CHAPTER THREE (James' POV)
After the car pulled into the driveway, James turned to Sirius with a huge grin, “I can't believe we're back!”. Sirius laughed and smirked at James, “Oh I know why you want to get back, you just wanna see Evans again don't you.” James flushed. It was true he was excited to see Lily again, but he had actually been thinking of Regulus. “Oh shove off Prongs.” James muttered in reply.
He felt guilty, but it wasn't his fault. After all, it wasn't everyday he got to officially meet his best mate's younger brother. Fleamont turned around to face the two and said, “Boys, we've arrived! Make sure to get your stuff from the back.” They both nodded and hurried out of the car to grab their bags.
Once they were inside, James noticed there was a new receptionist sitting in the front desk. “Oh hello boys, I’m Stacy, the new receptionist.” The woman was no older than 25 and she had long strawberry blond hair that was done up in a messy bun.
James smiled kindly at her and told her their names. After they'd gotten their timetables and dorm numbers they compared schedules. “Damn Prongs, I'm so lucky I got one of the west wing rooms that are right next to the girls dorms!”
James wasn't listening to Sirius though, he was busy grimacing at his paper, “Ugh Pads, I've got a freshman as a roommate. This is gonna suck.” He looked over at Sirius who was grinning and said in a sing-song voice, “Tough luck mate, but guesss who I've got…..” Before James could reply that he had no idea who Sirius was talking about, he felt something heavy jump on his back.
James’ eyes widened in surprise and he whipped his head up to look at Sirius who had just yelled, “PETER, get off of James before you break his fucking back!” James laughed and heard Peter whine before hopping off of his back.
James turned to look at Pete and said, “What's got you so excited anyways Pete, you're usually so sleep deprived.” He heard Sirius laugh behind him and Peter flushed before grinning and raising an eyebrow at Sirius, “I dunno James, why don't you ask Pads?”
James shot a confused look at Sirius and he rolled his eyes, “What I was going to say before I was rudely interrupted, is that the damn school finally decided to take pity on me and give me a decent dorm mate.”
Oh no, is it finally happening? James thought as he waited for his hunch to be confirmed. Peter gave Sirius a wicked grin and said, “This is gonna be so great, imagine all the pranks we could come up with!” Sirius nodded excitedly and James groaned, with Sirius and Peter in the same dorm, the school might very well be burned down before the end of the first semester.
