The Hogwarts Express
Sage found herself at King Cross station, with a trunk full of supplies and an aquatic grey owl that she decided to name 'Ocean'. her head was still filled with curiosity and excitement at what she'd just witnessed; the man named Dumbledore had taken her to a place called Gringotts , to reveal that Sage was the soul heiress of two of the richest wizarding families in Britain! she couldn't believe the amount of gold piled up in her vault,... ( and to think that she'd been living off of scraps and hand-me-downs!...)
Diagon Alley was an amazing place! all the people and the shops, and the amazing pets that she had to choose from! sure she had lots of questions on her mind, mostly about her parents, but all what Dumbledore could say to her, was that they were both wizards(obviously she could've guessed by now) but he always seemed to dodge the subject of their death, and Sage had given up on getting any other information from him.
what Dumbledore seemed quite excited to discuss however, was what he called "Muggle Sweets"
"So it's called brownies then!? splendid!... do you know how to make those?"
"... Of course... Miss Gaddot always made me bake things for her son's birthdays... she says its cheaper than ordering from shops, and i'd always get to keep a piece" she caught herself revealing too much again! ... "Umm don't wizards have chocolate?' she asked trying not to dwell on Miss Gaddot too much
"But of course we do" said Dumbledore, "It's just a bit different i suppose... but all sweets are wonderful really.. except for certain nasty every-flavor beans"
Sage found herself smiling at that
'Now, now..." said Dumbledore, "as much as I'm having fun discussing muggle treats with you Sage, I'm afraid that i must leave you here, I've got important business to tend to, but don't worry... we will see each other more often than you think" he said with a wink, "here's your train ticket now, you must stick to it , it's important"
and with that, the strange man disappeared with no warnings!
Sage was even more surprised to see that the number on her ticket was 9. 3/4... 'nine and three quarters!" thought Sage, there's no such thing , is there? but then again, few days ago she used to think that there was no such thing as wizards or magic!
"Excuse me sir," she heard a boy talking to a policeman at the station, "Do you know where platform nine and three quarters?"
Sage gasped
"Nine and three quarters? you think you're being funny do you?" said the unamused man before he walked away from the boy. She could now get a better look at him, he was a bit taller than then her, with green eyes, round spectacles which seemed to be held together by a duck tape, he had a very messy jet black hair, and was also dragging a suitcase and a cage which had a very beautiful snowy owl. the boy stopped to look at sage as well, probably because they were the only ones with owls in that place. Sage gathered some courage and pushed her trolley towards the boy and asked,
"Umm.. hello... are you looking for platform nine and three quarters as well?"
the boy looked relieved to hear that he was not the only one
"Yes! yes! finally!' he said excitedly, "I'm Harry... Harry Potter" he said extending a hand for her
"and I'm Sage Oakwood... good to meet you Harry"
"You too... are you as lost as me?"
"yes! who do you think we should ask?'
'well definitely not the cops" harry said sarcastically
.....
"Every year! packed with Muggles of course!" said a complaining woman's voice.
at these words, both Sage and Harry turned to see a group of redheaded people walking towards the place between platform nine and platform ten, the woman, was a bit short and plump and holding hands with a girl who seemed to be around their age, besides her there was an older boy with curly hair, to identical boys who were tall and had a strong built to them, and a younger boy who seemed as confused as they were. Harry and Sage decided to come closer and see what they were up to.
"Alright Percy you go first" said the woman . and with that, the oldest boy went running quickly into the wall between the two platforms and disappeared behind it! Harry and Sage looked at each other then quickly ran towards the strange redheaded family.
"Alright Fred you're next" said the woman
"He's not Fred, I'am! " shouted one of the twins,
"Honestly woman, you call yourself our mother!" said the other
Sage couldn't help but smile, especially after finding out that the mother was right in the first place, and that it was just the twins who liked playing tricks like that.
"Umm, ,, excuse me" said Harry to the older woman, "would you mind telling us how.."
