The Bells

Albus' POV, July 18:

Albus Dumbledore couldn't stop laughing from where he was laying on Ms. Bagshot's living room floor.

"You? A seer?"

"What?" Gellert said, "It's true!"

"I'm sorry-" Albus tried to pull himself together and sat up in the middle of all books they were researching in, "I was just used to a very strange Divination teacher -- I didn't take Divination."

"No, and rightfully so. I have never understood why they offer Divination as a course at Hogwarts; Divination isn't something you can learn, but you're born into."

"I know. It was a bit pathetic, seeing students go about, thinking they could see into the future. They were a particular kinds of people and others tended to avoid them because they were a bit... loony. I'm sorry if I thought of them when you told me, it's actually very wicked. How is it?"

"To be a seer? I wish I wasn't. The visions often doesn't help me, but scares me. I keep seeing great wars and people getting murdered."

"I'm so sorry." Albus was having it hard knowing what to say.

Gellert's POV, July 19:

Dear Gellert-

Meet me in the barn -- I think I have an idea,

Δlbus Dumbledore

Albus' 'A' was written like the sign of the Deathly Hallows, but what Gellert found most intriguing was Albus' handwriting in it self;

A year ago, Gellert had had a vision unlike any before. Often when he got visions, he felt awful afterwards, but this vision had felt good, like lighter times were ahead.

It was a bright blue eye, just as bright as Albus' and when Gellert got out of the trance, he had written his own name on a sheet of paper, but not in his handwriting -- It was just the same handwriting Gellert was now looking down upon his first ever received letter from Albus Dumbledore.

Gellert just knew Albus was going to be special for him and for the first time in his life, Gellert felt like he wanted a person in his life until he died.

Gellert walked to the Dumbledore's barn where he, not all to surprising, found masses of papers and books laying about in a mess.

"Albus, have you gotten any sleep?" Gellert said, concerned and trying not to laugh at the same time.

"No... Gellert, I need your help. You're a seer..."

"Yes...?"

"How much do you know about Fate Magic?"

"Quite a lot, Albus, since I am a seer." Gellert smiled.

"Good. After you told me that you're a seer, I started studying on it, because I realized how little I knew of it since I never took that class." Albus spoke quite fast, "I had already heard of seers being able to do certain rituals to steer what they wanted to see in their visions. And now I think I have an idea. Have you ever performed such a ritual before?"

"Yes. Have you really been up all night just to-"

"Brilliant. I want you to try and steer your Third Eye into seeing any connections between the Potters and the Cloak of Invisibility."

"The Potters?" Gellert said bewildered.

"They live in this village and they might be in possession of the cloak, seeing as they're descendants of the Peverells. I've just made that solution through research."

"That's brilliant, Albus, but I suspect Ignotus Peverell has many descendants, how can you be sure the cloak has been passed down to the Potters? How can you be sure the cloak hasn't been stolen at any point during all those years?"

"I don't, but it's worth a try." Gellert snorted at that.

"For your theory to work, we'd need a lot; a strand of hair from one of the Potters-"

"Already accomplished." Albus said, pulling out a small glass bottle containing a single strand of hair.

So with Albus having prepared everything for the ritual, Gellert found himself, half an hour later, sitting cross legged on a drawn sign of the Cloak of Invisibility and holding the hair of the oldest Potter. Albus was beside him, so quiet Gellert couldn't even hear his breathing.

Taking all his strength he could muster into focusing, Gellert seeped into one of his visions:

Patrick Potter, the oldest of the family Potter, was folding the Cloak of Invisibility in a box, then putting the box inside a wardrobe.

Gellert didn't get to see where the wardrobe was located before the vision was over. Then Gellert started laughing.

"What did you see?" Albus asked hurriedly.

"What a stupid place to hide such a precious artifact!" Gellert exclaimed.

"You saw where the Potters are keeping the Cloak? Is it the Potters who owns the Cloak?"

"Yes! Yes you wonderful man!" Gellert said and hugged Albus, even if it was something they had never done, but Gellert was too high on adrenaline to care.

"You're wonderful!" Albus insisted, "Do you even understand what you've just done, how few could have done the same. Gellert, thanks to you we'll have one of three Hallows today! This is big!"

"It is, though we wouldn't have been able to do this without you either. We should go there right now!"

"No, Gellert. It's too dangerous. Let's go back to your aunt's and make a plan, then we can go to the Potters after they've gone to bed -- Much safer."

"Fine then. You should probably get some sleep as well." Albus' eyes twinkled, how Gellert loved when they did that.

"If you only knew how long I could go without sleep just to study."

Dimly, Gellert registered how good Albus still looked, despite the lack of sleep.

Albus' POV, July 19:

When Albus stepped into Ms. Bagshot's house, she was already there to greet him.

"Would you two boys like to have tea with me?" Bathilda asked.

"No, we're quite busy-"

"Yes, please!" Albus said -- He could not help himself, he had not eaten for so long and the prospect of sweet tea and cakes was very tempting. Gellert slowly turned his head and looked at Albus incredulously.

At the table, Bathilda Bagshot was talking non stop about childhood stories Albus already had heard of, Gellert was looking incredibly bored and impatient, and Albus was trying to think of how many sugar cubes he could add to his tea before it got weird.

"More tea to your sugar?" Gellert asked, who hadn't missed Albus' attempt in furtively adding the sugar. Now Albus snorted and stopped at his fifth sugar cube.

"I'm fine."

"You see, Albus here was a top O student." Ms. Bagshot said, "Did you ever get anything other than Outstanding in any of your classes?"

