Get Through It
Jesse came back to her house, except Davy was with him this time. Or-well he showed up when Jesse went to the kitchen.
~
He entered placing Yuna's water bottle down on a bench and stood in the back watching the two. The scoff Davy made didn't go unnoticed when they first entered.
Aarav finally left the room.
"That was a while, did something happen?" She asked now holding onto a bar and doing a grand battement and developpe. Her gaze was through the mirror at him, gentle but serious.
"Well um.., I had the chance of talking with your father."
He had her full attention now.
"He either doesn't like me or is very passive aggressive." Jesse commented a little shaken up but knew how most Pureblood families were.
Yuna only gave a short breathed laugh.
"Really? He loves me." Davy commented confused. "That's because you conform to his mood." She mumbled. "Oh, that sounds about right." They nodded while she grabbed her water bottle. "So, did you both plan to come over here or was this just a coincidence?" Yuna asked before taking a sip and crinkling lightly from the taste.
Aarav came back in, "Yuna, the break is over." He spoke before standing in the center of the room waiting for her. She quickly waved the other two off and placed her bottle down to head over as music started playing.
He placed his hand on her waist and held her wrist leading her at first. The two danced gracefully till Aarav started spinning her. Jesse realized something was off. Her face. Her posture. A different look, but it wasn't his place to say anything.
The boy held her back as she performed a penché but to the side-quickly falling over. Aarav gave a small groan and stepped back from her. "Are you serious?" He judged. "I fell, okay." She replied with little annoyance. "How do you fall all of a sudden after practicing this routine multiple times? You're supposed to be graceful, not flimsy." Aarav started criticizing her. "Well, it's not my fault you're not holding my back properly." Yuna flipped on him.
"Excuse you? I am holding it properly! You're just too stiff for me to get a good grip on!" Suddenly dance practice turned to a bitter argument session. "I'm not too stiff, I'm exhausted! It's always practice with a three minute break!" The girl stood up now eye to eye with him. "Well, I'm sorry for trying to perfect your dancing, at least I'm trying to help you keep one thing good and consistent for you!" His comment was bitter.
"Do NOT do this here." The girl warned in a low tone so only he could hear. "Why? Are you finally ashamed of the shit you do to yourself?" Aarav was going deeper than she wanted and he knew that if she was finally taken down then maybe she'd listen to him. "I'm not doing this." Yuna held back from snapping and turned around ready to leave.
The boy quickly grabbed her hair pulling her back around and held his hand around her throat and other around her wrist. He made sure to have her back to the other two as he spoke in Russian.
Jesse started to make his way over till Davy grabbed his wrist and held him back. There were silent hints he couldn't fully recognize but his face only gave off pity.
He turned back, Yuna only stayed silent. No honest or fake comments from her. When Aarav finally loosened his grip, he pushed her back and walked out. Davy finally let him go and followed him over.
She stood up looking ashamed-from the times she had been pretending to be fragile-she definitely wasn't pretending now.
"I'm sor-"
"Don't apologize." Davy cut her off.
"That guy's a jerk." Jesse commented turning to look at the marks on her neck to which she noticed and put her hand around it casually. "Yeah well, that guy is my fiancé." Yuna remarked back. "You're joking." He tested it-like she would ever make a joke about this. Taking a better look at her, he could see bruises under pink cloth. He knew some of them were from her falling but now...
She must've noticed him looking and started walking out. "I think it's time for you to go." The girl spoke clearly before exiting the room.
"No-, Yuna-" Davy tried following after, but Jesse stopped him. "Why the hell didn't you let me stop him? And don't think I didn't see that scoff earlier. What's going on?" He questioned him like a parent scolding a child.
"Because stopping it only makes it worse." Davy was definitely annoyed and in a hurry, but Jesse still held onto his arm. "You're still leaving things out." There was a moment of thick tension and he finally stopped trying to leave. "In front of Honeydukes."
"What?"
"In front of Honeydukes." There was a sigh knowing he shouldn't be saying anything but would help with some context.
"I saw him dragging her out by the hair. He ended up slapping her and walked off. She had fingerprints..." They stopped. "I'm not saying anymore." It was like Davy suddenly knew or remembered something-or a reason?
"She'll be fine, go home Jesse." He said before walking out of the dance room to look for the girl.
