Don't Miss It

Remus arrived at work completely exhausted. He greeted his friend and co-worker Lily half-heartedly, while she just grinned at him.

"Well, Remus, what did you do to be so tired?" she asked with wiggling eyebrows, earning a nasty look from Remus.

"You know very well that I sleep horribly when there's a full moon, Lily," he said annoyed, tying on the apron with the café's logo.

"Yeah, yeah..." she said apologetically, but still grinning. "But don't be in such a bad mood all day! Maybe the woman of your dreams will walk in today! Or man!"

Lily's enthusiasm didn't rub off on Remus. "You tell me that at least three times a week," he said, shaking his head.

Since Remus had been working with Lily, she had been trying to set him up with customers, and when she found out that he was bi, no attractive customer, whether male or female, was safe from her attempts. Of course, these attempts mostly consisted of her (not so) subtly letting Remus take orders from customers she thought he might find cute. So far, she has been unsuccessful.

The two of them talked for a while until the small coffee shop opened and duty called. Remus sent Lily to the cash register and to take orders. He was too tired to interact with people so much.

So he only worked in the background for the time being, preparing the orders. He worked as if in a trance and the whole time just thought about his bed and how nice it would be to snuggle up in it and his soft-

"Remus!" Lily pulled him out of his thoughts. "You have to take over for a moment. I'll be right back."

"Okay..." he answered, sad about not getting to dream about sleeping anymore and shuffled to the counter. He put on his forced customer smile and started serving.

"I'm back!" Lily called and Remus turned to the last customer in the line.

With tired eyes he looked up briefly and said: "Your order, Miss?"

Lily burst out laughing and Remus heard an exaggerated gasp of horror from the person in front of him.

"Miss?" the person asked and Remus put his hand over his mouth. In front of him was not a woman, but a man. With long hair and elegant features, but definitely a man and a beautiful one at that.

"Oh, oh God. Sorry. I didn't look properly..." he tried to explain and turned bright red.

Lily's laughter could still be heard in the background and another guy standing next to the non-Miss had joined in the laughter and slapped the long-haired man on the back, laughing.

"Oh man, Sirius. I told you your eyeliner doesn't suit you."

"Hey, my eyeliner looks great, James!" he defended himself and Remus watched the whole thing, still red in the face, not really knowing what to do except silently agree with Sirius, because he did look great in eyeliner.

Luckily he didn't have to do anything, because Sirius turned to him.

"Hello, by the way, I'm Sirius and not a Miss," he said, grinning and offering him his hand.

"Er, hello, I'm-"

"Cute," Sirius finished Remus' sentence and winked at him, which immediately made Remus blush even more.

"Er, no, I'm Remus," he stammered awkwardly, making Sirius laugh. God, could this get more embarrassing.

"Very cute," Sirius said, scribbling something on a napkin, which he then handed to Remus.

"Here. Call me, Remus," he said before running to the door, waving and disappearing from the shop, leaving a very overwhelmed Remus behind.

"Er...didn't he want to order anything?" Remus asked James.

"Hmm yes, but he loves to make an exit, the dramatic wanker," He replied, looking after him, shaking his head.

"Well, okay. Bye then. Maybe we'll see each other again sometime," James said goodbye and ran out.

"My God, what was that?" asked Lily, glancing at the napkin.

"I...have no idea." Remus said, looking after them.
