"Avery!" "Avery! Catch the butterflies!" A bunch of 1st-year Hufflepuffs is running and screaming to her in the hall while she's walking to her dorm from the Headmaster's room, doing her duty as the Head Girl.
The butterflies are one of the magical creatures; they are flying towards her but turning to the tree. The wind blows on Avery's face, enhancing the beautiful view where the butterflies fly. Slytherin 8th years are sitting around the other tree, chatting with each other, but her eyes go straight to Pansy's hand trying to grab Draco's right hand, a disturbing sight.
"This is an illusion..." she said in her mind, closing her eyes. "It's just an illusion..." hoping her magical blood will erase what she's seeing in front of her.
Draco moves his hand away from Pansy's hand and hides it in his pocket. Draco...
One of the kids pulls her hand, pushing her forward, their champion, their Hufflepuff Head Girl; she's their hero at Hogwarts. After they stop in front of the tree, she casts "Geminio." Instead of catching the butterflies, Avery reduplicates them. The kids are in awe, giggling, smiling, beaming, jumping, and trying to catch them while circling around her. Some Slytherins gaze at the noise of the Hufflepuff kids. She's turning and catches Draco's eyes looking at her; they're just a couple of feet away in another circle. They look into each other silently.
Now everyone knows their engagement is officially broken. is this what you want? she said in her mind, still looking into Draco's eyes.
Avery is the Triwizard Champion; the fact that the Goblet of Fire chose her name out of others means she's the most powerful witch at Hogwarts, but right now she feels powerless.
Draco's power towers over her, and she knows,
