Chapter 10

Dear padfoot

I'll cut straight to the chase, I found a spell.

Expecto patronum.

Do you know what this spell can do Sirius!?!

Its a dementor repeller.

Dementors feed on negative thoughts, they force you to relive your worst moments, and eat your agony.

This spell if cast correctly, creates a patronus. A physical embodiment of happy memories. It forces the dementors away.

I practiced daily until I was able to master it.

Do you know what my patronus is, Pads?

A huge (shedding) black dog. With a very distinct notch in his ear. Just like you.

The first time I saw it, I thought it was a hallucination. Maybe the sleep deprivation was getting to me.

Now that I know how, I often find myself casting it just to see you again. Before you killed our friends, our family, when we were all still happy.

If I were only able to teach you this spell, maybe your time in Azkaban wouldn't be that bad. It doesnt matter how much I try to convince myself that you deserve what you got, I can't stand it.

One day I'll teach this spell to you.

Love
Moony