"No..." But Gellert wasn't listening. He was now grinning, immensely amused, while watching Albus fill his plate with cakes, cookies, and sweets.

Gellert's POV, July 19-20:

After some planning, Gellert and Albus were striding through the night towards the Potter's house, invisible to everyone but themselves. As they approached the nice looking house, Gellert and Albus split up and checked the windows on either side to see if any family member was awake.

The house was well protected in spells, but they managed to break them all down. Once in the house, they made a silencing spell over themselves and started looking for the wardrobe.

Gellert chose the second floor as Albus took the first. The second floor was mostly of bedrooms. Gellert was trying to recognize magic in the walls, in case they had a hidden room behind them. Right at the end of the corridor, he found a hidden room, but was disturbed by a laud bang downstairs, and hurried down to see what had happened; On the floor to the hallway, Mrs. and Mr. Potter lay unconscious.

"What happened?" Gellert asked.

"Apparently they weren't home until now."

"Did you wipe their memories?"

"Yes, and I'm considering steeling one."

"That won't be necessary. I think I have found it." Albus looked up at Gellert, and his whole face shone with fondness.

"Then help me get these bastards to bed, let's do this."

After they had placed the Potters on their bed, they stepped into the secret room, but there were no wardrobe in there.

"Scheiße." Gellert said, feeling defeat, but Albus started to one of the corners, and performed a spell that looked like it demanded concentration. After some seconds, a hidden attic ladder appeared.

"I think the Potters have kept the Cloak quite well-hidden after all." Albus said cheeky.

"You're amazing!" Gellert said, and he really meant it.

"After you." Albus said, and Gellert started ascending the stairs. Up on the flat, Gellert saw it. Just the same wardrobe he had encountered in his vision, and the sight excited him so much. He was about to have an actual hallow in his possession.

"Is it there?" Albus asked below.

"Yes, sorry, it's there." Gellert got up and helped Albus up.

"I can't believe this is happening, it has always been my dream, and now it's reality."

They walked to the wardrobe and opened it with some spells. And there it was, the Cloak of Invisibility; It was made out of a material so light it almost felt like water, it seeped between one's fingers like a ghostly cold wind, it glimmered in different colors as you looked at it from different angles, glittered, and felt so strongly of magic that you could smell iron in the air.

"Dolorem Inferens!" A voice from behind shouted, and Gellert and Albus blocked the purple curse at the same time. The curse was so powerful, Gellert thought he would have been hurt had it not been for the fact that Gellert's Protego spell was doubled in power together with Albus' help. But Gellert could barely register that thought before both he and Albus started dueling the five Potter's.

It only took Gellert and Albus 20 seconds to overpower the five Potters; The three children were no match to take down, and the parents were fairly good, but not nearly as good as them.

After the fight, Gellert had so much adrenaline, he was just barely able to stop himself from kissing that incredible boy. Gellert was pretty sure Albus liked him back, from all times Gellert had caught Albus staring at him in attraction, but he wanted to kiss him at the right moment.

"We should erase their memories." Albus said, "It's best if we make them think they never had the cloak from the beginning. I don't think I could make such a powerful Memory Charm, you should."

It drove Gellert insane seeing Albus breathless and his hair falling over his face. Gelert did as Albus told him to and bent down to mess with Patrick Potter's mind. When he was done, he peered up at Albus who was watching Gellert's every move with devotion.

"I think you are capable of erasing such a huge memory from one's mind -- you're just not willing to admit it."

"It's just... I've never tried."

"Then this is a great opportunity." Gellert said, and just as he had thought, Albus was able to erase Mrs. Potter's memories perfectly. If Gellert was to describe Albus with one word, it would be just that; "Perfect."

"Thank you." Albus said, "Which kid do you want to Obliviate?"

"The oldest -- He was so annoying." Albus laughed.

"I know, but your Misapprehension Charm was pretty great." Gellert winked and started Obliviating the oldest Potter siblings as Albus took the other two.

When Gellert was done, Albus still had work left, so he walked over to the Invisibility Cloak and retrieved it.

"Here." Gellert said and pulled the cloak over Albus' shoulders who closed his eyes at the feeling.

"Let's put these idiots to bed."

"Or..." Albus said with that twinkle in his eyes, "We leave them -- Here." Gellert laughed.

"They're going to be so confused. You're so cruel."

"Well, I guess you've influenced me."

This time that Gellert and Albus walked the streets of Godric's Hollow, neither of them had a Disillusionment Charm over themselves. Instead, they were running under the Cloak of Invisibility, laughing.

As they approached the village's church, Gellert got an idea.

"Follow me!"

Gellert and Albus stormed into the church and ran up the stairs to the belfry.

"What is your plan?"

"Are you ready to announce Jesus' presence to this boring village?" Gellert said pulling out his wand.

"What? No?"

Gellert cleared his throat and pointed his wand to his throat: "This is God speaking." The bells started ringing and Albus laughed, "I have seen how this village is worshipping me. I am honored beyond words, and have decided to thank your love by blessing this village with spectacular harvest for ten years. I repeat; This is God speaking..."

Albus was laughing so hard Gellert wanted time to stand still right there and then in the belfry. Gellert could see almost the whole village waking up to see what was going on, but none of them could see Gellert and Albus through the cloak. Albus started waving his wand that made music appear and light fall over the village, so it looked as if God himself was standing in the clouds.

The village was as happy as ever and started crying, singing, storming the church, celebrating and dancing. And Gellert could no longer resist the temptation;

As Gellert catched Albus' eye, and Albus' eyes dropped to his lips, Gellert kissed him.
