The Night they Died
It’s the night before Halloween, and Harry has fallen asleep cuddled up next to Theo, be knew that he would have the worst nightmare tonight. Mainly because James and Lily Potter died on Halloween. And so every night before Halloween, that’s all he see’s. It’s quite literally torture.
He hates when he’s stuck in his nightmare, standing there frozen as he watches Voldemort kill his helpless parents, He hates it when that plays over and over in his mind. He hates when he can hear voices in his head telling him it’s his fault they died. Though Harry tells himself it’s not, yet he still believes it is. He wishes that Voldemort had taken him instead, on that faithful night they died.
At least Harry and Theo get to got to Sirius and Remus’s House for the weekend to celebrate Halloween and to try and make Harry forget about the terrors of that night.
Theo watches as Harry tosses and turns during his sleep muttering something about take me not them. Then silent tears fall down Harry’s pale cheeks and he cry’s into Theo’s chest. Theo feels bad for everything Harry had to go through. He wishes it didn’t have to happen to his Harry.
Without realizing he had, Theo soon falls asleep. Harry wakes up in Theodore’s arms and he feels safe. He’s so happy to have Theo with him and doesn’t know what he would do without him.
Harry waits for Theo to wake up, and after a while he does. “Theo, guess what?!” Harry says.
“What is it?” Theodore replies.
“Today we’re going to my Dads’ house!” Harry says, excitement filling his voice.
“Oh yes Cara Mia, I almost forgot.” Theo responds.
And then Harry gets up and starts packing everything he’ll need. And then he urges Theo to start packing too. Theo at first doesn’t want to but ends up losing the debate.
After packing and eating, Harry and Theo use floo powder to get to The Black family home. Once they arrive they are greeted by Sirius and Remus and invited to sit on the sofa and watch some Halloween themed movies.
After a few hours of being there everyone is called to the kitchen to eat. They eat mashed potatoes with gravy, chicken, and corn. Then Remus brings out vanilla cake frosted with orange icing and black, purple, and orange sprinkles.
It was delicious, almost as delicious as the feeling of Theo’s lips on his (Harry’s) after dinner that night. Or the feeling of the vibrations when Theo talked whilst Harry lay comfortably on his chest. Or could it beat the feeling Harry feels when Theo calls him “Cara Mia” or “My beloved” in Italian. Nope, nothing could beat that.
Harry loved Theo oh-so much and was so grateful that he had met him.
And Theo loved Harry oh-so much and was so thankful that he had met him.
