6/09/2024: Just posting and backdating up an old fic. Originally on my Wattpad, but I won't be bringing it back to Wattpad.Honestly, I still do have a bit of a soft spot for this fic. Though, I cannot be bothered going through just yet and editing it to make it better, so I'm just copy pasting it all as is. Maybe one day I'll come back and fix it all up, though. Just not right now.Enjoy, I guess! ~ Candy

Promises To Keep

Things have been great so far between Kellin and I, and just recently I've moved into a new apartment, and have gotten myself a job at some pub that separates the muggle town from Diagon Alley. Honestly, I wouldn't have this job if it wasn't for Phil Lester, Dan Howell's boyfriend, as he's the one who talked with his boss about giving me a job there since there was still a position for bartender open even after Dan got a job there.

Honestly, I first thought you'd need some like, some type of degree in bartending to get a job as that, then again, this is pretty much a witch and wizard pub, so it doesn't really matter all that much, plus it's actually kind of easy to work behind the bar as I've discovered, well I found it easy at least, Kellin had a go even though he doesn't need a job just yet, and he pretty much almost broke something, that something being a glass almost shattering on Dan's foot.

"Vic." Kellin starts, walking over to where I sat on the couch in my - hopefully soon our - apartment. "There's only one day left of the summer holidays before I go back to Hogwarts." He says, sitting down next to me.

This causes me to stop what I'm doing and look over at him. It hadn't even crossed my mind that it was nearing the end of the summer holidays, and now today is the last day, and tomorrow I won't be seeing Kellin again till Christmas break.

"Fuck, is it really?" I ask, as he moves closer to me.

He nods his head, sadness seeping into his eyes, and it almost looks as though he's fighting back tears. "Also, my parents want me to go back home tonight so they can take me to Kings Cross tomorrow for my last year." He adds, looking away from me.

"That's understandable." I say, trying not to show my disappointment that I won't be the one taking Kellin to King's Cross tomorrow morning, but I'll still be able to see him tomorrow anyway. "Besides, I'll still be seeing you there tomorrow anyway."

He looks up at that. "You will?" He asks.

I nod. "Yeah, I'm gonna go with my parents when they drop Mike off there in the morning." I say. "So, I can still see you tomorrow."

He smiles at that, before cuddling up to me on the couch, resting his head on my chest as I rub a hand up and down his side. "I'd rather not go back home though." He sighs, slipping his hand in mine. "I'd rather stay here with you."

"So do I." I admit. "But your parents just want to be the ones to take you to Kings Cross for your last year." I say.

"I guess." He sighs. "Can we do something for the next few hours till I have to go back home?" He asks.

I nod. "Sure, what do you want to do?" I ask. "I think I've taken you around most of the places round here."

He's quiet for a while, till an idea seems to pop into his head. "We could just hang out at your work." He suggests. "I kinda want to say my goodbyes to Dan and Phil." He says.

"Alright." I decide, getting up with Kellin getting up soon after. "Let's go then." I say, before we're getting ready to head out.

As soon as Kellin and I get to the pub, which is luckily not that far of a walk from my apartment, we're met outside by both Dan and Phil, who hug the both of us, before the four of us are making our way inside. Luckily right now, both Dan and Phil are on break, so once the four of us have gotten our drinks, we chose a table near the back of the pub.

"So, looking forward to going back to Hogwarts tomorrow, Kellin?" Phil asks, taking a sip of his beer.

Sighing, Kellin sets his drink down on the table. "Not really." He admits. "I don't know how I'm going to cope being without Vic." He sighs. "I don't know how you and Dan dealt with it last year."

"It'll be hard at first, that's true." Phil starts. "But don't worry, you'll be back with Vic in no time." He promises.

Kellin doesn't look too convinced, so I wrap an arm round his waist, pulling him closer to me carefully. "It's okay, Kells." I say, kissing his cheek. "Don't worry, we can send each other letters as often as we can manage to."

Honestly, I don't really know how the two of us are going to cope away from each other, but whatever happens, I've got a feeling everything will turn out okay in the end, hopefully at least. Plus, we'll see each other again during the Christmas holidays, so I think we'll hopefully be okay till then, plus we'll both have stuff to occupy ourselves with till we get back to each other.

"I know." He sighs. "But I'd still rather be here with you." He says, resting his head on my shoulder.

Sighing, I rub a hand round his back, trying my best to comfort him, and I'm not really sure how well it's working, as he's still looking a little down about being away from me soon, but there's not really much either of us can do to stop it. He's still got to finish his last year at Hogwarts, while I've got to stay behind here, waiting for him to return to me.

"You promise you'll wait for me?" Kellin asks after a while, looking up at me.

I nod. "I'll wait for as long as I have to for you." I say. "I'll be waiting right here for you, nothing will stop me from waiting for you, Kellin." I assure him.

"Yeah, and Phil and I can make sure of that if you'd like." Dan adds, joining into our conversation. "Well, we won't force him to, but you know what I mean." He shrugs. "Well, we'll keep him company until you return."

Kellin smiles at Dan, seemingly okay with Dan's offer, and luckily my apartment is in the same building as Dan and Phil's apartment is, so I guess that's a good thing for if the three of us decide to hang outside of work.

Now we just got to figure out where Alex and the others have moved to, if they've moved out of their parents houses that is, I know Jenna has, or is planning on moving out soon once she's found her own apartment. Honestly with Alex, I think he's probably most likely going to be staying with his parents till Jack has finished his last year so they can both move in together at the same time. I haven't really heard much from Austin lately, but I think he's still living with his parents right now till Alan has finished his last year, and Jaime and Tony I believe have moved into an apartment together that they're also going to share with their girlfriends Erin and Jess once they've finished their last year at Hogwarts.

For the rest of the day, Kellin, Dan, Phil, and I just sit around in the pub chatting away about stuff, till the four of us walk home together back to our apartments, agreeing on doing this again sometime, before parting ways to our separate apartments in the building.

Unfortunately though, once Kellin and I walk into my apartment, we've no choice but to pack away whatever of Kellin's stuff he's got here that he'll need to take back to his parents house, as he's regrettably having to go back home within the next half hour, and I really don't want to see him go just yet. Luckily though, I'll be seeing him again tomorrow as I go with my parents to drop Mike off at Kings Cross for his last year.

"I promise I'll see you tomorrow, Kells." I say, hugging him tightly, as he rests his head on my shoulder, hugging me back just as tight. "And I promise I'll be waiting for your return."

He sniffles slightly, before looking up at me. "Yeah, I know." He sighs, looking away from me. "I just wish I could stay with you right now." He says, before looking back at me, and leaning up to press his lips to mine in a soft kiss.

I of course kiss him back, holding him close to me as we savour this moment together, before his parents turn up in my apartment, waiting for Kellin to break away from me.

"I'm gonna miss you." He says quietly, resting his forehead against mine.

"I'm gonna miss you, too." I say, before we're pulling away from each other. "I'll see you tomorrow."

He nods sadly, picking up his bags and walking over to his parents, before looking back over at me, waving a little with tears forming in his eyes, before he's gone off with his parents, leaving me alone in my now lonely apartment.

Though knowing that I'll be seeing him again tomorrow, made my mood that much lighter as I went about the rest of the afternoon and night doing a bit of organizing in my apartment, before I'm eventually falling asleep.
