First Mission

Doing magic was not that easy or at least not for him who comes from a modern world where magic could be limited to reading tarot or interpreting dreams, his Transfiguration class was disastrous, his friends and even Professor McGonagall looked at him in surprise, he made an excuse about his arm injury and how it was hindering his ability to do magic, although his injured arm was the left one...

When he and his classmates went to his Slytherin classmates on their way to the dungeons for their shared class with the Gryffindors the system window appeared in front of him once again.

【 Mission #1 issued. Location: Dungeons (Potions classroom) Mission:
Prompt the protagonist to investigate further about the criminal "Sirius Black". Please click to accept. 】

Right below there were two buttons [accept] and [ACCEPT] he didn't seem to have many options really, he kept his eyes on one of the options and the following announcement appeared:

【 Mission successfully accepted. Please read the
conditions of the scenario. Good luck!! 】

He sighed frowning, he read the conditions of the scenario
【 The criminal Sirius Black is on the loose, he must get the main character interested in this character to investigate his past.】

Well, it seemed pretty simple actually... he opened his eyes in surprise when he saw an addition.
【 Punishment for failure: -200 points】

That was an exaggeration! He barely had 110 points... he let out a sigh.

"System how do I get more points?" the voice of google translator asked mentally and didn't take long.

【The user will be able to get points as long as their performances are faithful to the original character "Draco Malfoy" as well as completing quests, collecting special items and completing hidden plot points】

Draco sat with his fellow Pansy talking nonsense for a change, when Professor Snape started the class and indicated that they should do he found a rewarding similarity to the potions class with chemistry, he always did well in chemistry in his world, but the broken arm made the whole issue of cutting the ingredients difficult.

— Potter help Mr. Malfoy cut his ingredients — said Professor Snape, Draco frowned slightly he didn't want the protagonist to be made to do things for him, it would probably only make things harder in the future.

— Professor, it won't be necessary, I'm perfectly capable of cutting my ingredients

【 OOC!】
The system exclaimed, but proceeded to ignore it, Snape raised an eyebrow.

— Is that so, Mr. Malfoy?

— Yes, Professor, I'm afraid Potter might spoil my ingredients... — he said with that arrogant tone he had been perfecting the last few days, the Slytherins giggled, even Snape seemed slightly amused by his answer.

Draco realized that until that moment he had not seen the protagonist face to face, when the black-haired boy sat down on the chair next to him he was almost blinded by the golden color with which the trail above his head that marks his name "Harry Potter - The Boy Who Lived" shone.

The black-haired boy gave him a serious and cold look, those green eyes piercing him like daggers, the blond remained unperturbed.

— Potter, give your ingredients to Mr. Malfoy then — said Snape with an almost condescending tone, naturally to annoy the Gryffindor.

【 +20 B points for affinity with the character. Total points 130】

Well it definitely turned out a bit worse than he planned, but he got points for being a jerk and that was a positive, Potter handed him his ingredients with a look of hatred, but the Gryffindor didn't protest, even though he looked like he wanted to kill him.

— Thank you, Potter, how thoughtful... he said sarcastically causing another giggle among his house and Harry's frown to deepen even more, while he had to cut everything again, Draco didn't say anything, in fact he was somewhat confused, wasn't Harry Potter an impetuous Gryffindor? He wondered what had happened, what was wrong? That Harry was somewhat different from the Harry he remembered from the original work, he didn't say anything and began to work on his potion, Harry too, but he noticed that Harry's wasn't coming out right.

— Mix it counterclockwise. — he said without even looking up from his cauldron.

Harry looked at the blond, confused and angry. Was he mocking or was he serious?

— And why should I listen to you, eh? — he said haughtily.

— Well, you should if you don't want your cauldron to explode before Longbottom's, Potter…

There was no mockery in his tone. Harry considered it. If he was sabotaging him, he would make sure to break the blond's nose. He followed his instructions and was surprised when he got the right color and consistency. He glanced at Malfoy out of the corner of his eye, who had a slight smug smile.

— You're welcome, Potter — he mentioned mockingly. Harry naturally didn't answer.

【 + 5 points with the protagonist. Total 135】
That was a really interesting discovery, the rules of the system were not inflexible, if you were "good" without crossing the OOC line nothing would happen and apparently interactions with the protagonist gave you points, that was quite a discovery.
He was brought out of his thoughts when a Gryffindor boy said.

