Several days passed since that night. He hasn’t touched her since, nor has he been in the room. Alone to her thoughts she tried to process it all but could not. She knew she was stronger than this, but the energy within her still ebbed in waves.
She didn’t know whether this had anything to do with the fact that she was seemingly disconnected from her world. The one upside was that she had enough time to think about what had happened and how she ended up here.
She knew for a fact that this was not her world, this was not London, and was most definitely not the British Isles, at least not in the sense she was used to. She found several maps in books on shelves in this bedchamber that showed the mapped out world and much of it was different but also had some similarities. There was a North and South. An East and West. Any direction seemed to work the same way as she was used to. The night sky functioned the same way as it had stars and a moon, same with the day and night cycle, but the constellations were different, she didn’t recognize them. It also all felt different, she couldn’t quite place why or what specifically was setting her off but if magic was energy and it flowed in a pattern she grew accustomed to, here the flow felt stagnated.
But they had Dragons! She thought; that must mean the existence of magic.
A door creaked open and a little white haired child poked its head through.
“Hello there sweetheart.” She said gently to not scare it away. The child’s violet eyes were round with awe as they looked at her.
She heard a stomp of feet of someone running and a woman’s voice came down the hall, “There ye are! Come back here this instant!”
The child went inside and came rushing towards Hermione, it went to hide behind her skirt in hopes that no one would see it.
The door burst open and a very rotund nanny was struggling to catch her breath as she paused in the doorway.
“Young princeling you cannot just run away- oh I’m sorry to intrude, …Lady?” The woman eyed Hermione suspiciously.
Hermione had placed her hand on the child’s head gently and was looking down at the mischievous half grin the little boy had.
“You are not intruding.” She said, smiling at the little boy. There was a definite resemblance to Aemond, she wondered if this was his son or a relative.
“My Lady I do not believe I know who ye are, what are ye doing in Prince Aemond’s bed chambers?” The woman placed her hands on her big hips and asked accusingly.
Hermione looked up at the nanny and was about to answer when a familiar male voice behind the woman sounded.
“That is none of your concern, woman. I believe you found Prince Jaeherys? If that is all please take the child and go, the Queen is looking for him if I am not mistaken.” She turned around to face Aemond who stood tall with his hands behind his back.
“Yes m’lord” she stumbled through a bow and rushed to get the princeling. She picked up the boy and walked as fast as her feet could carry her, clearly afraid. The little boy waved at Hermione and she smiled and waved back. When they both left, Aemond shut the door and approached Hermione.
“You like children?” he said looking at her quizzically.
“I do.” She replied, watching his movements carefully. “ They are innocent and pure, with little worry about the world.”
“Hmm, this is true, but not always.” His jaw was tense. He stood for several moments just watching her, before he turned on his heel and headed towards the door.
“Wait,” she said, “where are you going?”
“ That is none of your concern.” He replied coldly and left.
She stood in the middle of the room, before she shuffled towards the chaise where a book she was perusing earlier lay. With every step the chain twinkled, reminding her that she was but a prisoner.
