Renesmee Cullen x Persephone Jackson (Minor Thalia x Bella)
Renesme x Perci (Minor Bella x Thalia)
Renesmee, or Ren as she preferred to be called (the less said about the damn Loch Ness monster the better), ran at full speed through the forest in the Adirondacks in New York. She had been running for a good few hours, hoping she lost her pursuers, but not as hopeful.
She cursed herself for her stupidity of ditching her mother and Aunt Rosalie. The weekend was supposed to be the three of them getting away from the chaos of their house since Jake would not leave her alone.
Jacob Black had not left her alone in her twelve years of life, especially in the last five since she finished growing up and looked to be of legal age. Then he decided he was to be her boyfriend, despite the fact she had exactly zero interest in him, or any man for that matter.
Her mother and Aunt had picked up on how uncomfortable he made her and continuously found reasons to get her out of the house. The only problem was her father did not appreciate her avoiding ‘Fate’ as he put it.
It came to a head a week before the trip when he took her out to try and ‘mend bridges’ between the two of them, only for Jake to be there waiting for her. If it wasn’t for Rosalie following them discretely, she would have been trapped and hidden somewhere no one would know.
Her family broke up soon after that with Edward and Jacob being exiled by Carlisle and the rest of them needing to take a vacation away from everything. It hurt Esme, but Ren would not sacrifice her well-being to cater to someone else’s needs, even if she loved her grandmother.
She was forced to snap out of her memories as she dodged the claws of the massive feral wolf. She moved to the trees and hoped to lose them that way, but the damn things could move through the trees as easily as she could.
“Come here little dhampir,” one of the snarled out, “You will make a wonderful gift to Lycaon!”
“I don’t know who the fuck that is!” she shouted as she spun and kicked another in the face hard enough his neck snapped. How the fuck were they talking?! Then she kept dodging and running.
She just had to shake her mother and aunt for a walk alone in the woods.
Ren spent the next twenty minutes killing wolves and running through the mountains to the point she was lost. She was thankful for her vampire half as she didn’t tire and had the strength, but she did thank her human half for something.
Her soul words. The words her soulmate would say to her, and she knew it wasn’t Jake.
‘Get down!’ was not something he would have said to her when she was born and they also didn’t appear until she turned eight.
After the long chase, she finally made a mistake and was tackled by one of the beasts who grabbed her arm with its mouth. She quickly put her fist through its head, but by then it was too late and another wolf had knocked her into a nearby stream.
She quickly got up and saw she was surrounded. Glancing at her arm she grimaced at the wound leaking a blood/venom mixture slowly. That would slow her down. “What the fuck are you?” she snarled at them as they stalked closer.
“The Wolves of Lykaon, the Terror of Rome,” one of them chuckled, “Now, come peacefully so our master can take you as his prize.”
She felt revulsion for that, “I’d rather die!” she felt her fangs elongate and her claws come out, “Come on then! Let’s see if you can kill me!” she had trained with Jasper ever since she could walk. They wouldn’t find her easy prey.
The wolf howled a challenge and rushed her.
Just as she was preparing to kill him, an arrow struck the beast in the head. Everything paused and then the stream began acting strange.
She looked at the water rising into the air in confusion, right before a voice yelled her soul words.
“Get down!” and she dropped
The water froze in an instant and fired out as needles, killing most of the wolves and only wounding the last two. Ren stared at the awesome power and slowly looked up to see several young girls in silver parkas with bows, swords, daggers, and all manner of medieval weapons.
One of the girls pointed her spear into the air before slamming the butt into the ground at the same time a bolt of lightning disintegrated one of the wolves. That was when she noticed the wolves all turning into dust, “What the bloody fuck?” she questioned in confusion.
“Do not move, monster!” one of the girls snarled at her as she saw half a dozen arrows pointed at her.
“Seriously?” she raised her hands slowly and several of them gasped.
“You’re bleeding?” someone questioned her from behind. She turned her head only for her breath to catch. The girl her age was stunningly beautiful.
Long raven hair in a ponytail and sea green eyes set into a heart shaped face with a few scars crisscrossing it, she was definitely her type. Looking down to see the form-fitting armor showing off an amazonian figure, Ren knew she was done.
“I didn’t catch you with my attack, did I?” she questioned in concern, “I thought telling you to get down gave you enough time to avoid it but-,”
“You didn’t hit me, I promise. One of the mutts bit me,” when the girl’s eyes widened and her mouth dropped open, Ren remembered she said her words, “uh, this may sound strange, but is this your writing?” she asked as she lifted her shirt slowly to show ‘Get down’ on the front of her side. Judging from the blush and the way the girl’s hand reached for her inner thigh, that confirmed the position they would need to be in to bond.
And Ren felt her own cheeks heat.
“Damn Perci!” a punk-looking girl with short dark hair and wielding the spear said, “You rescued your soul mate!”
