The Diary-
I spend the next hour and a half going through books that vaguely talk about banshees. Only when I make it to the middle of the section do I find something that catches my attention. It's an old personal journal. Opening it clarifies that it was a teenage girl's diary from generations ago by the date on the first entry. It also tells me that she started the journal at fifteen and ended at nineteen. The journal is charmed to only ever end when you are done writing in it. There are hundreds of pages that are hidden from view.
The name on the first page is Maeve O'Dwyer. I have to do a double-take when I see it. I know for a fact that once upon a time, one of my Mother's grandmothers' names was precisely that. The name means "She who rules," and the last name means "Black." I abandon all the other books on the table before me in favor of reading my grandmother's diary.
Night quickly sneaks up on me, yet Irma doesn't come to collect me for curfew. Using this to my advantage, I spend the night in the library reading further into my ancestor's life. Though many of her words were unimportant, they still hold my attention. Though not when I suddenly hear a soft, muffled pair of footsteps. I don't look up; I wait for them to get closer to me. Then, as if appearing from thin air, Sirius Orion Black appears beside me. I don't jump like he suspects me to, causing his smile to diminish. I roll my eyes before motioning for him to sit beside me, and his crooked grin widens again.
We sit silently, me reading the diary while Sirius attempts to braid his hair. I put half my attention /on the journal sitting in front of me and the other half on the boy next to me, who is getting frustrated while trying to braid backward. I let out a snort of a laugh when he threw his arms up in defeat. Sirius looks towards me with a grin after hearing my laugh.
"So, just what are you doing in the library so late?" He leans back in his chair and puts his hands behind his head as he gazes at me.
"Reading." My tone is monotone, and I turn the page. I can hear his eye roll, making my lips tilt upwards a little.
"Well, no bloody shit, Sherlock." He starts to lean his chair on its back legs. I finally look up from the yellowed pages to see him already staring at me. My brows raise as he maintains eye contact, not backing away like most would.
The conversation starts on Sirius' end. He told me of the prank he and Potter had pulled earlier in the day. He goes into detail about the fourth-year boy's reaction to it, with humor evident in his voice. He goes on to talk essentially to himself as I pay more attention to the words on the page than the words from the Gryffindor.
As he goes on, I start to notice the faint scent of musk and leather. I can feel the warmth radiating from him. He's gotten closer, hasn't he? I tune out his speech as I pay attention to him, only slightly inching towards me on his chair, which now has all four legs on the ground. It seems that he doesn't notice it like I do.
"-And then she had the audacity to turn around and start to yell at me." His tone is light. He's staring at the table in front of him with his arms crossed before I catch his gaze. His voice fades off as we look into each other's eyes. His grey eyes are sharp and slightly hooded. I see his eyes drop to look further down my features.
I copy that movement, and the next thing I know, I'm leaning forward, reaching my hand to rest on the nape of his neck as my lips meld to his. The kiss is slow and intimate. Not at all what you would expect from the two manwhores of Hogwarts. I feel him move his hands to rest on my shoulders. I put more pressure on Sirius' lips before breaking the seal connecting us. As I lean back, his eyes stay closed, and his mouth is agape.
The boy starts to chuckle before opening his eyes to gaze at me. His grin is wolfish yet childlike. He looks like a kid on Christmas as he looks into my eyes, liking what he's seeing.
"You don't know how long I have wanted to do that." His tone is gritty as his eyes crinkle.
"Let me guess, since we fell into that fountain?" Sirius' brows raise, and his head tilts to the right. The silent question is clear. "I've felt the same since that almost kiss when we were children running from our parents to try to spend more time together."
The boy's laugh sounds through the room, bouncing off the walls and bookcases. I join in with his light laughter. We stare at each other with matching smiles before I break contact to look back down at the diary before me. I take a deep breath to try and get my breathing to return to normal. I roll my lips as silence covers us once again.
It's dawn before we know it. We shared soft kisses along with soft-spoken words. I send Sirius on his way before Irma arrives to find me in the same spot I was when she left. We share one last kiss before he covers himself with the invisibility cloak and stalks out of the library.

The room is calm. The distress from the week has settled. I've waited until the weekend to tell my girls what I was told the other day. The three of us are all on the couch watching a movie under a wool blanket. The credits roll as we sit there in the candlelight. It's now or never.
"I'm a banshee." I get straight to the point and get silence in return. Both girls turned to me and simply stared. "And I kissed Sirius." This gets Elle to jump up and let out an excited yell while Jo pats my shoulder in what seems to be pride.
"How long ago was this?" Jo speaks while Elle is still jumping around.
"Wednesday." They stop. Elle rushes over and starts to shake my shoulders.
"Why did you wait so long to tell us?!" She violently shakes me back and forth while Jo is beside me, laughing at the scene
