The Black Lion

Chapter 3

Kreacher could hear the blood traitor breaking things. He hoped Missy Lion was okay in there with him. He knew from experience how the blood traitor's anger could cause him to hurt things. He had never thought his own words or actions could cause pain, but they did. They hurt him and worse, they hurt his favorite master, Regulus.

Missy Lion didn’t deserve to be hurt even if she was a mudblood

‘No not mudblood, muggleborn.’ he corrects himself. He had promised to change how he viewed her after she gave him the fake necklace in exchange for the real one. Since then he realized that his old master and mistress were wrong. He had been wrong.

After that, he started to interact with her, and sometimes it seemed like he was with Master Regulus again. Oh, how he missed his master Regulus. A shy boy he was but very kind and soft.

‘Too soft, for the house of Black.’ a voice whispered in his head.

Once the room went silent, Kreacher started to worry. It was too quiet. Did the blood traitor hurt the muggleborn girl? Despite not being summoned, he entered the family tapestry room. Glancing around, he nearly screeched at the state of it.

Everything was broken.

Broken like the Black family was.

Broken like he was when his master Regulus left him that night.

Moving further into the room, he hoped to clean quickly, to mend things back to how they once were. But when he saw the blood traitor lying on the floor, he sighed.

“Of course, bad master Sirius ruins everything.” he mutters bitterly. He knows it isn’t normal for house elves to talk bad about their masters, however, he did not see this blood traitor as his master.

Never.’ he thinks. He had one master and that master was dead. Dead too young.

Using his house elf magic to move Sirius to the couch that was closest to him. Looking around again hoping to find Missy Lion. Walking closer to the tapestry he finds her leaning against it slouched over.

Holding in another screech he uses his magic again to move Hermione to another couch.

“Calm thoughts, Kreacher. Focus on the task," he mutters.

He might like the muggleborn girl however she was still a mudblood. She shouldn’t be near the most powerful family Black tapestry.

‘No Kreacher, she’s a muggleborn.’ he scolds himself in his thoughts.

He begins to clean the room. As he cleaned, his attention turned to the tapestry. He had to double-check it, it was one of the few things he had left to remember his master by. As he got closer to the bottom he stopped and stared at it.

Five seconds went by.

Five minutes went by.

If he didn’t shake himself out of his thoughts he would have stared for five hours.

“I have to tell Master Regulus’s favorite cousin.” he says loudly urgency tightening in his chest before disapparating.
