Cassius watched as the group of first years dwindled down completely bored. He knew many people were excited to finally see 'The Boy Who Lived' but honestly, he couldn't care less. It seemed very few people actually used their brains to think a one-year-old baby did something to end 'He Who Must Not Be Named'. It clearly was something likely done by his parents but not a lot of people seemed to agree with it, much less said from a child only two years older than their savior. He tuned back in when murmurs ran through the Great Hall. He looked up to see confusion on most faces and turned to Terence on his right.
"What's going on?"
"Harry Potter's name was said but it's been a minute and nothing." Comes across the table from him in the form of Marcus.
Cassius raises an eyebrow as he turns back to the front where Professor McGonagall seems to give a pointed look to Professor Dumbledore before continuing on with the sorting. The rest of the sorting is dull until there is one child left that seems to confuse everyone as Professor McGonagall closed the parchment after announcing the Zabini heir who was sorted Slytherin. Cassius notices that she seems to startle for a moment before schooling her expression.
"Harry Potter. Not coming up when your name is called is extremely rude. Now come up and get sorted so we can continue." Professor McGonagalll says in that very no-nonsense way of hers.
"My name isn't Harry Potter. I'm surprised the magic didn't correct it on that parchment."
"Of course, your name is Harry Potter. Now get up here this instance."
"That's a name I've been hearing since I entered the wizarding world. Whoever said that was my name clearly thought far too highly of themselves since that's never been my name and not close to what my parents named me at all."
The silence that follows is deafening. Everyone seems to be torn between looking at their savior and looking at the headmaster who has been the one to give information to the wizarding world in regards to the boy's life since that fateful night. Professor McGonagall looks torn between annoyance at the dig to Dumbledore and bewilderment at the rest of the statement. Cassius decides based on that, that everything they've heard about 'Harry Potter' has absolutely been a lie and wondering what Dumbledore gained by all the lying. What stands out the most to him from that statement though is 'since I entered the wizarding world' which means that the child very likely grew up in the muggle world which seems highly suspicious considering what everyone has been told.
"My boy." Dumbledore says as he rises from his chair in the middle of the teacher's table.
"I'm not your boy. I don't even know you. Who are you?" the boy says, tilting his head causing many to choke on air.
Dumbledore doesn't respond as he's visibly stunned. Cassius listens as the students around him at the Slytherin table all murmur wondering how far down Dumbledore's downfall is about to be when he's been caught out in some of his lies in front of over three hundred people. He can't help but smirk knowing that whatever has happened and whatever plans Dumbledore had, are now demolished thanks to an eleven-year-old.
"What is your name then if not Harry Potter?" Cassius looks up to see that it's Professor Babbling asking.
"Hadrian Potter-Black ma'am. I won't say my full name but James also isn't in my name either." the boy, Hadrian says smiling.
"Well Hadrian Potter-Black, if you would please step up to be sorted so we can all eat."
"My apologies ma'am. I didn't think the magic wouldn't correct my name. Clearly something has happened so it should probably be fixed soon." Hadrian says as he walks up and turns towards the rest of the hall before setting the hat on his head.
Cassius stares stunned much like the rest of the hall as they finally all see what 'The Boy Who Lived' looked like. Dumbledore is going to have to pay for a lot it seems. Lying not only about his name and apparently everything but his appearance as well, which honestly makes sense if he's already lying to begin with. He's not an almost carbon copy of James Potter, doesn't even look like his mother Lily Potter nee Evans. He's got the tanned skin of the Potter's since they originally hail from India and a single green eye instead of the two that were like his mother's. That's the only semblance from his parents that he shares that Cassius can see that he remembers from the only photo of the Potters' that was ever released to the public. His hair isn't the wild mane that Potter's have, instead it's long and silky though it is still the typical black color which is prevalent in honestly most Pureblood families. He doesn't wear glasses, so his eyes are very prominent, and they cause Cassius to gasp with a theory that runs rampant through his head. The eyes that are hidden by the sorting hat are two different colors, meaning the kid has heterochromia. That isn't what causes his brain to whir about with a theory that if it is true, could change so much and cause so much damage but also raise so many questions. While one eye is the vibrant green that his mother was known for, although it's far more vibrant than he expected, it's the color of the other eye that is so startling. The other eye is the mercury silver that is very famous in only one family in the British Isles wizarding families, the Blacks. Which thinking about the kids last name makes sense but also raises the question of how because Cassius gets the feeling it's not from a simple blood adoption.
