walked.

They were in the middle of the room. Everyone was here but they didn’t care about it.
Evan could finally hear Barty saying that he was he’s boy, he’s babe or even he’s darling.

And Evan kissed him again.
