6/09/2024: Just posting and backdating up an old fic. Originally on my Wattpad, but I won't be bringing it back to Wattpad.Honestly, I still do have a bit of a soft spot for this fic. Though, I cannot be bothered going through just yet and editing it to make it better, so I'm just copy pasting it all as is. Maybe one day I'll come back and fix it all up, though. Just not right now.Enjoy, I guess! ~ Candy

I'll Protect You

Vic's POV

A couple weeks have passed now since Oli was expelled, and honestly I don't think I've ever seen Kellin any happier than he is now, it's amazing. I mean, he's still a little wary of a couple of Oli's old mates, but other than that, he's seems to be a lot happier.

Lately, he's been spending almost all of his free time hanging round with me, and I'm not complaining about it at all, I'm cool with him spending his free time with me, more than cool with it actually.

"Hey, Vic!" I look behind me to see the little Slytherin calling out to me, while he runs over to my side. "Oh my god, you have no idea how good this feels with Oli no longer here." He sighs, falling into step beside me.

I smile at him. "That's great." I say, wrapping an arm round his shoulders. "Though, let me know if any of those dicks who're friends with Oli start giving you shit."

He nods, leaning his head on my shoulder, as we walk through halls of the castle. Honestly, you'd think that Kellin and I are together from this, but sadly we're not, I haven't picked up enough courage to ask him out yet actually. A couple students have actually questioned us about it already, and I think there's a group of people here who actually want us to be together, I believe one of the guys that have started it is one of my dorm mates, Dan Howell. Man, I really need to find the courage to ask Kellin out.

"Oh no." Kellin mutters, stopping in his tracks, and causing me to stop also. "It's Dennis, and David." He whispers. "Two of Oli's friends who're giving me shit about Oli getting expelled."

Looking over towards where Kellin's looking, I see the two guys he's on about, and I go to turn Kellin and I around to go the other way, but unfortunately, Dennis and David have already spotted us, and are making their way over to us both.

"Well look who we have here." David says, as he and Dennis walk over to us. "The little prick who got Oli expelled."

"Just fuck off, man." I say. "Oli deserved to be expelled after what he did to Kellin." I look down at Kellin, before looking back over at the two dicks in front of us. "Actually, he should be getting a lot more than just getting expelled."

They both shake their heads. "Oli didn't do any of that shit to the little bitch." Dennis says. "He lied about it, just to have Oli gone."

"After what Oli did to him, of course he'd want him gone." I say. "Why would he lie about something like that?"

"Because he's a little prick, and it's what he does." Dennis says. "And Oli getting expelled was all his fault."

"If you really think that, then you both are disgusting." I say, completely appalled that they believe that Kellin would lie about this, and that it's all Kellin's fault that Oli got expelled. "What Oli did to Kellin is no laughing matter."

I look over at Kellin, as he tugs on my sleeve. "Vic, let's just go." He whimpers.

Glancing over at Dennis and David, I glare at them a little. "You both stay away from Kellin." I say, before walking off quickly with Kellin right by my side.

"I can't wait till this year is over so I don't need to deal with those two." Kellin sighs, leaning against the wall once we're outside the castle.

I sigh, leaning up against the wall next to him. Kellin doesn't need to deal with this, he's too sweet to have to deal with any of this shit, he doesn't deserve any of it. Actually, I'm not sure how he's a Slytherin, but then again, don't judge everyone in one house to be exactly like the stereotype for that house.

Wiping his eyes slightly, he looks down at the grass, away from me. He kicks at a stone on the grass, before sighing and looking up at the sky. "I don't see how they can accuse me of lying about it." He chokes out. "What have I ever done to deserve any of this?" He looks over at me, tears beginning to fall down his face. "I've done nothing to deserve this."

Sighing, I pull him into a hug, and hold him close to me, and he buries his head in my chest, and cries, hugging me tightly. "Don't worry, Kells." I say, rubbing a hand round his back. "I won't let anyone hurt you." I assure him, holding him close to me. "I promise."

"Thank you, Vic." He sniffles after a while. "I honestly don't deserve a friend like you." He sighs. "I don't even know what I'd do without you, or Lynn."

"Everything's going to be okay, Kellin." I say, kissing his forehead. "And you do deserve friends like Lynn and I, so don't say that." He looks up at me, about to say something, but I stop him. "Don't." I say. "Lynn and I will always be there for you, I promise."

He nods, before resting his head on my chest, cuddling up to me more, while I rub a hand round his back comfortingly, vowing to myself that I won't let anyone else hurt Kellin, and that I'll be there for him whenever he needs me to.

Because I love this boy, even if he doesn't exactly know it, and I'd do anything for him.

Anything at all.
