Dead Guy Walking

Regulus hadn’t let the Slytherin wing, he’d just walked away from Sirius. He had gone up to the Slytherin dormitories, now he’s just sat in the hall where the dormitories are.

My darling brother, the fucking demon queen of Hogwarts has decreed it. He says Monday, 8 AM, I will be deleted. They’ll haunt me down in Potions, stuff and mount me on the wall. I’ve got thirty hours to live- How shall I spend them? I don’t have to stay and die like cattle. I could change my name and ride up to Seattle. But I don’t have a motor bike…

He stands and sees James, who is sitting in his dorm reading on his bed, with his door ajar. Regulus slowly approaches the door, looking at James through the crack.

Wait. Here’s an option that I like- I could spend these thirty hours getting freaky. I need it hard, I’m a dead guy walking. Am I in your mind? I’m a dead guy walking. Before they punch my clock, I’m venturing into your dorm late at night. Got no time to knock, I’m a dead guy walking.

James looks up as Regulus pushes the door open a little further “Regulus? What are you doing out here? I thought you were downstairs partying tonight.” He sits up and places his book down beside him.

Regulus steps into James’ dorm, closing the door behind himself, “sh…” He whispers, placing a finger on his lips. “Sorry, but I really had to see you.” He steps further into his dorm so he’s standing a few steps away from James. Regulus is tipsy enough to have virtually no filter right now, so he just speaks his thoughts aloud, “see, I decided I must ride you ‘till I break you. ‘Cause Sirius says I gots to go, so you’re my last meal on death row.”

James goes to speak but Regulus places a finger over his lips, shaking his head. James shuts up and just looks at Regulus.

Regulus moves so he’s straddling James’ lap “shut your mouth and lose them tighty-whities” he says lowly, his lips brushing against James’ as he speaks “tonight I’m yours, I’m your dead guy walking.” He smiles against James’ lips, “come on, Jamie, kiss your dead guy walking.” Regulus says, his tone almost pleading.

James immediately pulls Regulus closer to capture his lips in a passionate kiss. Their lips move against the others’ in a delicate, lust-filled dance. Regulus feels as though he could get lost in the feel of James’ body against his own, the feeling of James’ hands gripping his waist and pulling him closer. Regulus would sell his soul if it meant he could bottle James up and get drunk off him every night.

Regulus breaks the kiss momentarily, “and you know, it’s ’cause you’re beautiful. You say you’re numb inside, but I have to disagree. Yes the world’s unfair, but let’s keep it locked out there. In here it’s beautiful. We can make this beautiful.”

James nods, just wanting Regulus’ lips back on his “that works for me.”

Regulus cuts James off by kissing him. He gently pushes him back so he’s lying on the bed. He then moves so his lips are brushing against James’ ear “take this dead guy walking, James.” Regulus moves his hips against James’, relishing in the way that James’ grip on his waist tightens “rock this dead guy walking, James, you know you want to. Come on, give into your deepest desires.”

James flips them over so he’s pinning Regulus to the mattress “no sleep tonight for you, you better chug some Mountain Dew.”

Regulus wraps his legs around James’ waist pulling him closer with a small chuckle, “okay, okay. Just get your ass in gear. Make this whole school disappear.”

James presses small kisses against Regulus’ neck with a grin “okay, okay.”

The rest of the night was a blur. It was like everything was happening too fast and yet too slow at the exact same time. Regulus would trade anything for it to never end, to forever feel the pressure of James’ lips touching his skin, to forever feel James’ body against his own. That night Regulus had never felt more loved, more cherished and more adored in his life. James’ very presence had provided him with more comfort and safety than his house ever had. He fell asleep in James’ arms, contentedly. He slept until morning, unplagued by his usual hell-born dreams of his parents and his brother.
