Chapter 6
The twins fought the urge to roll their eyes as their Great Aunt Sloom approached them. They hated the way the woman spoke to their Grandmama. They knew why Sloom seemed to hate Grandmama. The reason was that Grandmama, despite being the younger daughter, was the one to produce the Heir to the House of Addams, their Father. Since Sloom and Grandmama had no brothers, it was up to them to marry well and have the next Head of House after their great-grandfather. Unfortunately, no man was good enough for Sloom in her own eye. So, she never got the chance to be Lady Addams. Instead, Grandmama married Sebastian Lopez, who took her last name and became Head of Addams House until his eldest, Gomez, was of age.
"Great Aunt Sloom." They said, bowing respectfully.
Despite their feelings, they were Purebloods and Addamses. They knew how to show respect to their elders. Even if they disliked them. Even if the twins felt that hate or wishing to commit homicide was a more appropriate term for how they felt about their great-aunt.
"Hadrian Gomez Addams. Wednesday Friday Addams. I am glad to see the hooligans of Hogwarts have not made you forget your manners."
"Thank you for the compliment, Great Aunt Sloom."
It was indeed a compliment as much as one would ever get from the stern woman. Not that the twins cared much to receive compliments from her.
"How is your animagus training progressing?"
"Aunt Minerva believes we are very close to accessing our forms," Wednesday says formally.
"Good, good. Go along now. I wish to speak to the other guests."
She didn't need to tell them twice. Hadrian immediately went off to find Draco, while Wednesday went to find their Mother. After a few minutes, Hadrian found Draco with Little Tully, although Hadrian heard he was trying new names and was using Whom now to go along with his Stepfather Itt, baby brother What, and Cousin Viktor.
He wasn't sure what it was, but having Draco near the two young teens made something bubble inside him. He stored that thought for later. He moved over next to Draco and smiled at his cousins.
"Whom, Viktor, thank you both for coming."
"Of course, Cousin." Whom says, smiling. "Mother says it is a big deal for you and Wednesday to have gotten to Hogwarts."
"It is an honor. Of course, we wish we could get expelled or at least suspended, but unfortunately, we must behave until OWL's. Then Mother says we can try to get suspended."
"Not expelled?" Whom asks with a furrowed brow.
"Unfortunately, no. Suppose it were any other school, perhaps. However, if you get expelled from Hogwarts, your wand gets snapped. Mother refuses to let Wednesday and I do so for that reason." He answers with a pout.
"Don't forget me." Draco pipes in, causing Hadrian to smile softly.
"I could never forget you, Dragon." Hadrian then sighs. "Still, wish it were a possibility."
"We need the British government to believe that we need our wands for our magic, Hades. You know that is why Mother says such." Wednesday says, walking towards the group.
"I know. Doesn't help me though." Hadrian grumbles. "When is the big speech?"
"Soon," Wednesday answers plainly. "We should make our way to the front."
"Ah, it is to happen in a few moments then?" He asks, smirking.
"Of course."
They happily brushed off their friends' curious looks while making their way to the front of the room. With playful smirks exchanged, they knelt before their Father and Mother, ready to embrace the special moment. They would take the oaths that bind the Addams family, declaring their unwavering loyalty. Afterward, Hadrian would proudly step forward to take the official Heir oath, marking a meaningful milestone in their journey.
"Hadrian Gomez Addams." said his Father before pausing and allowing his Mother to continue.
"Wednesday, Friday, Addams," their Mother said in a slightly proud tone.
"Do you pledge your loyalty to Mother Magic?"
"I, Hadrian Gomez Addams, do so pledge my loyalty to Mother Magic. All I am belongs to her. My magic lies in her hands. Shall she call upon me, I shall answer. Shall she punish me, I shall accept my punishment. Anything she requires, I shall provide. So Mote It Be."
"I, Wednesday Friday Addams, do so pledge my loyalty to Mother Magic. All I am belongs to her. My magic lies in her hands. Shall she call upon me, I shall answer. Shall she punish me, I shall accept my punishment. Anything she requires, I shall provide. So Mote It Be."
A layer of royal purple wrapped around Hadrian; for Wednesday, it was a dark, regal blue. There was a level of surprise even within the Magical beings in the Addams family. Each person had a level of magic within them. There were five levels. The first level was the color bronze, someone who was just above a squib. The second level was the color silver, someone who was just below average. The third level was the color gold, which meant someone was average. The fourth level was a regal blue, which meant you were slightly above average. The fifth and most rare level was royal purple. Only six individuals were said to have had the color royal purple: Lord Salazar Slytherin, Lady Helga Hufflepuff, Lady Rowena Ravenclaw, Lord Godric Gryffindor, Lady Morgana Le Fay, and Lord Emrys Merlin.
"Heir Hadrian Gomez Addams," his Father began once more. "Do you so swear to uphold the duties of the Addams family, to cause harm to those who will cause harm to the family, to make traitors tremble at the sight of our anger, to make enemies fall at our feet, to uphold the family motto: Magicae, Noctis, Amoris et Familiae. Magic, Night, Love and Family. Will you swear to this upon your magic, Heir Hadrian Gomez Addams?"
"I, Heir Hadrian Gomez Addams, do so swear to uphold the duties of the Addams family, to cause harm to those who will cause harm to the family, to make traitors tremble at the sight of our anger, to make enemies fall at our feet, to uphold the family motto: Magicae, Noctis, Amoris et Familiae. Magic, Night, Love and Family. I swear this as Heir Hadrian Gomez Addams. So Mote It Be!"
Everyone felt blinded as the purple grew. His eyes glowed purple as the Magic took his oath in. Even his sister felt shocked and cowed at the raw power he possessed. She may have quite a lot of power, being above average. However, this was a level that no one had possessed for centuries. Everyone missed, however, when a particular man watched not with curiosity or glee but with a level of determination. He looked to Sloom Addams, and when their eyes met, she nodded ever so slightly. This was the child of the prophecy told by Thora Addams so many years ago. This was the child who would change the course of history and unite the Wizarding World.
Sloom was not happy. In fact, the witch was having trouble controlling her anger. She needed to inform Albus immediately.
