It was a big year at Hogwarts, the Triwizard tournament was being hosted there which caused students great excitement. After the strange death of Dumbledore it caused students to become grim, but this has instantly changed their mood. The other schools however were nervous, having to be in the place that the demon student murdered his teacher was frightening indeed. And while he did a heroic deed it had to be kept a secret, after all if knowledge of a basilisk being in the school were to have gotten out there would have been mayhem.
There Dazai sat, looking at the goblet of fire with his gang, they all had curious and excited looks on their face. He had read about this in a book having read almost half of the library by now he was bound to have. It still interested him, though it was a serious nuisance. The pounding in his head as no longer human screamed against his skull was starting to cause a slight headache. Nothing he wasn't used but it still was annoying.
Hermione started educating the twins, trying to tell them that their little plan to try to age themselves with a potion wouldn't work. Dazai was a bit curious, after all the magic circle was professional but it wasn't the work of the best wizard out there. He let out a laugh as the twins failed at their plan, watching them fight with each other due to them both pulling the same prank.
The gang watched it for a while, chatting with each other as they watched student after student putting their names in. The event itself interested dazai, but what made him more interested were the glares that the students from the men's academy were giving him. He could practically feel killing intent in their gaze, though it was nothing compared to the people that he had came in contact with throughout the years. It was certainly something to look out for though.
A few days past, people were constantly surrounding the goblet of fire. And much to his demise dazai was one of those people, having to sit through Hermione's rambling sessions about the event over the years. It kept adding to the constant headache that the goblet and the stares were giving him. He hated being out in the open like this, so many eyes watching him with so many different feelings. Fear, anger, hatred, so many different things yet they were all the same. They were staring at him like the demon he was .
A loud bang stopped Hermione's rambling, dazai turned to look at the noise as did everyone else. A student, from one of the other schools came in. His feet heavy as he walked up to the goblet of fire, his friends trailing behind him timidly as they glanced to dazai "His name will get picked, I just know it will. That demon will get picked and he'll be gone for good" his voice loud as he spoke through clenched teeth. It was pretty easy to tell what was going on, for dazai of course. Hermione sat up looking confused as she raised an eyebrow "just what are you going on about?"
The boy glanced at Hermione, his eyes lowering to look at dazai with a fearful smirk before raising his hand. "I'm putting the demon's name in the goblet, I'm not stupid enough to risk my own life but if there is even a chance that the demon will be picked and be gone from this world I'm taking it", his voice was laced with venom as he glanced over the students in the hall. They were all silent, they weren't brave enough to do it themselves (at least not with him present) but they all silently agreed to the fact. They didn't want him here, the fear and hatred they had for him couldn't go away just by one act.
Hermione was quick to fight for dazai, truly a loyal dog. Dazai was pretty interested in this, he didn't know if it would do like the map and take the name Dazai in. It was something that made his mind wonder. He just sat in silence , Blaise watched him. They understand each other better now, Blaise knew that look so his mouth was kept shut. Hermione's words meant nothing as the student stepped into the circle, his hand dropping the paper with the name 'Dazai Osamu ' on it into the flame. The hall stayed silent, watching to see if the demon would do anything. Some giggles could be heard before the paper shot back out, the edges not even burnt.
Well how interesting. Dazai smirked at the hall grew silent again, watching the students confused faces grow. All their eyes were on him, he had to hold back a shiver when he felt the fear and uneasiness grow in the room. He just glanced down at Blaise, getting up and walking out of the room with him and the gang. They were confused as well but he easily made up a lie to get them off his back.
Something deep down inside of him wished that it would have worked, he thought that name was fully gone now. The thought that it died with that man. Just another reminder that nothing truly changes, he'll always be the same person he used to be. What a nuisance
