going wild (in my mind)

Fuck fuck fuck. Regina is abso-fucking-lutely fucked. Why did she say yes? This was such a horrible idea. What if her Maman finds out? What if she doesn’t actually like Regina? Regina knows there’s only one person she can talk to, her brother.

Agreeing to go on a date with Marlene was a horrible decision, there’s too much at stake.

Regina is practically running through the halls of Hogwarts to find her idiot of a brother. Sirius could always find her, but Regina never could seem to find him.

Marlene and Regina had originally met through mutual friends, Dorcas and Sirius, but they soon found they had similar interests. They never hung out outside of group things, but it seemed like they, intentionally or not, gravitated toward each other. Regina always thought the older girl was bewitching, and she found, once she got to know her, that Marlene’s personality matched her looks.

Regina’s mind drifts off to when Marlene asked her out, not even half an hour ago.

Regina had been flying around the quidditch pitch with Dorcas, running drills before the next match against Hufflepuff in a few weeks. Marlene had appeared at the edge of the pitch. When Regina noticed her, the girl waved her over. Like the fool she is Regina went down.

“You look good out there,” Marlene had told Regina stepping closer. The shorter girl blushed furiously at the compliment.

“Thank you,” Regina answered after the silence had stretched on too long, almost uncomfortably so.

“I was wondering if this Saturday, you’d want to go on a date in Hogsmeade with me,” Marlene pushed one of Regina’s unruly curls out of her face, she had been stunned silent. “I’d pick you up from your dorm at ten, and we’d do whatever in town,” Marlene had explained to a shocked Regina.

Regina barely even registered saying yes before the words were out of her mouth. Marlene had smiled softly and leaned down slightly to kiss her cheek. Regina blushed furiously as the other girl walked away.

Dorcas had flown down eventually to ask what happened, Regina just said she’d tell her later. After that Regina changed fast.

Now she was here, running around looking for her brother.

Regina turns a corner and sees Sirius pushed up against a wall by Lupin, and she wants to curl up and die. Of fucking course when she sees her brother he’s getting snogged against a fucking wall. Regina walks up to the couple.

“Sirius!” She exclaims at her brother. Lupin all but shoves himself off of Sirius. Sirius’ face is flushed, though embarrassment at being caught doesn't seem to be the reason because he looks completely unrepentant. Lupin is blushing and looking anywhere but Regina, at least someone has the decency to be embarrassed.

“What do you want, I’m busy, ” Sirius huffs crossing his arms.

“I agreed to go on a date,” Regina informs her brother panic so clearly lining her voice.

“Oh, that’s lovely Reggie,” Sirius’ annoyed face turns soft. Sirius somehow misses Regina’s clear panic. “Who’s the lucky boy so I know who to threaten,” Sirius questions attempting (and failing) at a stern expression, his excitement for his little sister is evident in the smile he’s fighting.

“She’s… not a boy,” Regina mutters.

“Oh… oh! That’s great Reg, but the question still stands, who?” Sirius smiles. Regina shifts nervously and pulls her bottom lip between her teeth.

“Um… it’s… Marlene,” Regina’s voice is barely above a whisper.

“What?” Sirius asks confusion showing on his face.

“She said Marlene,” Remus supplies even though he’s significantly farther than Sirius from Regina. Regina glares at Remus and he takes this as his cue to leave and wait somewhere for Sirius.

“What!” Sirius shrieks his voice significantly higher than his normal tone. “You’re not allowed to date my friends!” He continues with a deep frown and a furrow in his brows.

“I came to you to ask for advice not to get yelled at,” Regina shouts back. Sirius takes a few long deep breaths before continuing the conversation.

“Ugh, I fucking hate this, but tell me your troubles,” Sirius sighs deeply rubbing the bridge of his nose.

“What if Maman finds out?” Regina asks nervously. Sirius flinches a tiny at ‘Maman’.

“Marlene is a girl, it wouldn’t matter to her,” Sirius answers after a second of thought.

Regina wraps her arms around herself. She shifts uncomfortably before she looks around the hallway to make sure it’s empty. “But if she can find out about going on a date with a girl then she’d surely know about… you know,” Regina gestures vaguely to herself.

“I’m pretty sure after you almost fucking drowned Mulciber in your fourth year no one will fuck with you,” Sirius points out. Regina wants to argue, but it does admittedly make her feel more at ease. She hides a smile.

“I know, but I have a constant voice in the back of my mind saying, ‘What if Maman finds out?’,” Regina sighs the almost-smile she had dropping. “She might’ve been okay with it before you left, but now they need an heir,” Regina continues sadly.

