Chapter 1
The crackling sounds of the fire filled the otherwise silent night, as the slight form moved closer to the fire huddling closer to gather warmth from the flames. A sharp breeze surrounds the figure sending shivers down their spine, chills down to their toes, and wishing for their home.
A sudden snap in the forest causes Harry to look up from the fire, and to look around the endless dark forest around her. Wishing for home, she wonders how it came to this, how she came to be in this endless wasteland of trees, and snow with nothing but the clothes on her back, her undetectable extension knapsack, wand, and the strangest oblong egg.
Deciding the best thing for the egg is to keep it warm, she puts it into the fire. The last thing she remembers is leaving the train station with Vernon. Knowing that she had to return back to that house after the death of Sirius was agony, but now not knowing where she was, stranded, potentially alone for the first time in her life seems daunting. The night was quickly approaching and her stomach was starting to tighten into a knot, grabbing her bag, she put her arm in, and started to dig around until she found a loaf of bread not knowing how long the food she has with her, she grabs a slice of the bread, and puts the rest back into her bag.
Quickly eating her small meal she looks around her trying to find any monuments that look familiar that would give her any indication on where her location may be. After seeing trees, trees, and even more trees Harry quickly decides that she won't be able to do much before he sun goes down, she starts to set up the tent. Pulling her wand out she starts to put up the few security wards that Sirius was able to teach her before he passed.
Going into the tent Harry starts a fire, placing the strange egg by the fire Harry grabs her bag and starts to take stock of what she has with her, her wand, a couple changes of clothes, a pair of leather boots, some non-perishable foods, a knife, some matches, her school textbooks, her invisibility cloak, some miscellaneous items, feminine products, and luckily before she left for Hogwarts at the beginning of the school year, she grabbed large amounts of gold and stuffed it into her bag. There were other items in her bag, but by the time she got to the gold, she started to feel the hunger pains set in, and decided that the bread wasn't enough. Grabbing some more of the food she quickly eats some and falls asleep in one of the cots in the tent, hoping for a different scenario when she wakes up in the morning.
