Chapter 3
When they got to the hospital the doctor took Regulus back to go over the procedure and then they went to the operating room. Regulus woke up to James holding his hand and in James’ other hand was a Lego bouquet “James did you build me Lego flowers while I was in surgery?” James blushed and nodded “Yeah, I wasn’t sure what your favorite flowers were so I got you sunflowers, are they ok?” “there perfect James” James blushed at that. A couple hours later James took Regulus home, when they got back they turned on a movie and ate, Regulus fell asleep during the movie, so James picked up the trash and did the dishes while Regulus slept. “James, where’d you go?” Regulus said sleepily “I’m at the table” James was sitting at the table reading a book that Remus had lent him, Regulus got up and sat next to him at the table with another book, they sat like that for about an hour until “James, help me make dinner?” “Sure, what are we making?” “Lasagna”. An hour later “hey James, is it ok if Sirius and Remus come over and eat with us?” “Sure, that’s fine” Regulus called Sirius and then he and Remus walked to Regulus’ flat and ate. Sirius and Remus stayed over that night and played games, watched movies, and baked cookies. Regulus couldn’t sleep so he started working on his lego set, James woke up and checked his phone. It was three in the morning “couldn’t sleep?” Regulus nodded “let me make you the tea my mom used to make me when I couldn’t sleep, maybe it will help” “ok, thanks” James got up and made tea for him and Regulus, “here you go, do you want anything else while I’m up” James asked handing the mug to Regulus “can you grab my meds?” “of course Reg” James grabbed the pill bottle and his mug of tea and sat down in the chair next to the coffee table, Regulus took his meds and drank the tea, after an hour James fell back asleep but he still couldn’t so he went to his library, picked out a book, and sat down in his comfy chair. A couple hours later he finishes his book and checks his phone, it’s six in the morning so he grabs another book and finishes it as well. “Reg?” he can hear Sirius looking for him “I’m in here” he says in a soft tone trying no to wake James and Remus “Hey Reg how’re you doing?” “I’m good, still hurts like a bitch though, not as bad as when Mother used the crucio on us though” that earned a chuckle out of Sirius as he sat down in the chair across from Regulus. “Reg, love where did you go?” James is looking for him now “I’m in the library James” James walks in “oh, hey Pads, Reg I’m gonna go to the store and get stuff for breakfast, anything in particular you want?” “no I’m ok” “ok” James leaned down and kissed Regulus’ forehead and then he left. “We should probably head back out to the living room before Remus wakes up” Regulus suggested “probably a good idea, he doesn’t like to wake up without me” Sirius stood up and stretched then helped Regulus up and they went and sat on the couch. Remus woke up a little bit after they came back to the living room “Pads where are you?” “right here Moony” Remus sat up and rubbed his eyes, Sirius was sitting with Jinx in their lap, and Regulus was sitting in a chair, criss cross, wrapped in a blanket, book in hand “whatcha reading Regulus” “The Song Of Achilles” “that’s one of my favorites, have you read it before?” “Yeah, I read it a lot” Regulus said. James got back and started to make breakfast. He was making orange muffins because that’s what Regulus got when they went to the coffee shop. “Prongs what are you making, it smells really good” Sirius asked walking into the kitchen “Orange Muffins, it’s my mum’s recipe and my first time making them so they probably won't be anywhere near as good as the ones at the shop but I thought I could at least try” “Prongs they are gonna be so much better than the ones from the shop” James smiled at that, “Hey Pads, would you be ok if I asked Regulus to be my boyfriend?”
