6/09/2024: Just posting and backdating up an old fic. Originally on my Wattpad, but I won't be bringing it back to Wattpad.Honestly, I still do have a bit of a soft spot for this fic. Though, I cannot be bothered going through just yet and editing it to make it better, so I'm just copy pasting it all as is. Maybe one day I'll come back and fix it all up, though. Just not right now.Enjoy, I guess! ~ Candy

Preparing To Be The Loner At The Dance

Sighing, I fix up the tie round my neck, getting ready for the dance in like an hour from now. I'm not going with anyone, since I didn't get a date for the dance, but I've decided to go anyway. Also, Jenna would probably kick my ass if I don't go if I'm being completely honest here.

Honestly, I don't really want to go to this dance, but one of the main reasons that is am going, is that I'll hopefully get at least one dance with Kellin. One dance won't hurt right? It shouldn't anyway, it's just one dance after all, it's not like it's going to hurt anyone.

"You look good, Vic."

Looking behind me, I see Alex walking over to me to use the mirror I'm standing at so he can straighten his tie, and fix up his hair.

"Thanks." I say, looking over at him. "You look good too." I add, looking him up and down.

He smiles slightly, as he fixes up his hair, that he's currently busy changing the color of, and flattening it down. That's something I'm kind of jealous of that Alex has. He can change the color of his hair whenever he pleases. Lucky bastard being an Metamorphmagus, he can change his appearance at will whenever he wants to.

"Which color do you think I should have my hair?" He questions, turning to me.

I shrug. "Uhm, brown with pink on the top?" I suggest. "That has always suited you in my opinion."

He nods, changing his hair to the color I had suggested, and it's a good thing it doesn't actually look too bad with the suit that he's wearing.

Once I've finished getting myself ready, I go sit down on the edge of my bed and wait for Austin, Alex, Jaime, and Tony to finish getting ready, though even once we're all ready to go, we'll still have just less than an hour to go, but we can just head down into the common room and wait for Jenna to hurry up so we can meet up with our dates - well, everyone else except for me that is, since I don't have a date.

Wow Vic, maybe you should have got a date for the dance, instead you're going to be a loner.

Though surely I won't be the only one attending that doesn't have a date right? There's got to be a couple other people going to the dance that don't have a date, it just doesn't seem right only one person out of everyone going that doesn't have a date.

Finally, the guys are finished getting ready, and we all make our way downstairs to the Gryffindor common room, where we see Jenna sitting on one of the couches wearing a black dress that's a little bit longer on one side, and shorter on the other, but not to the point where anything is visible. She also had her hair down - like usual - but it had a bit of a curl to it. Basically she looked amazing, and she also looked like she was only wearing a small amount of makeup, but she looked beautiful no matter what.

"You boys look great." Jenna says, standing up and walking over to us.

I only just notice that she wasn't wearing high heels like most of the other girls would most likely be wearing. Instead she was wearing black canvas shoes, but it still looked good with the dress. Jenna is really the type of girl that'll wear dresses if she has to, but will absolutely not wear high heels.

"You look great too, Jen." I say.

She blushes slightly, before the six of us - including Mike who just ran downstairs, so the seven of us, walk out of the common room, and to the spot we're meeting our dates, though I'm still dateless, and I honestly don't really care all that much, just as long as I get at least one dance with Kellin, then I'm fine with it.

And maybe then, I can tell Kellin how I feel about him, even though I'll never be able to have him as my boyfriend as I'd very much like to.

But unfortunately, you can't get what you wish for....