— Hey Harry, have you heard? In the Prophet they said that they saw Sirius Black — the boy said while taking the bronze scale that Harry was using.

Draco remained silent seeing how the subject seemed to interest perhaps too much the boy who lived. Harry turned interested when he saw him.

— Where? — the green-eyed man asked curiously.

— They say that a muggle saw him and called the authorities, but when the aurors arrived there was no sign of Black — the boy explained. — It was near Hogsmade

— Mn... — Draco hummed. — So you plan to learn the criminal by yourself, Potter?

— Naturally — Harry replied in a defiant tone.

— Of course, if I were you, I wouldn't stay still studying like a normal student is supposed to — the blond answered mixing his potion.

— What do you mean, Malfoy? — Ron asked joining in the conversation.

— What I mean, weasel — he said using a condescending tone. — Is that why would a criminal like Black be in Hogsmade? He must be looking for something... or someone

He left the question hanging in the air watching the black-haired man think about it.
【 +10 B!】He was getting very good at pretending to be Malfoy.

Class ended, Draco watched Harry talk to Ron and Hermione, the system tab reappeared.

【 Congratulations! Congratulations! Congratulations! Good news must be said three times. The user has successfully completed his first mission, he has obtained +100 points. Total 245 points】

He raised an eyebrow, it really was very easy, was it due to his status as a mediocre antagonist? or because it was his first mission? But regardless of that he had complied with the system's demands, now his next step was to prevent them from using the Time-Turner, since in his opinion it was the biggest plot hole, Harry and Hermione used the Time-Turner, they practically saw each other more than once and nothing happened, and if you thought carefully they should have actually been trapped in some kind of loop, but none of those details were addressed in the original work.

Pansy helped him wash his cauldron while he put away his things and got ready to go to lunch, he continued to consider what he should do, he should prevent them from killing the Hippogriff, but his father naturally spoke to his contacts at the Ministry and he didn't even have the chance to object because when that happened he was still unconscious... he had to find a way to save the Hippogriff and prevent Harry Potter and Hermione Granger from using the Time-Turner, he continued with his thoughts and since he received no warnings from the system he assumed it was okay.

"System, how important is the use of the Time-Turner for the main plot?"
He consulted while walking towards the Great Hall

【 Well it could be considered an addition, although if they don't use the Time-Turner the protagonist could be in danger of death】

"But even in that case the protagonist halo would save him right? In some way or another, is there any restriction about interfering in these events?"

【 ...】The system didn't really answer anything, minutes later it appeared again 【 Not directly, but the OOC will be punished according to the severity of the action by removing points】

Draco sighed, he was already fed up with the system and the OOC issue, but he couldn't complain, well he had more or less a month to plan what to do that day

⊱⊱ ──── ⊰·☆·⊱──── ⊰⊰

After lunch they had a Defense Against the Dark Arts class, their first class to be precise, he always liked the character of Remus Lupin and now he would be his teacher, how lucky. He knew that the first class would be about a Boggart. He tried to remember if Malfoy had any relevance, as he remembered even though the class was shared by Gryffindor and Slytherin in reality only the Gryffindors were talked about.

He entered the classroom, he wasn't even paying attention to be honest, Crabbe nudged him lightly bringing him out of his reverie, apparently the teacher asked him something.

"Could you repeat the question professor?" he said without losing his calm, praying to have the correct answer.

"What charm can you use to defeat a Boggart?" Lupin asked looking at him expectantly.

— With the "Riddíkulus" charm

Lupin smiled slightly, although clearly surprised as were the Gryffindors and the Slytherins themselves, Draco apparently did not pay attention and knew the correct answer, the blond gave them a superior look.

— Perfect, 10 points for Slytherin — said Lupin — well then repeat after me "Riddíkulus"

— "Riddíkulus" ! — repeated all the students.

— Very well — nodded Lupin — now in this cupboard there is a boggart and I will need a volunteer, would you mind coming forward Mr. Longbottom?

Neville hesitated but came forward.

— Excellent, now could you tell us what scares you the most? — Neville did not answer immediately, then muttered something. — could you say it louder?

