In the dim glow of a single candle, the small chamber in the Peverell household echoed with the soft groans of Morwenna, the revered Seer of Godric's Hollow. Their humble home was often shrouded in mystery and ancient magic. This night, however, held a palpable tension as Morwenna prepared to bring new life into their world under the watchful eyes of her husband, Elric Peverell, and the village midwife, Isolde Aventrell.

The air was thick with anticipation and whispered incantations, as Elric, a stoic man known for his profound wisdom and quiet strength, held Morwenna's hand tightly. Their three sons, Antioch, Cadmus, and Ignotus, slept soundly, unaware of the transformative night unfolding. Elric's gaze rarely left Morwenna, his heart a mix of hope and dread, for he knew the burden his wife bore as a Seer was both - a blessing and a curse.

Morwenna, with her long raven hair plastered to her sweat-drenched forehead, drew a deep, shuddering breath as the first cries of a newborn pierced the stillness. Isolde swiftly and gently cleaned the tiny girl, wrapped her in a soft cloth, and handed her to Elric, who looked upon his daughter with a tender awe. But before he could fully embrace this moment of joy, another wave of pain seized Morwenna, heralding the arrival of a second child.

A heavy silence fell over the room, they had not planned on twins. Isolde worked quickly, her experienced hands bringing forth the second child, who wailed just as fiercely as her sister. Elric now held both, his heart swelling with a tumultuous mix of joy and fear. He looked to Morwenna, wanting to share this moment, to reassure her with his smile that all was well.

Morwenna let out a tired laugh, "Twins! Can you believe it, Elric?" She smiled, "We must have been blessed by magic itself." She sucked in a deep shuddering breath. "The boys' will be delighted -"

Yet, Morwenna's eyes, usually so clear and filled with foresight, suddenly rolled back, her body tensing. She took one deep, life-sustaining breath before a change came over her. Her voice, once soft and melodious, turned into a deep, gasping echo of its former self. The candle flickered as if recoiling from the darkness descending upon the room.

"A curse of duality foretold,"ย Morwenna whispered, her voice resonating deep and hollow, as if channeled from the abyss of the earth itself.ย "Bound together in life, as in their first breath, so too shall they depart it. Entangled in a perpetual struggle, where darkness battles light, their destinies shall unfold. Each twin, a mirror to the otherโ€”where one embodies the darkest abyss, the other will shine with the purest light. Forever locked in an eternal balance, their fates intertwined; a reflection of doom and salvation. And when their final chapter closes, consumed by their dual legacies, they will fade from memory, forever forgotten in the annals of time, as if never they had walked this earth."

Elric's face paled, the joy of fatherhood overshadowed by the foreboding shadow of Morwenna's prophecy. Isolde gasped and crossed herself, her eyes wide with fear. Morwenna's body relaxed suddenly, her eyes closing gently as if releasing the last of her life with the prophecy she bore.

In the aftermath, Elric stood alone, the twins in his arms, his wife's final words echoing in the stillness of the night. The room felt colder now, as if the warmth of life had fled with Morwenna's spirit. The candle flickered once more, casting long shadows across the walls of the chamber, as if signaling the long shadow the prophecy would cast over the lives of the twins:ย Levanna and Elanor.

"Morwenna ..." His voice cracked as he whispered her name. 'Morwenna... answer me.'

The silence that followed was unbearable. His breath caught in his throat, the weight of the twins in his arms too much to bear. Tears blurred his vision, and the room seemed to darken further, as if the very light had abandoned him.

"M'Lord ..." Isolde whispered, tears in her eyes and a sob in her throat she struggled to swallow.

Elric handed his daughters to Isolde, before rushing to Morwenna's side. "My love .." He whispered out, brushing a sweaty strand of hair away from her face. "Come back to us. Please." He begged.

"M'Lord ... s - she's not ..." Isolde began, only to trail off as she fought to keep her tears at bay.

He buried his face against her, as he sobbed - heartbroken. His beloved was gone. How was he to raise their boys and daughters all alone? For what felt like hours, years, eternity, his world had shattered.

Then he was shoved back to reality as one of his newborn daughters let out a cry. He turned his head to Isolde, who stood there in tears, holding his beautiful daughters. He forced himself up, and gently took them back from Isolde.

Elric whispered their names, a vow in the darkness. Levanna, the elder by mere moments, with a fierce cry and clenched fists; Elanor, quieter but with eyes that seemed to flicker with an inner light. He promised then to protect them, to guard them against the darkness of the prophecy, even as he mourned the love of his life. But a single thought haunted him.ย How can I guard them from a fate that's already written in the stars?

Outside, the rest of Godric's Hollow lay in peaceful slumber, its cobblestone streets bathed in the soft glow of a waning moon. The distant rustle of wind through the trees whispered across rooftops, carrying with it the scent of autumn, calm and untroubled. Beyond the Peverell home, the village slept soundly, unaware of the storm of destiny brewing within.

None knew of the words whispered in that candlelit room. Not the blacksmith, already dreaming of the next day's work. Not the innkeeper, resting easy after a busy night. Nor the children, who would wake tomorrow to play in the fields, blissfully unaware that two new lives had been born, bound to a cursed fate.

But the wind carried something nowโ€”something cold, a warning almost, though too faint for mortal ears. The village would sleep in peace for a while longer, but somewhere in the distance, past the quiet woods, past the rolling hills, a darker force stirred, as though it, too, had heard Morwenna's final prophecy. His hand brushed over Morwenna's, her skin still warm, as if she might open her eyes and take a breath. But no breath came.

Elric. Morwenna. Antioch. Cadmus. Ignotus. Levanna. Elanor.
