Chapter 8
Most of the marauders had their afternoon off, so they agreed to spend it in the common room.
Remus and Sirius decided to sit down by the window, partly because they wanted to smoke and partly because they wanted to be just a bit further from the others.
James and Lily sat side by side at the right edge of the couch, across the fire and James had his arm around Lily, who was leaning against him, drinking his scent in and letting herself be.
Mary was on the floor, next to the fireplace and talking to Marlene and Dorcas, so effortlessly as if the feelings in her heart, had vanished the night before.
Peter wasn't with them this time, probably still wonder around at the library.
Remus admired what he saw. They really were his family. Well, Lily and James were definitely the parents, the more mature ones - theoretically.
Sirius was sitting on a chair beside the window, gazing at Remus' face drinking him, also, in, smiling to himself as he watched him exhale the smoke from his mouth.
When he finished it, he opened Sirius' legs to sit down at the empty spot on the chair and rested his body on his chest, making a low, sweet, satisfied noise.
'' You feel so good, my love. '', Sirius whispered to his ears and stroked his curls with one finger, putting his other hand on Remus', giving it a soft squeeze.
Remus squeezed it back and smiled, as he blushed at Sirius' words and touch.
They lost themselves in each other's arms, and forgot about the place and the people they were with.
Remus had closed his eyes and put his neck back on his very beautiful, much comfortable humanchair.
He opened his eyes just a bit, lifted his free, right hand and put it on Sirius' to draw little stars and hearts on his skin and massage the veins underneath.
'' I could really get used to this, you know. Not you - I would never get used to you, but just...this. Us. Together. In love. '', Remus felt his boyfriend's heart raising underneath him with excitement and heard a very quite chuckle leaving his throat.
'' I love you, Moony. And I really, really want us to stay like this. Forever. ''
Remus was melting on the inside. His stomach was twisting with joy and his heart was dancing under the voice of his beloved - his favorite kind of music.
At that moment, he noticed Mary had gone up and put on a record playing.
'' And I love her '', by the Beatles, was echoing the room, turning it into a warm, cozy place. They didn't really need the fire anymore.
'' AND IF YOU SAW MY LOVE, YOU'D LOVE HER TOOOO. '', Mary started dancing and singing these beautiful lyrics and Remus couldn't help, but wonder to whom those words were addressed to.
'' Get up! '', Sirius lifted his body gently, with excitement and moved them to the middle of the room. He turned up the volume and took Remus in his arms with such care and passion that Remus felt his knees freezing in place.
He couldn't have wish for more.
Lily and James, also, got up and danced more vividly than the other couple, laughing and kissing each other's noses and cheeks and lips so delicately, carefully and gently, as if they were made of glass and about to break.
Mary went to get the girls up to their now '' friendmade stage'', but Dorcas just smiled and preferred to watch them from the ground.
'' Will you at least do me the honor, my darling?! '', Mary giggled at Marlene and gave her her hand. She took it and went beside Remus and Sirius.
'' Hello, my ladies. Having a nice evening yourselves? '', Sirius teased them with a very brittish accent.
'' Oh, such a gentleman. '', the girls said in unison and turned to look at each other and laughed at once.
Remus tried to hide his smile.
They would be soo good together.
Oh shut up, you dork. Dorcas is amazing.
He returned to his partner and gave him a big, happy smile, knowing his heart was about to burst from the happiness.
'' It's illegal you know. '', Sirius looked away.
'' Pardon? ''
'' To look this beautiful and... lovely. It's illegal. '', Sirius was blushing big time and Remus laughed, turning his chin to his direction to give him a kiss on the forehead.
'' If I fell '' was next, by the same album and Remus questioned again the thoughts that had been living in Mary's mind.
It was a really, really nice song. You could feel your ears being treated by the music and the lyrics. Honestly, it was one of Remus' favorite albums ever - '' A hard day's night. ''
Sirius went a step back, took Remus' hands and twirled him so slow and sweet, that they both smiled at the gesture.
They held their hands between their chests, being closer than before, without caring about the others being around.
Sirius brushed his lips gently against Remus' mouth, sending goosebumps to his body.
They pressed their lips together one more time and made that kiss a little different from the other.
It lasted longer and it was soft, welcoming, loving. It wasn't much of a kiss, at the beginning, as they just tried not to crack a smile and ruin the moment. But then, they moved their mouths very slowly, as if they were afraid of falling apart.
The song was about to end, when Sirius moved away to go see his records.
'' Hold on. ''
He was definitely between
'' Somebody to love '' and '' Love of my life. ''
Eventually, he chose the second song, as to be expected.
He walked over to Remus, with a kind smile on his face and waited for the lyrics to begin.
'' Oh, you old softie. '', Lily teased him, though she looked a little impressed at the gesture and the choice of the song.
Sirius didn't take his eyes off of his love.
'' I hope you'll never hurt me. '', Remus realized he was quoting the lyrics.
'' I don't plan to. '', Remus whispered, so that only Sirius could hear. Then, he rested his forehead on his and placed both of his hands on each side of his waist.'' Trust me, when I grow older, I will be there at your side, to remind you how much I love you. '', it was his turn to quote, but didn't feel exactly like the case, considering that fact that he did rather hope the lyrics would come true.
