Girls Night-

Elle and I make it to our spot in the Great Hall with no Jo in sight. Shaking it off, we start to fill our plates coffee-less. Elle begins to tell me about the one class that she shares with the Marauders. She explained that Sirius had chosen to be her partner in the class for the next few weeks.

I told her that the class would be interesting for her for the few weeks she was going to share with him. Sirius doesn't seem like the guy who would try to bully Elle in any way, so I'm not worried. I'm sure that he will learn how to be her friend. Even after a week and a half, he still hasn't chosen our new nicknames for him and his friends to call us.

We're mid-conversation when Jo finally shows up. She sits down with a heavy thump. She has a smile, but it's unlike the usual one that she has with Elle and me. She begins to make my coffee before filling her plate with fruit.

"What's got you smiling?" I ask with my brows raised. She stops her motion to look back at me.

"Just made a few new friends."

"Ooooh, who? Who?" Elle claps as she stares at the girl next to her.

"Some Gryffindor girls who are in my Transfiguration class." Her tone is casual, but I can tell she's happier than she's letting on.

"Can we get some names, at least?" I continue the conversation. Jo looks up from her plate, debating whether she should give more explanation. Finally, she lets out a small chuckle before going on.

"Evans, McDonald, and McKinnon."

"You mean Lily Evans?" Placing my elbows on the table, I lean my chin on my palms while Elle looks equally interested in Jo's new friends.

Rolling her eyes, Jo continues the conversation and steers it away from her new friends. Elle starts telling her about the new partner situation, and Jo reacts like I did to the information. The conversation ends when lunch does, and the two girls go off together while I head to The Room to wait until I am needed in the Ravenclaw tower.

Making sure I have all I need in my bag, I leave The Room to make my way through the castle as the moonlight shines through the hallways. It's after curfew, yet I have yet to come across any teachers or heads of houses. Getting to the Ravenclaw tower is easy. Getting past the late-night studies is harder when they don't have any headphones on, that is.

I don't knock when I get to Jo's dorm. I walk in with my face down like I always do. I only look up once I hear a few girls yelling. Looking up, I blankly stare at the three girls all throughout the dorm who weren't supposed to be there. The blonde throws pillows at me until I yell over their words to explain myself.

"I'm-I'm here to do Josephine's hair." I hold my hands up in surrender. That's when a voice from the bathroom yells out from behind the door. Jo's voice.

"He's supposed to be here!" A crash sounds from behind the door. "Leave him alone!" The blonde girl keeps her hand raised with a pillow ready to throw as I walk towards Jo's bed and start laying out all the products I need to box-braid her hair. I saw the other girls take an interest in what I placed on the bed.

"So you really do her hair?" I recognize the voice of Lily Evans from behind me. I assure them that I do.

"It's easier to get it all done when you have help." I shrug it off as if having a white boy help doing protective hairstyles isn't an odd thing, let alone a white pureblood Slytherin. After laying out all the products, I place my bag on the floor and sit on the bed, leaning on the pillows. All three girls eye me suspiciously until Jo comes out minutes later in an oversized shirt covering shorts. Her hair is sopping wet but natural.

Jo sits at her desk and motions for me to start. As I detangle her hair, the other girls begin to talk amongst themselves. I listen to their conversation about Potter's latest confession that day. I've heard how much Evans has hated them, but now I hear her firm voice waning as she speaks his name.

Jo twists the chair so that we are both facing towards the girls so that she can join in on the conversation. As I run the comb through her hair, I listen to the girls talk about different things that aren't interesting to me at that moment. Then, I move on to sectioning her hair while she talks to Evans about some books they have both read.

Focusing more on doing my job, I don't notice when McKinnon tries to get me to join the conversation. Jo reaches back and shakes my right hand to get me to answer. I hum in response while trying to get the perfect straight line before I look up. All three of the girls are looking at me.

"So, how are you and Professor Royale?"

"First of all, I don't even know your first name. Second, I am doing nothing that you are accusing me of." My tone is posh and sarcastic. Both of these things are true. I don't know her first name, and I am not sleeping with our DADA teacher. Laughs bounce off the walls as McDonald starts rolling on the bed across the room. I strain to hold in my own laughter as I continue to section Jo's hair.

As the laughter dies down again, Evans points at the blonde girl across from her in the bed.

"She's Marlene McKinnon." Then she points to the dark-skinned girl to the right of her. "That's Mary McDonald, and I am Lily Evans."

"So, can I just call you all by your first names? I feel that after being asked if I was sleeping with a professor, we would be close enough to do that." I can practically hear the girl in the chair rolling her eyes at me as I speak. Seeing the other three girls' nods, I told them to call me by my first name.

We spent the next few hours gossiping, doing each other's hair and nails. I'm nearly a third of the way through with Jo's hair when the girls decide they're bored and want to watch a movie. I don't put my opinion in, so we end up watching Heathers, which I end up loving. One thing I can say is that I have never been like JD, and I stand by that.

My hands start to cramp, and Mary offers to continue my work. Handing it over to Mary, I let Marlene begin to paint my nails a matte black and silver. As my nails dry, Lily applies a face mask on me after putting a headband on me, making my hair stick up like crazy.

We end the night at three AM after I finish Jo's hair. The final product is box braids with blue hair braided with her natural hair and her edges laid. Marlene and Jo share a bed while the three of us fall asleep in our own beds. We don't worry about when to wake up since tomorrow is a Saturday.