Lupin didn't really get angry, he was kind, the professor practically radiated a fatherly air, Neville relaxed a little.

— What scares me the most is Professor Snape...
Everyone giggled, even Lupin seemed amused by the situation.

— Professor Snape... um... Neville, I think you live with your grandmother, is that true?.

— Yes, — Neville answered nervously. — But I wouldn't want the boggart to turn into her either.

— No, no. You don't understand me— said Professor Lupin, smiling. — What I want to know is if you could explain to us what your grandmother normally dresses like.

Neville was scared, but said:
— Well, she always wears the same hat: tall, with a stuffed vulture on it; and a long dress... usually green; and sometimes, a fox fur scarf.

— And a handbag? — Professor Lupin helped him.

— Yes, a big red handbag— Neville confirmed.

— Well, then — said Professor Lupin— . can you clearly remember that outfit, Neville? Can you see it in your mind’s eye?”

— Yes,— said Neville, uncertainly, wondering what would happen next.

— When the boggart suddenly emerges from this cupboard and sees you, Neville, it will take the form of Professor Snape,— said Lupin. — You will then raise your wand, like this, and say out loud: Riddikulo!”, concentrating on your grandmother’s outfit. If all goes well, the boggart Professor Snape will have to put on the hat, the green dress, and the large red bag.

There was general laughter. The cupboard shook more violently.

— If Neville succeeds, he will most likely take the form of one of your fears, so take a moment to think about what scares you most and a fun way to overcome it.

Draco thought for a moment, he knew that the Boggart probably wouldn't attack the Slytherins, or at least that's what it said in the original play, they were basically just decoration, although he took a moment to think about his biggest fear... What could it be...? Maybe dying? In theory he was already dead, but if he died now in his role as Draco Malfoy it would be official and there would be no third chances... Maybe his fear now wasn't dying but being discovered, someone who knew the future... that wasn't usually positive in any kind of story...

— Ready? — asked Lupin.

Draco almost wanted to ask for more time, so far half of the things he had experienced as Draco Malfoy were far from being the same as the original play, and what if the Boggart attacked him? What if he wasn't able to perform the spell?
Then the professor opened the cupboard, Professor Snape came out of it, with his hooked nose and threatening gesture. He glared at Neville. Neville leaned back, wand raised, mouth moving without saying a word. Snape was approaching him, about to grab him by the robes...
— Ri... Riddíkulus!— said Neville.
There was a crack like a whip. Snape stumbled: he was wearing a long dress trimmed with lace and a tall hat topped with a moth-eaten vulture. A huge red bag hung from his hand.
There was a general laugh.

Draco burst out laughing, perhaps it could be considered OOC but the system didn't seem to bother him now, so the students went by one by one, he was surprised to see that Pansy's Boggart was a giant rat and it was even funnier to see that after the spell the rat transformed into a stuffed animal, then the boggart hesitated between Harry and Draco, as if not knowing what form to take.

They briefly looked at each other, dressed in grey and emerald, both readying their wands, all looking expectantly, then Professor Lupin stood in front of them. For a second they all looked around with wide eyes, searching for the Boggart. Then they saw a silvery white sphere floating in the air, in front of Lupin, who said Riddikulus! almost reluctantly.

Crack!
— Go ahead, Neville, and finish him off!— said Lupin as the boggart fell to the ground in cockroach form. Crack! There was Snape again. This time, Neville moved forward with determination.

— Riddikulus!— he shouted, and for a split second they caught a glimpse of Snape dressed as a granny, before Neville let out a laugh and the boggart burst into a thousand wisps of smoke and disappeared.

— Very well! — Professor Lupin shouted as the class erupted in applause.

Draco was visibly relieved, Harry was somewhat frustrated, it had been obvious that the professor deliberately intervened in front of them, but the question was why? Besides, there was something peculiar about Malfoy lately... was he too quiet? He didn't know what it was and in theory it shouldn't matter, but it didn't bother him or his friends anymore, he seemed too lost in his thoughts to focus on anything else, Malfoy was up to something, he didn't know what, but he knew he was up to something. Harry watched the blond leave with the other Slytherins who were still laughing and talking like his friends, he saw Malfoy's thoughtful expression and his gaze met his again, Harry quickly looked away leaving with Ron and Hermione.