“Yes, thank you,” Ren smiled at her, “I was outnumbered and caught off guard. They got the drop on me,” she scowled.
“We saw the corpses of the ones you killed while we tracked them,” the rocker told her, “Perci was adamant we get to you,” she frowned, “How are you bleeding if you are a monster?”
“I’m not a monster,” she growled, “I hate that term. My father thinks us all soulless monsters and I got sick of hearing about it. I’m a dhampir, born of a vampire and a human.”
“Seriously?” the girl questioned, “I didn’t know Empousa were able to reproduce.”
“Not Empousa, she is an actual vampire,” a new voice stated and Ren turned only to find her body frozen in fear. The auburn-haired woman in front of her was radiating a power she had never felt before. Her eyes were white and glowing while her body was only that of a child, “They are from a different pantheon than us, and mostly harmless. They tend to feed off the scum of society, those we would kill if we ever came across them,” she turned to the dhampir and Ren felt something ancient in that gaze, “You feed from scum, don’t you?”
“When we are in the cities,” she told her honestly, knowing that lying would get her killed, “Most of the time though, I eat human food or feed off animal blood.”
“Ah,” she nodded her head, “You are either one of Tanya’s or Carlilse’s.”
“Edward is my father,” she said with a bit of disgust, “He impregnated my human mother before he turned her by accident.”
“How long do you live?” Perci asked nervously.
“She will live for as long as she is not killed,” the other girl said. She turned her white eyes to Perci, “Just like you.”
“I’m sorry,” Ren interrupted, “and this might be rude, but what are all of you?”
“I am the Greek Goddess Artemis,” the girl with the glowing eyes stated, “and these are my hunters, besides Perci.”
“I am the demigod daughter of Poseidon and the champion of Athena and Hestia,” she replied, smiling softly. I didn’t think I would ever meet my soulmate after…”
“You are the most deserving of meeting them, Perci,” Artemis replied. She then glanced to the side, “Let them through.”
That was when Ren heard her mother’s panicked calls as Rosalie echoed her, “That’s my mom and aunt.”
“Your mother?!” Perci yelped and lifted water up to her face so she could check her reflection.
“Oh stop it, you look beautiful,” Ren found herself saying and was thankful that her blush was barely there. Perci blushed brightly and many of the hunters, even Artemis, smirked at her.
When her mother and aunt burst through the foliage, they both froze as Artemis began to glow for a second before she stood at their height and of an age similar to theirs, “Greetings, I am the goddess Artemis. Your daughter is safe.
“Ren,” her mother breathed but made no move to come closer. She saw the power of the girls around her and the woman who transformed in front of them caused her to be wary, “Are you alright?”
“Yes, Mom,” she replied, “I, uh, met my soulmate.”
Both of their golden eyes zeroed in on Perci and she saw her soulmate shift before stiffening her spine. She bowed slightly, “It’s nice to meet Ren’s family.”
“And who are you?” Rosalie asked, agitated.
“Her name is Persephone Jackson, daughter of Poseidon and Sally Jackson,” punk-rocker intoned, “Hero of Olympus, Titan Slayer, Survivor of Tartarus, and one of the Seven heroes of the Gaia War.”
“Really Thalia?” Perci groaned and, Ren may not know much about her mythology, but the Titans were who the Greek Gods overthrew to gain their thrones.
Thalia just smirked before glanced to her mother and aunt before giving them a once-over, “Blondy is pretty, but I see where Ren gets her looks, I’m partial to brunettes after all,” Thalia teased but Ren, Rose, and Bella all stiffened.
Her mother rushed up to Thalia with a glare, ignoring the weapons pointing her direction, “Do you have any idea the amount of aggravation your words have caused me?” Thalia’s eyes widened in shock. “Yeah, my ex-husband hated them and tried to keep Rosalie away from me so that no one would ever say those words,” she then pulled Thalia into a kiss that really should have been left to the bedroom.
“How old is Thalia?” she asked Perci since her mother was turned at eighteen.
“Two weeks before her sixteenth birthday was when she was blessed by Lady Artemis,” Perci told her and Ren looked at her in confusion, “It stopped her aging, and she has been with Lady Artemis for about six years now.”
“Huh, close in frozen age then,” Ren commented, “Uh, Thalia won’t be removed from your service, will she Lady Artemis?”
“Not at all,” she chuckled, “I only ask my hunters to swear off the company of men.”
“Cool,” she turned towards Perci and looked her up and down, “I take it you aren’t a hunter?”
“Nope,” she chuckled, “Just the Champion of Hestia. I help guide demigods to their respective camps. Although,” she noticed Ren’s worry, “I am just as immortal as the hunters. I can be killed, but I am ageless.”
“Oh, good,” Ren slumped. Then Perci was overtaken by a kiss similar to the one Ren’s mother and Thalia were sharing.
Life was never dull for her.