"SLYTHERIN!"
This shout from the sorting hat startles everybody. Hadrian Potter-Black smirks as he takes the hat off and walks towards the Slytherin table to another deafening silence. Cassius wonders how much chaos he's about to deal with for the rest of his schooling knowing that the wizarding world is about to be tilted on its axis and many people are about to face their downfall.
-------------
Cassius is brought out of his thoughts by a kiss to his forehead and a subtle sharpness to the fingers running through his hair. He looks up to stare into the very eyes he was just thinking of.
"Everything alright?" Hadrian asks as he continues his ministrations and turning to nuzzle into his fiancé's face.
"Yes. Just lost in thought. I was thinking about your sorting and how I knew everything was about to change." Cassius says, adjusting how he's laying across Hadrian's lap.
Hadrian doesn't answer but smirks as he helps Cassius to shift since he's laying across his lap in a chair that he wishes his friends would stop calling a bloody throne. If he wanted a throne, it'd be much better than this chair and would still have room for Cassius to comfortably lay across his lap when he wanted to. He remembers back to that day and how Cassius was among the few who were more curious than hostile that first night.
"Well of course everything was going to change. Everyone was about to realize just how much they'd been lied to by Dumblefuck. Serves them right for relying on one man for so long without question. His downfall was beautiful justice even if it was less bloody than I would've liked." Hadrian says before leaning down to kiss Cassius regardless of the fact they weren't alone in the room.
Cassius hummed in response as he shifted upwards slightly to deepen the kiss. Hadrian smirked as he pulled away while Cassius borrowed further into his chest. He looked up and around at all the others that were sprawled around the room in various conversations or games. He sat back knowing that the wizarding world of Britain was at his feet and not how they'd thought because he turned out to be nothing like what they'd thought or been told. He wasn't sure yet if he wanted to rule from behind the scenes or let someone else do it but knew he didn't have to worry about that yet. He was freshly graduated from Hogwarts and had the world before him to figure out if he was going to or not. He eyes land on his father who just raised an eyebrow before going back to the conversation with those around him. Hadrian knew that his father would support him if he decided he was going to be the next Dark Lord and an improvement from the abysmal one that was now dead. For now, he turned back to Cassius, kissing his forehead knowing that he could worry about everything later.
------------
Hadrian stood next to his father, Sirius Black, and smirked around at the people surrounding them in the Wizengamot. They were all discussing Hadrian's responsibilities despite the clear fact that Hadrian had no inclination to what they were saying. He turned to his father who looked back at him with a bored amused expression he was sure was also plastered on his own face. He turned back to everyone and cleared his throat causing everyone to go silent with hope on many of their faces, thinking they were finally going to get their wish. The wish that a child would take care of all their problems instead of the bloody fucking adults.
"I'm not going to be your savior. I never asked to be your savior, nor do I want to be. You've never done anything to help me. You didn't care about me until I appeared in the wizarding world again almost six years ago. You're grown adults while I'm a child. If you really expect a child to take care of your problems, then honestly the British wizarding world can burn to the ground for all I care."
Hadrian smirks at the dumbfounded and shocked gasps that follow his statement. He stares at every single wizard that is staring at the spot he and his father occupy before the two turn and walk out, ignoring all the calls for them to come back. He already starts composing the letter to the ICW and other countries ministries knowing that the British Isles are about to see how far they've truly fallen thanks to Albus Dumbledore and his manipulations. His smirk turns feral as he thinks about if Cassius would like to rule with him, with a pretty crown to adorn his pretty little head.