“I’m so sorry Reggie, that was never my intention. It’ll be fine, but don’t go if you aren’t one hundred percent sure, I don't want you to regret it,” Sirius tells his little sister with a sad smile.

“No I really want to, it’ll be worth it if Maman finds out. I’ve liked Marlene for a while now,” Regina tells her brother with a soft smile returning to her face.

“I’m glad for you then,” Sirius smiles back clapping a hand on Regina’s shoulder. “I will still threaten her even though we’re friends,” he adds after a moment. Regina groans and rolls her eyes, pushing Sirius’ hand off of her shoulder.

“Should I tell her about… my er little problem?” Regina asks awkwardly, again looking around uneasily.

Sirius thinks for a moment. “Marlene is great, so you have nothing to worry about really, I’m not gonna tell you what to do but I think you should,” he finally says. Regina nods. “How long have you liked Marlene,” Sirius shifts the topic suddenly.

“Oh umm, I guess a couple of months or so,” Regina blushes.

“You’re so… different from Marlene though,” Sirius laughs.

Regina shrugs. “We have similar interests,” she looks at her shoes and bites back a smile.

“Like what?” Sirius presses on, trying to be supportive of his little sister.

“We both play quidditch, and umm we talk about art sometimes, and she also likes animals,” Regina answers thinking of their past conversations. Sirius hums. “It’s interesting to talk to her even if it’s not the stuff we both like,” Regina adds sensing her older brother’s hesitation.

“As long as you’re happy,” Sirius tells his younger sister. Regina doesn’t need the approval of her brother, but it still feels nice to have. “When is Marls taking you out?” Sirius speaks up.

“Oh um, tomorrow at ten,” Regina replies.

“Wow that’s soon, she asked you today?” Sirius asks with a shocked look. Regina nods with a flush returning to her face.  Sirius thinks for a moment. “Ooo, let me come to your dorm to help you pick out an outfit,” he says excitedly.

Regina knows better than to say no, Sirius will keep asking until she says yes, and if Regina doesn’t agree Sirius won’t listen. Regina huffs out a sigh and nods.

“Let me go tell Moony, he’s still around the corner I think,” Sirius runs off to where it was Lupin walks away. After a few minutes, Sirius skips back. “Okay let’s go now,” he tells his sister.

“Sirius we’ve been doing this for hours,” Regina groans. They even missed dinner, luckily Dorcas brought her and Sirius some dinner.

“I want you to knock the fucking socks off of Marlene,” Sirius says for the hundredth time. “Even if it is weird for you to be going out with one of my friends,” he adds also for the hundredth time.

“I know, Merlin I know,” Regina rolls her eyes. “I liked the last outfit,” she sighs exasperatedly.

“Yes but you didn’t love it,” Sirius reasoned.

“Look Sirius, it’s late I’m tired you’re tired, I’ll figure it out in the morning,” Regina rubbed her eyes.

“Fine,” Sirius conceded with a yawn. Sirius waved his wand to put away all the clothes. He walked over to where Regina was lying on her bed. Sirius hugged his younger sister. “Goodnight Reggie,” he whispers in his sister’s ear.

“Goodnight Siri,” Regina responds barely awake. Sirius walks out with a wave goodbye. Regina rolls over in her bed and passes the fuck out.

“Regina! Marlene is here,” Dorcas shakes Regina, who wakes with a jolt. She didn’t even get under the covers last night.

“Fuck, I forgot to set my alarm,” Regina looks at her clock, 10:03 am. Regina quickly gets up and runs to the bathroom to get ready. “Dorcas, can you get out an outdoor for me?” Regina asks from the bathroom her voice muffled from a toothbrush.

“Yup!” The older Slytherin girl answers thankfully understanding Regina.

Regina quickly does her routine, she puts up her spells, one to feminize her features, and another to change the pitch of her voice. She quickly puts on some simple makeup.

Dorcas gives her an outfit, and Regina changes in the bathroom, without bothering to see what it is. Before Regina can run outside the common room to meet Marlene, Dorcas stops her. She waves her wand at Regina’s hair.

“I put it in a bow,” She explains. Regina nods grabs her bag and runs out. Marlene is waiting outside of the Slytherin house when Regina finally gets there.

“Sorry I’m late, forgot to set my alarm,” Regina explains shyly.

“It’s fine,” Marlene smiles. “You look beautiful,” She adds looking Regina up and down. Regina blushes.

“You too,” Regina answers looking at Marlene and then herself. Marlene is in a pair of black trousers.  She has a blue pin-striped button-up shirt, untucked with the sleeves rolled up to her elbows, and a yellow tie loose around her neck.