"How to get to the platform?" said the redheaded woman with a kind smile , "oh not to worry dears.." she was smiling at them both, and Sage couldn't help but think that this was the first time in her life that someone had called her "dear''
"not to worry dears...: said the woman, "it's Ron's first time as well" she said pointing at her younger son who looked at them both with a shy smile on his face
"Now" said the woman, "all you got to do is to walk straight to the wall between platform nine and ten... best do it in a bit of a run if you're nervous"
.......................
Sage's surprise was immeasurable, as she crossed the barrier and found herself in a different train station standing in front of a big steam train heading to Hogwarts! her and Harry had made their way into an empty compartment and sat opposite to one another, it was only then that Sage noticed that Harry's clothes were as baggy and dreadful as hers, which made her feel slightly less embarrassed , but also bad.
"Umm.. do you happen to know anything about Hogwarts?" the boy said
"not at all! i thought you'd be the one to tell me!" said sage, "I've actually been brought here by a very tall man with funny clothes and a beard who wouldn't tell me anything important"
"Hagrid!?' said Harry with a shock
"what's Hagrid?... oh no his name was Dumbledore. do you know him? "
"No" answered Harry
few seconds later, there was a scream from the next compartment and both Harry and Sage went out to look, some older boy was running away from what seemed to be a spark of flame chasing him everywhere, once it reached him , it entered his ears and turned his hair green
"that was wicked!" Sage found herself saying
"Well thank you very much me-lady!" said a voice from behind her, she turned to see one of the twins taking a dramatic bow
"Finally someone appreciates the art" said his brother
"I'M GOING TO REPORT YOU TO PERCY" shouted the boy with the green hair before making his way to the other end of the train
"I'm Fred" said one of the twins, extending a hand to Sage then to Harry, "And I'm George, the better-looking one" said the other
"I'm Sage"
"I'm Harry"
"Nice to meet you two, would love to stay and chat but dear old Percy will probably be looking for us now" said Fred
"and you shouldn't be suspected of helping us,,, we wouldn't want you to get a bad reputation since day one, that's our own personal record" add George
"see ya" they both said and made their way to their compartment
"Excuse me, do you mind? everywhere else's full" said the boy named Ron who now was standing at Sage and Harry's door
"Oh not at all" they both said
"I'm Ron Weasley by the way"
"And I'm Sage Oakwood"
And I'm "Harry Potter", as soon as he said that, Ron's expressions changed and Sage was confused why
"Bloody Hell!" he said... "Umm.. do you really have the.... the.."
"The what?' asked harry
"Scar" said Ron almost in a whisper"
"Oh" Harry nodded, pushing his hair up , revealing a lightning bolt shaped scar on his forehead
"Wicked!" said Ron
"Are you famous or something?" Sage asked
"well i..."
"Excuse me... has anyone seen a toad? a boy named Neville's lost one" said a girl with bushy brown hair who came to the compartment
"Umm,, no" the three of them said,
but it seemed that Hermione had insisted on staying with them for a few minutes, making Ron feel stupid about not knowing how to do magic, fixing Harry's glasses, and yapping to Sage about how she 'd already read everything in their school books
"So there are four houses that we'll be sorted in' Hermione explained, " Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin... I personally hope I'm in Gryffindor, it's the best one of all.. Dumbledore himself was in it.."
"Dumbledore!? he's the man who brought me here"
Ron and Hermione's jaws dropped
"ALBUS DUMBLEDORE HAD TAKEN YOU SHOPPING IN DIAGON ALLEY?!!" they both said in disbelief
"well.. yes.. and we had muggle ice cream together before that... why? is he some sort of celebrity?" Sage asked confusedly
"CELEBRITY?" Ron gasped
"Sage! he's the headmaster of our school and only the greatest wizard that ever lived!" Hermione added
she was about to say something before she took a look at her watch, "well... I'd love to know more about it, but you'll tell me later won't you? because now, you three better change into robes, i expect we'll be arriving soon... and you've got dirt , on your nose by the way... did you know?"
"whatever house she's in, I hope I'm not in it" Said Ron, and Harry nodded in agreement
