Day 1 (Jegulus)
Regulus Black honestly hated his job. The cafe where he worked at was close enough to the Pilates studios that many moms would come in demanding an iced coffee. Occasionally he would have very nice customers who tipped well, but once again, occasionally.
It was another quiet-ish day, thank god, when Regulus looked up from his notebook because the bell on the door had rung. He flushed a bit when he noticed the customer who came in. It was the cute boy with glasses who had been frequenting the cafe. The only way Regulus remembered his name, which was James, was because he wore a nametag around his neck, and from the peeping regulus did, he noticed that James was a high school gym teacher. Only unusal thing about his apperance this particular day was the giant coat he was wearing, and the only reason this was odd was because it was July. Regulus composed himself before stepping closer to the register.
"Hello James, what can I get you today?" Regulus asked as he looked down at the register.
He didnt get an answer but he heard a little mew instead, which seemed to be coming from James's coat.
Regulus looked up and arched an eyebrow.
"Excuse me?"
James flushed.
"Um.." James racked through his head.
"Did you see the sign on the door?" Regulus asked exasperated. He had had to stop multiple people from coming in with pets, and most of those interactions were not kind.
"Well, there's many signs.." James chocked out nervously.
"No pets allowed. Except service animals and I doubt that youre hiding a service cat under your coat there." Regulus smirked.
James looked up sheepishly.
"Well then...could you help me.." James looked at Regulus's nametag and squinted behind his glasses. "Regulus. Could you help me find a home for this kitten."
Regulus sighed, what was he getting himself into.
Lets just say Regulus didnt expect that 3 years later, he would be dating James, and have a cat named Eurydice. But he was happy, happier than he had ever been at the cafe.
