James Potter
July 31st 1971:
When Minerva McGonagall first adopted Remus Lupin, only days after his arrival, she was unsure how life would go. Where would he stay when she was teaching and Poppy was always busy with injured students, so he could not stay with her while Minerva taught her students. How would they explain this all to their colleagues? What would they all think? All these questions were quickly answered and ended in a mostly positive result.
During classes Remus , at first, just stayed in Minerva's office , which was connected to her classroom so he was never unsupervised, and just read books or coloured in. Slowly as he grew more comfortable with Hogwarts and his new parents, he left the safety of the office and would sit next to Minerva's desk during classes, at first the students were confused by the sight of a small boy next to their transfiguration teacher but soon just accepted what was happening. Some students asked who the boy was and everyone soon got to know Remus J Lupin. Remus grew to be adored by most of Gryffindor house, as they saw him the most and usually offered to look after him for a bit.
The staff at first were concerned about Remus, all of them were aware of him being a werewolf and that put most of them on edge. But they all swore not to tell a soul about the boys' condition and soon grew very fond of him. Albus Dumbledore always offering Remus a sherbet lemon, which got Albus in a lot of trouble with Madam Pomfrey but he never listened to her and continued giving the boy sweets. "It's good for him!" Albus would laugh as Remus nodded along in agreement with a sherbet lemon in his house. Poppy had tried to argue but seeing her son give her such a big grin and pleading eyes she gave up and left the two be.
Although nobody spoiled Remus more than Pomona Sprout and Rolanda Hooch. The two had given themselves the roles of 'aunts' and were determined to become the boys favourite staff members. Which proved to be very easy when they kept giving him small wooden toys such as trains or animals, more colouring pencils than he would ever need and ,of course, snuck him sweets when Albus couldn't.
As Remus grew older and had now reached the age of 11, he had a constant smile on his face and was always up to trouble. He had learnt very quickly that he could get away with nearly anything the day after a full moon. Minerva and Poppy didn't know how they would help Remus with his transformations but Albus quickly told them he would have a place for Remus to transform safely. That is when Remus was first introduced to the Whomping Willow and Shrieking Shack. Both looked very run down and always sent shivers down his spine but it was like this so no one would try enter. Now Remus was used to the shack and always woke up to one of his mothers giving him chocolate. The day after a full moon he always was granted chocolate whenever he wanted it, Minerva and Poppy may not be able to fully help Remus during the full moon but they tried to make the day after and before more tolerable.

July 31st 1971:
Today was the day Remus had been waiting for since he had first learnt about Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. The day he would receive his letter from Hogwarts. He knew he would be getting a letter as both his Mum and Ma worked in Hogwarts and he already knew his way around the confusing castle. It was eight in the morning and he was sat in the living room, awaiting the owls to come with the mail. Minerva and Poppy both chuckled as they spotted their son sat on the sofa looking out the window. "Come help me make breakfast Remus. That'll help the time past faster!" Poppy told Remus and tapped his shoulder, the boy jumped having not noticed Poppy's presence but quickly nodded. "Okay Ma. Can I have toast?" Remus asked as he walked into the kitchen beside Poppy. "Of course, go grab what you want on it." Poppy already knew what Remus would want but making him grab the ingredients himself was keeping him busy. While Poppy waited for the toast to pop out the toaster Remus handed her the marmalade, jam, butter and lemon curd, Poppy laughed at how predictable her son was.
Meanwhile Minerva sat at the dining room table watching her wife and son make breakfast together while she drank her morning coffee. She watched the two fondly as they worked together, it was a sight she saw often but always cherished the joy seemed to have this early in the morning. Some days she considered changing career just so she could sleep in more, much to popular belief Minerva McGonagall was not a early bird but, as quoted by Poppy, an absolute nightmare to try get out of bed. "Mum help! Can't open the jar." Remus told her as he quickly walked over to her for help. He still had his Welsh accent but over the years it had softened into something you can understand. The first few months of adopting Remus the wives discovered his heavy accent and had a very hard time trying to translate it. Minerva took the jar from Remus and opened it with ease. "There you go." she smiled at him as he took the jar and lid into his hands and shook his head in disbelief "How do you do that!" he asked.
Before Minerva could answer a rapping at the window took his attention before he ran over to the window to let the owl, named Harip, in and give Harip a treat. Poppy and Minerva shared a look to each other and smiled as Remus ran back to them with a letter in hand "It came!" he grinned and was bouncing with excitement. "We see, what about you open it and read it?" Minerva prompted him as he gave a nod and opened the letter.
Dear Remus
We are pleased to inform you that you have been accepted at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry. Please find enclosed a list of all necessary books and equipment.
Term begins on September 1. We await your owl by no later than 31 July.
Yours sincerely,
Minerva McGonagall
Mum.
Remus grinned as he quickly read the letter than looked accusingly as Minerva. "You didn't tell me you wrote the letters!" He gasped in a very dramatic sense to show he was joking. "If I told you were would the fun be?" Minerva laughed at the boys pout but soon he was back to bouncing. "Does this mean we get to go to Diagon Alley?" he asked, his head tilting to the side slightly like a dog. Poppy chuckled before squeezing Remus's shoulder "Where else would you get your supplies? I believe we are meeting a couple of friends of ours. They have a boy your age who's also going to Hogwarts." Poppy told him quietly as to try calm down the boy who was obviously very excited. "Really?" he asked with his eyes full of wonder. "Yes but for now you better eat your toast otherwise Harip may decide to eat it himself." Minerva told him, tapping the plate with the untouched toast on it.

August 3 1971:
Remus walked alongside his mums as they entered Diagon Alley. The busy hustle of people moving along the rather small alley that had shops all the way along it was rather intimating for young Remus Lupin. He kept close to his mothers by walking in the middle of their group, from what Ma had told him they were meeting with two of their friends from school called Fleamont and Euphemia Potter or more commonly known as Monty and Effie Potter. Remus was excited to meet their son James but also nervous. What if James didn't like him? What if he found him weird that he had two mums? Some of the kids he had tried to befriend around Hogsmeade found it weird that he had two mums but he never really thought about it too much. 'If you don't like my mums than better off staying off.' was the quote Remus had created for himself for when people had found it weird.
Remus than quickly realises he had no need to worry when he first sees James Potter, who all but runs up to him and introduces himself. "Hi! I'm James. James Potter. What's your name?" James had black messy hair that seemed to do its own thing while his round glasses sat nicely on top of his nose, those were the first things Remus noted to himself. "Hello, I'm Remus Lupin. Nice to meet you." Remus smiled while James had a massive grin. "Nice name Remus. I heard that your going to Hogwarts. Lets make a deal." James held out his hand for Remus "A deal to be friends throughout our years inside that massive castle." James said with such confidence it made Remus laugh, James' grin faltered for a moment at Remus laughing but was quickly fixed when Remus grasped his hand inside his own. "You have a deal there James Potter." Remus shook his hand and James did the same.
"Seems they've become quick friends." Poppy points to the two boys who now walked ahead of the group. "Two boys raised by the former party animals of Gryffindor. What chaos is gonna happen for you to deal with Mins?" Monty laughed as he threw a arm around Minervas neck, she groaned at the mention of her school days or possibly just at Monty annoying her again. "Remus is rather quiet. I'm sure he'll keep out of trouble." she objected as she and Monty bickered, both not noticing their wives falling behind them. "We can both agree our sons will the death of them, yeah?" Effie asked while Poppy snickered "Can't wait to see their faces when they realise how wrong they are."