Regina has on a black skirt with a matching black tank top, she has on a soft pink sweater that matches her long socks.

“Ready?” Marlene asks holding her arm out for Regina to take. Regina nods and takes the Gryffindor’s arm. Before they could get too far Regina stopped them in an empty hallway.

“Um, before we get too far I have to tell you… something,” Regina says quietly.

“Sure,” Marlene urges.

“This will probably change how you see me,” Regina explains.

“I’m pretty sure you could tell me you killed a man, and I would just like you more,” Marlene smiles. Regina blushes and has to hide a smile.

“Okay, um… I’m erm… transgender,” Regina tells the older girl nervously waiting to get rejected.

“That’s okay, Reg it changes absolutely nothing,” Marlene says in a voice soft with affection. Regina looks down in embarrassment, chewing on her lip. Marlene lifts her chin with a finger. “You have nothing to be embarrassed about baby, I’m glad you told me,” Marlene said with a soft smile. Regina blushed furiously at the pet name. Marlene let the other girl’s chin go and held her arm out again.

Regina took it with a smile and Marlene led the pair to continue their walk.

“Are you excited for the game next weekend?” Marlene asks conversationally.

“Yes, though Dorcas has been working us to death,” Regina rolls her eyes thinking of how much extra practice she’s had to do. “I kind of understand though, Hufflepuff is always so ruthless. Everyone thinks they’re the nice house, but I think they’re the worst of us all,” Regina continues.

“I’ve never been on the receiving end of Hufflepuff’s wrath,” Marlene says with a chuckle. “Maybe it’s only against the Slytherins they’re like that?” she suggests.

“I don’t know, but they are good at quidditch,” Regina says. Marlene nods.

“Um, how’s that painting you told me about, the one for Elise’s seventeenth birthday?” Regina asks after the silence stretches. It’s not awkward at all, but Regina genuinely just wants to continue talking to Marlene.

“Good, I hope she likes it,” Marlene answers, she seems pleased that Regina remembered at all.

“I mean, I don’t know why she wouldn’t, all of your stuff is so good,” Regina answers offhandedly. When she realizes what she just said Regina’s face turns red.

“Thanks, Reg,” Marlene smiles broadly. “Do you want to head into the Three Broomsticks?” Marlene asks. Regina realizes suddenly that they’re at the Three Broomsticks now. She nods after a moment. Marlene leads them into the pub.

It’s already full. The taller girl leads them to the back of the pub to a little booth. Once Regina sits down Marlene leaves to get drinks. She returns quickly.

“Here you go Reg,” Marlene smiles sliding into the booth next to Regina.

“Thanks,” Regina smiles softly. Regina looks into her butterbeer, cause she can’t bring herself to look at Marlene.

“Can I kiss you?” Marlene blurts out seemingly accidentally. Regina looks up suddenly. She nods eagerly before she can stop and think about it.

Marlene cups Regina’s sharp jaw in her hands and leans in. Regina meets her halfway and connects their lips. Marlene’s lips are warm and chapped, and Regina’s never felt anything this nice. Eventually, Marlene’s tongue darts out and traces Regina’s bottom lip, a question. Regina opens her mouth and the other girl's tongue slips into her mouth. The first touch is electric. Marlene tastes like the butterbeer she’d been drinking as well as bubblegum. Regina gasped softly. Eventually, they released from the kiss.

“Wow,” Regina is at a loss for words.

“Yeah,”

“I’ve never been kissed before that,” Regina blurts out without meaning to, her face goes red in embarrassment.

Marlene chuckles, she’s still holding Regina’s face in her palms. “That’s adorable baby,” she coos with a smirk. Regina blushes, Marlene reaches out and pinches her cheek, and Regina pushes her away with a huff.

“Shut up McKinnon,” she mumbles. Marlene kisses her chastely.

Regina goes in for another kiss. It starts innocently enough. But then Marlene bites down on her bottom lip and Regina gasps opening her mouth. Marlene slips her tongue in again. Her right-hand slides down from Regina’s face to her ass. Marlene squeezes a little and Regina gasps into the kiss. Regina grips Marlene’s shirt in her hands for dear life. Eventually, they release the kiss. Marlene smiles down at Regina lazily. Her lips are slightly red, and Regina wants to snog the ever-loving shit out of her.

“So Reg, what do you say? Be my girlfriend?” Marlene asks with a slight smirk.

“Yes, yes, yes. Kiss me again Mars,” Regina begs, the nickname just slipping out. Marlene chuckles before leaning in.

Merlin does Regina love this already.
