Similarities between "The Raven Boys" and Marauders
Ever since I finished reading "All the young dudes" some time ago, I've been trying to fill the empty hole this fanfic left in my heart. A good way is, of course, to read other fanfictions, but after reading "The Raven Boys" by Maggie Stiefvater, I can't shake the feeling that the characters remind me of someone, and if you dig the Internet carefully, it's not just my feeling. This is of course not a one-to-one reflection, but certain features can be noticed. See for yourself:
Spojler alert!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Richard Gansey III as James Potter- a boy from a rich family (the financial status can be compared to the status of purity of blood) with loving parents and the awareness that he got an easy start in life and because of this he feels that he should help his friends who were not so lucky and did not have such good family relations. He is platonically in love with all of his friends and would do anything for them. He is a natural leader and is used to people listening to him and doing what he tells them to the point that he is perceived as arrogant by people who do not know him well. He's on the rowing team (not as big a part of his life as Quiddich is for James, but still). He is under a death curse and is to be the first of his friends to die
Ronan Lynch as Sirius Black - Gansey's best friend to such an extent that people practically don't see them apart from each other and some people maliciously call Ronan Gansey's DOG. He dresses in black. It's punk rock (though more punk while Sirius is more rock). He has a complicated relationship with his family and a love-hate relationship with his brother. His family is also rich and Ronan has made it his life's goal to fail school and become a family disappointment (at least in his brother's eyes). He drinks a lot and he is gay.
Noah Czerny as Peter Pettigrew - Quiet, a bit distant from the rest of the group but still part of it. He runs away or disappears at terrifying moments due to his cowardly nature.
Adam Parrish as Remus Lupin - I don't see any differences. They are practically one person, change my mind. He comes from a poor family where he is treated badly. He is incredibly stubborn and self-sufficient, so he consistently refuses to accept any help from anyone. He works and studies extremely hard to stay in a school that doesn't seem to be designed for people like him. He is composed, intelligent and constantly tired due to life's problems, of which he has a disproportionate number compared to other people. He has anger issues (Remus' Vibe before the full moon). He is convinced that he will never be as valuable and as naturally charismatic as his friends, but he tries his best not to be left behind.
Blue Sargent as Lily Evans or Marlene Mackinnon - A strong female character who hates snobbish boys from rich families. She comes from a poor family and is a fierce feminist.
Declan Lynch as Regulus Black - he is convinced that he is responsible for the family and for his younger brother. He seems like a cold, stiff asshole, but he would actually do anything for his loved ones. He made it his life's goal to be as boring and predictable as possible in order to survive and protect his family. He believes that he has no time in his life for true love or passion because he is too busy meeting social expectations and earning money. Somehow Gansey is the only person whose opinion Declan respects
By the way, wolfstar - Ronan and Adam relationship
Like I said, it's not an exact reflection, but it's close enough that I felt the need to write about it. By the way, Alistair in "All of us villians" is like Regulus, you won't convince me otherwise. If you read any series and have similar associations with Marauders, please give me some recommendations.
